- We decided to book a hotel and have a date night in Orlando, going for tacos and then to a gay bar called The Savoy! It was such a fun night!

I miss the Parliament house!
My favorite too back when I lived in Florida in the 1990's. I also loved the Copa in Key West, before it burned down and was ruined by the people who rebuilt it and tried to rebrand it after rebranding away from our community.
@SM-mf2ty Both! Even though I only walked-by looking at the "shows" in the hotel rooms from time to time, it was still a fun part of Orlando culture that we did not have in Key West. As for the brilliant club, I loved the shows by performers who actually had talent (singing, well-choreographed dancing, and top shelf comedians) rather than the vapid lip sync narcissists who I never found entertaining at any venue, The Parliament House was one of my favorite tourist attractions when I was stationed in Florida with the US Navy back in the 1990's. Key West had the wonderful Copa that was always packed with sailors (like me), but Orlando's Parliament House was even more popular for the fellas from the base.
It was really cruisy! I had a nice holiday there but it was a bit grim in terms of creature comforts

Parliment House was fun. Keegan must have used butter the gay bars in Orlando are a bit more toned down as compared to say N.Y. or Miami. they have a gay camp ground called the Saw Mill its further north about 30 mins. i have yet to go to a bar since i moved from Miami 13 yrs ago. Orlando has a healthier view on nightlife by that i mean there not open until say 6 a.m. lilke a heavy party town.

Key West, Miami, Cape Town and Gran Canarias were my top favourites for a night out, gay style back in the day.

Since Pulse, Parliament House and Stonewall closed...leaving Savoy and Southern Nights...and the dive bars Hanks and Bar Codes which serve to get a drink before going out on the patio to have sex. The community seemed to shrink out of some fear after Pulse, even while saying they weren't...but the Pulse memorial is still in limbo so many years later...and a town thay used to have 6-8 local bars around town now seem to be down to just 4, with only 2 as legitimate clubs. Honestly, this isnt juat going on in Orlando, Florida has been having a slow death of gay bars outside of Miami and Wilton Manors...even Key West isnt as gay as it was in the 80's and 90's. Im now 67, so im past that sort of thing, but i feel sad for you younger queers who have to see our community shrink because of the political climate hear the past 20 yrs...which is only getting more repressive and sad due to religious influence on the Republican party...and Trump.
We went to Orlando and Florida for decades and we used to stay at a gay resort in Orlando called the Parliament house. There were many motel rooms there was a disco club there was a huge built-in pool and palm trees and a restaurant, and live music and it was just so nice and so fun. Unfortunately they sold it I think like 3 years ago or so and it's being knocked down so they can build condos 😢 when we used to stay at the Parliament house especially during bear bust which was a gay bear event there use to be a lot of Brits from England who would go to Bear bust.
I enjoyed the video. You both looked so happy and healthy, and even with his red glow, Keegan looked great!

Southern Nights has multiple areas, you would have still had a good time
Not very far from where you are is a gay Resort Campground called Sawmill and they have camping for gay people in tents for RVs or little cabins, and they have a huge pool and hiking trails and there's usually at least 500 gay men there. We use to stay in a motel in Orlando and then drive there for a day pass it was like 45 minutes away from Orlando!
It's a campground where you cruise to have sex on the trails.
Yep used to be great places in Orlando , Parliament House was a rundown kinda motel but it was always packed especially gay days , Halloween. Pulse was a great place 😢. Little bars like bar cactus 🌵 that were not seedy but you could meet for drinks pre big night out . All gone :(

Anyone remember the castle in Tampa “ that place had good gay party’s in the 90s . I remember Parliament House on orange blossom trail it was a uk flight attendant favourite on Orlando night stops .

That big building is the Orange County Convention Center (I was there the 1st week of March). Your hotel on International Blvd is a LONG way from the bars in Orlando. There are some nice hotels downtown. Many people don't like high floors in case of fire.
There are 155 gay bars in England and there are 805 gay bars in the United States. Florida has 56 gay bars.
That's our fancy convention center... not a mall... Haha
Savoy is great. Next time add District Dive/Southern Nights to the itinerary!

