YESSS @CHUBBYWUSS : Wayne is for me the cutest, most charming and elegant and specially respectfulliest MUA Man on this Planet! 😍💋💖🖒 He is always so very patient, kind, "quiet sitting inside his Passion" (hope that it is understandable for you what I mean, I'm German - but I'm more a Buddish and a 'World-Human' ) , that it is always a little Beauty-Vacation and Relax-Time to look and listen to Wayne! His Voice give me such a Freedom, so much Love to US all! 💖 No better, more kind Words for him ! Thx a lot to You, dear Wayne! 😍🖒👋👏💞💥
You are one of the few makeup artists that really talk about hooded and downturned eyes and how to actually apply makeup to them. I’m so tired of Instagram pages just using regular eye shapes.
Wayne is so underrated! This man is such a genuine human and a rare gem in the beauty community. One of my favorite things about Wayne is that he really explains every little thing. Most hooded eye tutorials are done on people without hooded eyes and none of them explain how exactly to do it on actual hooded eyes. Wayne goes above and beyond to show you how it works wtih a hooded eye and is up front and honest with how hooded his eyes are or not. He goes in such detail that it really explains what the makeup look is achieving and how to do it on the most severe hooded eyes. He's my go to for hooded eye information. I absolutely adore this gem of a man.
It seems as though very few professional make-up artists address problems that face mature women - please know you are appreciated and admired for your expertise and your kindness.
With severely hooded eyes for my age (genetics, sadly) I learned two lessons doing my everyday makeup (I don't go out without eyeshadows on) - 1. ALWAYS do your makeup with your eyes open and relaxed mimics. Close your eyes or move your eyebrows up ONLY if you need to fill the gaps. 2. Don't be afraid of blending the eyeshadows VERY high. It looks ridiculous while doing it but completely normal with relaxed mimics at the end and in real life.
Also always do your makeup looking directly ahead - so many times I have done mine with my mirror on the table or on a cushion on my lap and then looked at myself in a bathroom mirror later and been like "where the hell did my eyeshadow go?!?" 🤣
Seriously Im in tears typing this. Unfortunately age has hit me hard this last few months and my eyes have that excess skin your talking about. Nothing has helped and I hate the face looking back at me. This video is at least giving me some hope here. Makeup has always been a way to enhance ones beauty for me, and being able to do it on others and not myself ive just felt so ugly. Thank you Wayne. I NEEDED this tonight.
I SO needed this. I didn’t wear makeup for 3 years taking care of sick family. I moved home and when you are up 5 or more times a night helping sick family members, makeup is the very last thing you care about. Your family members actually LIVING becomes the sole focus. I have recently started using makeup again at 54 and in just 3 years added so many problems to my already hooded eyes, including some sort of reaction the second any makeup touches my face. My nose runs and by the time I am done, my eyes are watering so bad the entire thing is a mess. I need to minimize, minimize, minimize with products that avoid that allergic reaction at just the age that I need it to cover some things up. And I love the sparkle but perhaps those days are gone. It is what it is and I refuse to worry about it? Thank you Wayne Goss this was beyond perfect timing. 💗
Wayne has earlier vids on him using a natural mineral makeup, so nothing liquid and is applied with a kabuki, so minimal fallout on the face to be inhaled.. It might be an option?.. Good luck and I hope your family is well x
Omg thank you for this, Wayne! As someone with droopy hooded eyes, applying eyeshadow is the hardest and most uninteresting step of makeup for me. Will definitely try this technique.
I found this so helpful, everything made sense and the finished look is gorgeous. Incidentally, my hubby was watching you apply the lashes, he was fascinated! All of a sudden he let's me know "those lashes are going UNDERNEATH his real lashes - they're meant to go on top"! He knows this because his mum wore false lashes 😂😂😂😂 Someone has to love him 🤦♀️ Thank you Mr Goss, I will keep these tips in mind. Love you, 💗💞💗
Hahaha! I love your hubby's reaction, like he's telling the pro how it's meant to be 😂😂😂 I suppose it's different from asking someone who doesn't wear makeup what an eyebrow pomade is for and them guessing it's an eyeshadow or lipstick lol! 😂 Bless them! 🤣
Wayne, you are one of the most honest, sincere, humble, soft-spoken and special people I have never met. Thank you for giving so much of yourself to all of us out here in cyber-land.
Wayne, Through time you have given us a great deal of information in dealing with our hooded eyes. I have old eyes and I have always loved makeup. This particular lesson was quite useful for me. You have a thoughtful manner and you suffer a little for us in demonstrating how to place our makeup! Thank you for your efforts. I appreciate it as well as others must too.
I always LOVED makeup...from when I was a child... way back in the 70's I would wear makeup at 9 years old. Full face with contours...The women in my neighborhood would ask me to do their makeup before they went out to a club. Crazy right... but in the last five years or so I detest it...its just not worth my time when I dont look any better with makeup...I look worse. If I could go back to when my skin was flawless I would definitely appreciated it a lot more. But I love watching you.... even if I dont plan on wearing any. YOU are such a sweet spirit.
