    Outstanding, and so simple. You know, the only thing better than grilled squid is more grilled squid! Thank you. 🇬🇧

      Thanks! We're slowly growing but it takes hard work! I'm afraid I can't publish any more videos than my regular Fishy Friday and the now-and-then vlog/story type videos, because they take a lot of effort to produce.. maybe for in the future!

    Watching you prepare and explain your way through this dish looks like a dish that really needs trying. I'm sure some of our family will be put off by the tentacles, but you are certainly keeping my curiosity going with these dishes each week. like the griddle pan and the blender. Thank You Bart.

      Thanks for commenting again Gary, sorry for the late response, things have been really busy! Squid is definitely worth the try, it's so delicious. The tentacles are amazing too, so do not get discouraged by the looks! Glad you like the equipment, I got it from AEG, who sponsored my whole kitchen, so that is really nice! See you tomorrow!

      Paz there's an electronically controlled coil of metal under the glass. When you turn on the power, you make a current flow through the coil and it produces a magnetic field all around it and (most importantly) directly above it. Now a simple direct electric current (one that's always flowing in the same direction) produces a constant magnetic field: one of the laws of electromagnetism is that fluctuating magnetism is produced only by a constantly changing electric current. So you have to use an alternating current (one that keeps reversing direction) to make a fluctuating magnetic field that will, indirectly, produce heat. And that's all that an induction hob does: it generates a constantly changing magnetic field. It does not generate heat directly. You can put your hand on top of it and you won't feel a thing. But don't touch it after cooking on it for a long time as it will get hot or warm

    • @artieschwartz2446
      @artieschwartz2446 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      But the Pan or pot must be made of a magnetic metal. Take a magnet to the pan. If it sticks you can use it. If it doesn't then you can't.

    Is squid not like octopus where you should boil/simmer it first Bart?

    • @Bartsfishtales
      @Bartsfishtales  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nope! Squid is much more soft, octopus is really firm and that is why you have to cook it before. Fresh squid gets cooked within seconds!