Slather your sun burned areas with ALOE VERA GEL and soak in a tub of lukewarm water for a long time the next day.

Keegan and Joel, you provided yet another enjoyable vlog. I liked your talk about making "holiday friends". It reminded me of a comedy movie I watched on Amazon Prime starring former wrestler John Cena called "Vacation Friends". There is also a sequel called "Vacation Friends 2". The first one was very enjoyable and after watching it, you both might want to stick with yourselves instead of making vacation friends.
I thought it was great to see you both encounter one of Joel's subscribers while in the gay bar. Call me incorrigible and incontinent because if I ran into you gentlemen, I would lose my sh*t! I'd be more gaga than Lady Gaga to meet you in person. A corrective "Hey, you overly sociable American bloke! Don't invade our personal space!" slap ought to settle me down.
Like commenter @joemalick mentioned here, I, too, had a viscerally funny reaction when Joel mentioned being "gay for pay". Because it's so fabulously fun being gay, it would be a bonus to get paid for being so, as well. As Keegan suggested, I believe I'll continue to go "gay for free" at this point in my life. However, in order to deal with my family gatherings, which always center around watching sports (football, basketball, baseball & hockey!!) on TV, I think I might have to go "str8 for pay". If I were getting paid to act str8, I'd gladly sit on the couch with my cousins, manspreading as if my life depended on it, all the while talking about t*ts, cars, the girl I cheated with when my girlfriend worked the 2nd shift at the hospital, favorite bro/bruh movies (for example , "Die Hard", "Scarface", "Goodfellas" and "Saving Private Ryan" - women & gays tend not to mention these movies as favorites) and the still ongoing "Who Is the G.O.A.T.: Michael Jordan or Lebron James?" debate. So, it's "gay for free" from here to eternity for me...unless somehow "str8 for pay" becomes very lucrative. Until then, bye gurl! 🌈
I’ve noticed you are a Celebration regular, over the years. Have you ever been to Lake Eola in downtown Orlando? Night strolls, the farmers market, it’s fantastic people watching. It’s like I different place in the night time than the day time. Night time is so romantic but oddly energetic ❤
One of these days for holiday you two need to visit Dallas make it a short stop even a few days. There’s a lot to do and the gay community is awesome 🏳️🌈

Joel, England has a plastic obsession too , all your produce is wrapped . You two seem so outgoing on here , I would have thought you make friends everywhere you go . I’m sure once you move to Florida if that’s what you do you will have loads of friends.
Orlando has a big Pride event which attracts thousands of people. Stay away from hotels on I-4 though, very noisy with trucks driving by all night.

It's my understanding that between the after effects of the Pandemic, and the rise of multiple on line dating sites, gay bars everywhere are diminishing.

Maybe that's some personal growth that needs to happen about not caring about what bigots think of you. How do you have a personal health channel & won't hold your partner's hand in public exactly? There was at one time a place called Parliament House but that was years ago., Now with Adolf Desantis at the helm....I would not set foot in Florida.
Gosh, the Parliament House. I used to drive down from Connecticut in the early 2000s and would always stop in Orlando to visit family and would make it a point to go to the parliament house. It was always a good time.

You both should come to Wilton manors in Fort Lauderdale, FL! I just relocated from NYC to here in October 2023. You both would have a much better time in Wilton for a trip, let alone being in Fort Lauderdale.
I don't know if this was your first time in the Orlando area. I lived there for 54 years. I was glad to see that you got off I-Drive where your hotel was located. Too many people come to Orlando and never get beyond the tourist area. Savoy is actually in Winter Park. Had you gone a few miles farther up Orange Avenue, you'd have found a beautiful town. Likewise, with Orlando...there are several beautiful neighborhood districts. To get to Savoy from I-Drive you had to pass downtown Orlando. A short jot east off I-4 would have found you in Thornton Park. Very laid back neighborhood with the lake and good restaurants. If you'd had more time you might have taken a day trip north to Mount Dora, less than an hour away, and a lovely town to spend an afternoon in. Well, maybe you'll make another trip.
Very cool to watch you two handsome UK TH-cam celebrities at Savoy Orlando -- which is not far from my house! I'm sorry I wasn't there that night! Your videos are always fun to watch. It would be awesome to see you guys explore Key West sometime! A very fun town! Allegiant Air has a some great non-stop fares from the Sanford/Orlando airport.