Wayne, I'm sitting here crying right now!!! I have been searching forever for someone to help me with my severe hooded right eye!!! Thank you thank you for helping us women with mature skin!!! You are a dream come true!!!
I never liked windshield wiper motion - felt like it NEVER looked like everyone else, so I followed Bobbi Brown’s tutorial where she pats on the shadow, and it works. This confirms it.
Thank you for this!!! While there are times I have more of a crease, the older I get the less lid space I have. This is a game changer. Blessings to you Wayne!❤
Oh my goodness Wayne. This is so helpful for my hooded eyes. I didn't realize how hooded my eyes were until I saw the difference of the tutorial you did today (which is how I did my eyes) and how I've been trying to make them work recently over the last couple years. This is almost like going back to my high school and college years in the 80s of how I did my eyes then. It looks so much better and so much more lifted and light. I am so, so appreciative of all your videos and tutorials. It is helped me a lot!
I haven't worn eyeshadow for years because of my hooded, drooping lids, well I am going to give this a go as it looks fabulous. Thank you so much for thinking of us hooded eye people, you are a gem.
Doing the lashes first is how I’ve had to do it for ages, because I can’t put on mascara without it getting all over my lids due to the sagging skin. When I started watching TH-camrs putting on eyeshadow before liner and mascara, I lost my mind - if I tried that, it would never work! I feel so validated just by Wayne saying to do the lashes first, even if it wasn’t with mascara. 💕
Right the way up! 💚 I'll be 44 in a few months. I have hooded eyes. They run in my family. I struggle daily with them. Thank you for not forgetting mature skin and doing lots of hooded eye tutorials. 💚
Dear Wayne. I turned 61 yesterday and, thanks to you (and people like) I still do my best for looking pretty despite my age. It is great to feel nice looking, even being a grandma and accepting an age. If you ever come to the zone I live in Spain, pretty close to the Ribera del Duero, you are invited to as many vinos as you want. Much ❤
Thank you Wayne for helping me feel like I can have pretty eyes. I’ve had hooded eyes my whole life…which now at almost 50, are even more hooded. There’s a reason Make Up Artists hate hooded eyes (at least in my experience)…it’s not an eye that offers a “palette “ to work with. You have just given me the knowledge that while I may not be able to do all the cool things, I can have pretty eyes. Thank you again.
The crows feet are a challenge as well , keeping that tissue as a blocker is oh so important because if any eye shadow gets in those wrinkles it’s just over , it magnifies them like a spotlight and shouts “look at me , here I am “
Merci beaucoup Wayne! At 65, I feel I have to adjust my application techniques every year or so as the wrinkles take over. Have tight lined for years, but recently my go to liners are smudging all over creation. Forgot about an old Trish McEvoy brush and the use of powder for the same effect. Tried all your techniques today and am so pleased with the results. Thanks for not forgetting about us of a certain age, who love makeup and just need new ways to apply.
I can't wait to try this method. I've always had hooded eyes, but as I get older, there is more and more moveable skin. I really appreciate this. Thank you!!
Thank you much for this tutorial!!! My mom has very hooded eyes and she will ask me to do her makeup to special occasions but it’s always hard for me to do it and I feel like I always leave her disappointed. Will definitely try this on her!!
Raise your hand if you're not even 30 and watching this 🙋♀️ my eyes have been hooded as hell since I was little. These sorts of resources are invaluable!
Thanks so much. You have no idea how much this means to those of us with hooded lids. I've seen so many TH-cam tutorials where the process makes no sense for people with hooded eyes or they just ignore it outright. So having someone as amazing as you actually address the issue and provide such a beautifully explained solution, is a godsend. I haven't been able to wear eyeshadow because i could never get it to look good on me. Thank you so much for everything you do
You’re so wonderful. Simply a joy to watch. I’ve been a hair stylist & MUA for over 20 years and so many ppl ( not all but a decent amount) in the beauty industry are arrogant jerks. You’re a breath of fresh air.
Oh my goodness! Wayne, I am blown away! I’m new to following you having previously just watched a video here or there. I’ve watched a handful of videos tonight & have learned more than I previously ever have about doing shadow on small, hooded, downturned 54 year old eyes! I’ve never seen anyone ever demonstrate any way to contour a nose other than two straight lines down the length of the nose! I am amazed & blown away! Can’t wait to try some of the techniques you’ve demonstrated so beautifully!! Thank you!!
I so needed this as the shape of my eye, rather downturned & lots of skin wasn't terribly flattering. Once upon a time makeup took care of that. Now, since aging & health issues, I make a total mess developing a shaky hand so minimal product is essential. Thank you again, lovely man. 💗
Wayne, you make adding the lashes look SO easy! I'm intimidated because I've never tried lashes before. (They're so lovely! I will be brave one day!) Thank you for this!
