Thank you! I avoided this instrument because the interface/setup is confusing, but I really need it. You showed the WHY, not just the how and thats a good video.
Man, Great clear rundown of some of the features this stock plug in has, I've learnt a few things from yr tutorial man. U.Beat, is got some decent features esp for its age, but that's it. The user interface can be confusing to look at, The sequencer and ease of programming your beats and the feature to drag yr one-shot samples is great. It just needs to be brought into this century into a minimal designed full plug in with more features like eq, reverb, an arp, etc. with ease of adding samples. Under the cover it was ahead of its time. Today it feels like an old rusting car, that needs a respray, new engine, lol. Maybe the latest, smart tempo is partly towards putting the grounds down, for a UB 2 they are designing atm?
Awesome in Depth tutorial, I certainly learned a lot. Thank you Maurice!. Let's hope Apple will update the UI to keep it consistent with the rest of Logic X.
You probably dont care but does anyone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the password. I love any tricks you can give me
@Titan Dallas Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
In order to use more than just the main stereo output - you have to instantiate Ultrabeat as a multi-output instrument - and then click the plus button to access secondary outputs.
Is ultrabeat good for hip hop music? i literally have been combing the internet for a drum programming machine/plugin i can use in logic for my drum samples. i do trap and rnb music. the drum kit designer is more acoustic, drummer is literally some drag and drop stuff for beginners and id rather play my own grooves, and ultrabeat i havent gotten into because it looks so old. So i end up closing the program out because i can never drum program in logic. I know that i can use my maschine studio, push 2 and mpc live but i use those with their native software program they are meant to be used with. Besides i want to use and learn logic with all its stock plugins then add on instead of running to my go to equipment i use in other programs.
Ultrabeat works great. There is a preset in Ultrabeat called Drag and Drop kit. You can simply drag samples into the sample window and play them via your keyboard - or click in the voice pattern window to program a rhythm. Honestly for hip hop rhythms I use Geist 2 from FXpansion. It is like an MPC - but very very complex. Ultrabeat is more than passable. And it's free!! Worth learning. (Sample loading and playback is described in the video above beginning at 14:18)
What changes would you like to see added? I would like to see compression and fx sends added to each channel. But it's still a great device considering that it's included with the initial purchase.

Ultra beat is antiquated. It needs software development

Maurice Chevalier the fidelity of the samples increased. The UI needs redone
The good news is that if you don't like the factory samples you can use your own. 😊
Awesome tutorial. Much appreciated.