Wasn't as friendly in the late 80s. I never went back. I guess times have changed.
I'm in north central WV and can't imagine you getting punched for holding Keegan's hand, unless *maybe* you went to a biker bar. About 20 years ago my husband took up for a gay man who was being picked on by some other guys in a bar in South Carolina. They hadn't hit him, I don't believe, but my husband put a stop to the harassment. Edit: Some friends of mine took me to a gay bar up here two years in a row for the one friend's birthday. While I was a little bit wide-eyed lol when we first got there the first time, it wasn't a seedy place. It was kinda small but nice.

I live in Jacksonville fl. I use to go to the parliament house. Never been to Savoy. But in Jacksonville we now only have one true gay bar left.

That was nice to see you guys out and about having fun. I don’t understand all the warnings about Florida and the state and gay people shouldn’t go there. I know another TH-camr who has lived in Florida for a long time and moved (Timmy’s Takeout) locations from around Miami to Orlando with his partner and never talks about issues living there.
Bryanthediamond lives there too, he's absolutely fabulous and he hasn't complained about anything anti lgbt in Florida so far. (From what I've seen at least)
As I have perceived it, the anti-LGBT sentiments are more apparent outside of the major urban centers where the community and its allies are more accepted, as outside of the cities certain sects of the Republican party (MAGA) and some politically inclined Christian groups have more influence. Much of the anti-LGBT activity has been more subtle and stealthy in the form of banning books and attempting to ban Drag shows and fueling this sentiment by conflating the LGBTQ+ community with pedophilia and accusing us of being "groomers" just for existing and working like everyone else. As a lifelong Floridian, I appreciate the support of the greater global LGBT community and our allies with these challenges we are facing here in the Sunshine State. To those in the LGBTQ+ community who wish to visit us and enjoy what FL has to offer, we are most definitely happy to have you, but please do be careful and mindful of your surroundings depending on where you are in our state. Please be safe out there friends!

Lived in Orlando for about 6 months the city is great place but not much of a gay life, if you want to see what gay life is like in Florida you have to go to Miami or Fort Lauderdale where most gay areas are Tampa too,

In my City Toronto ON Canada we have have whole Gay Village full of gay bars & gay baths that one you went to looks fun too

First off...you two are adorable! I live in the Orlando area and the gay night life is awful here, when Parliament House went away, it was beyond sad! They were supposed to reopen at another location, but I believe that idea is dead in the water! That's why most of us head to Fort Lauderdale, because gay life there is thriving!

If I knew you I could have given you better suggestions on where to stay. The Savoy is probably best. The Pulse Nightclub shooting wasn't the reason of bars closing after. I think there was some nervousness afterward, but many had difficulty staying open during COVID. There used to be a huge gay complex there called, the Parliament House which was wonderful. I hope you went to the Pulse Memorial while you were there. Very moving and also inspiring to continue to be inclusive, no-hate and great humans.
Rocco’s Taco’s is a fun place to go too. There are many location’s, I’ve been to the one in Palm Beach. They have all sorts of Tequilas ranging in qualities. What’s really cool is they have top tier Tequilas and you can purchase shots of Tequilas that most places wouldn’t even carry due to the high costs. I remember there was one that was $100 per shot. I didn’t try it but it was cool that they have such a selection and quality Tequilas for all to try. I had their Blackened Mahi Tacos and they were delicious, paired with some top shelf Margaritas was perfect after being at the beach all afternoon. So you guys did good on falling into there. 👊🏼💯😉

I never thought anything about staying on an upper floor in a hotel until one time I was on the 35th and the fire alarm went off. Eventually it was determined it was a false alarm but not before all guests had to walk down all those steps! Never again that high in the building.
