    Man, I wish someone would buy that truck as a whole instead of parting it out...slap a new bed on 'er and go for another 100-200k! Would make a great gardener rig or put a lift on it and some bigger tires and go beat on it off road. I remember when that body style came out like it was yesterday, its weird to think they're so old now...

      @madmatt2024 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MrPland1992 It's worth an easy $4K-$5K up here in NY. As a mechanic, a customer had us put a reman motor in a similar year F-250 that was in far worse condition than this. I'm talking mounts completely rotted off the bed, bed sides rusted out 3"-4" around the rear wheel wells, every panel rusted and smashed, and stunk of cow crap.

    • @MrPland1992
      @MrPland1992 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      madmatt2024 thats different for labor, people are stupid as hell sinking money into shit trucks. I charge $4500 for a LS swap into say a 1975 c10. If I was trying to sell the same truck with the work already done it’s only a $2000-2500 truck. People bring me ratty ass shit and waste money. The ram on my page is a good example. Not one call for the truck at $2500. Sold the engine, trans and wiring for $3000 same day.
      I have a super clean 2006 avalanche right now with 100k miles, leather, 20in rims and I can’t get 2k for it. Not a dent or scratch on it. I sell the engine and transmissions with harness for $2000-2500 once week from the same car yet i barely had one call on my truck. I literally have it in the ad as “$2000 runs and drives great, or $2500 for only the motor, trans and standalone harness. $1000 for roller..” I get 5 hits a day on the pullout but only a couple a week for the whole truck. It’s silly. I only paid $500 for it so I’m not worried but it’s “worth” $7k. Same with my 07 grand Cherokee limited clean af with 130k. Only got $2500 for it. Blue book $8500. Not worried since I paid $500 not running and just threw a $40 head gasket on it.
      This truck has a bad trans, dent in every panel, shot interior, engine on the way out etc. it’s not worth anything. Why spend $5k on this when you can get a same year duramax with 150k and crew cab for like $6000 and half the mileage? And a clean interior, body, engine, trans, etc. Use your head man don’t be stupid.
      Diesels are even worse. I’d get 2006 f250’s, duramaxes, Cummins etc for $4-5k with blue book of $15-20k and they never sell. Used car market is a joke. People only pay stupid prices because they’re poor and can only have 500 down for a car.

Transmission shifted so hard and the thing would lug down til about 4 thousand when it got into the rev range. Something was def wrong with the throttle body sensor. Everyone beat on that truck and it just took it.

    Since there's no rust on the left side, I am guessing that it got hit pretty hard on the right and they replaced the fender and door with a rusty one. The problem with buying this truck whole, is that the yard is going to be able get pretty good money by parting it out and be able to part it out pretty quick. To buy it whole, you would have to offer more than the amount than they would expect to get in parts and that would probably not be worth it.

    Considering that's a truck that has clearly been worked hard over nearly 400,000 miles, it's really not in that bad condition. It would probably go back together to make a pretty reasonable truck for someone. With the mileage, though, there's little point in doing that unless you need a truck for the business. It might be interesting to see what mileage it would go to before turning its toes up...

    Hmm wounder how much cost for the engine and possibly wireing to thinking about putting a v8 in my s10 cause this be perfect but I rather swap the intake and stuff and throw a carburetor on it and drive it . Just curious how much it be for that engine and with that many miles ?

      CD'S Automotive & Repair if you buy the whole truck like $800. If you want just the engine, trans and harness more like $1500. I do ls swaps for a living.

    See this is proof that GM trucks are amazing! I have a 2011 Sierra that I bought brand new and have yet to need a single repair. Scotty Kilmer is full of crap when he puts down GM trucks. But he is right about Chrysler being garbage.