Thank you Wayne for adding that you can do this with bright colors. I’ve been waiting for this video.💜.Your products are supreme your advice priceless.
Wayne, will you ever come out with travel size brushes? My eyesight is so bad that I need to be right up in the mirror to do my makeup. I'd love a travel set of your best brushes!
I just love you always, you have always helped me with my aging eyes, I am 69 and have always gone to you if I have issues with eyeshadows. Thanks a bunch! 🙂👍❣️
Thank you thank you thank you! I'm 69 and have very hooded eyes - skin folded over and it moves all over the place. So irksome because I'm someone who LOVES eye makeup. In the 60s I was all about that black winged liner with a thin white line above it then a fun shadow. Very Mod. I will be practicing this technique.
Thank you Wayne for your videos. I have always avoided trying eyeshadow or lash extensions as my eyes have always been hooded. Even more so now at 61! But, then I started watching your videos with a different attitude. I realised it’s worth a try, and so I am now going to practice and have fun, I know it’s only make up but it can make you feel better x happy days you lovely man x Susan
Great explanation!!!! So excited because from your break down of steps I feel I can definitely do my Moms eyes now!!! We get to learn our own faces.. especially when we are not makeup artists.. so then doing someone else’s can be quite frustrating!! I’ve tried the straight line technique, contouring her eye, the phi technique, etc but none have gotten me exactly the result I was going for.. I’m also not very artistic/creative so that doesn’t help, I can’t see it myself. This makes it very simple & I can’t wait to give it a shot!!! Thank You so much Wayne, because of your teaching & tip my Mother & I have had so many good times together playing with makeup that I don’t think we would have had without you!!! XoXo 😘
Thank you Wayne. I have always had hooded eyes, and now, at the age of 75, it’s all pretty ‘mobile’. So this will be something I think will work for me. One question though, I do have a lot of ‘real estate’ between my eyes and my brows … I am assuming this will still work the same way. 💖
I have deep-set eyes Wayne and I'm sure the older I get the more hooded my eyes will become. I bought your Tourmaline palette and it is the very first product from your brand I have tried and I am in love with it! The shades are SO easy to blend and build and the color story is so beautiful! I knew I had to buy it once I saw Mel's video on it. Waiting for the Pearl palette to restock so I can buy that one also! Can't wait to see what you come out with in the future!
Oh Wayne I just found this awesome MasterClass post!! Thankyou so much for making me feel like myself again! I turned 43 and my original born with hooded eyes started dropping more and more in past couple of years. My eyes were always my favorite for doing my makeup because they always popped after I finished! However, since the droop has truly surrendered to gravity. I have been fighting with my aging causing negative feelings and depression! However. I found you and becoming more hopeful!!
Thank you so much for this video you beautiful beautiful man ❤ I have watched so many hooded eye tutorials but they have never worked for me as my eyes are severely hooded with lots of movable skin. I have tried your technique twice now and it has made my eyes look fantastic 😀 I will now wear eyeshadow whenever I do my make up as your technique has made me feel so much more confident. I have been watching you for more years than I care to remember and you have truly blossomed, I can't thank you enough for teaching me how to wear makeup and helping me to find my confidence, you help people more than you could ever know and you truly are a beautiful beautiful person ❤❤❤
Thank you so much. I cannot wait to try this tomorrow. My lids are almost nonexistent now that I am in my 60s and applying shadows is miserable. I believe this technique will help.
I’ve never used false eyelashes, (on edit, my lashes are naturally long, but starting to thin) but my upper eyelids are starting to sag in middle age. I don’t wear much makeup, but when I do, I want to do it right. Your tutorials are wonderful and I’m going to try this. Wish me luck lol!
Thank you so much. I had Botox in my forehead a few weeks back with a new clinic. There was way too much above my eyebrows, so now my eyelids have disappeared under the hoods. I’ve struggled with makeup since.
Thank you for not forgetting us older people. My eyes are starting to sag some but I have large eyes so it’s not quite as hard for me to do eyeshadow. You made applying those lashes look so easy! I have worn false lashes a bit but they aren’t very comfortable or easy to remove. Thanks for not forgetting us! Thanks 😊
This is so helpful, I wish there was a video about evening up uneven eyes. I have nerve damage on my right side of my face from when I gave birth to my 2yo & that sides eye, not only has vision & pain problems, but is visibly smaller, scrunches more when smiling & is now very hooded. Least of the worries, I couldn't walk or see for 6 months, but am fully functional now w another little angel, just left over nerve damage & pain that is pretty managed. Not like I have a ton of time to apply makeup, but any quick tips would be awesome
I'm only 32 and I have really hooded eyes, I see all these TH-camrs doing extremely gorgeous looks and when I try and copy I end up having a hissy fit because it just doesn't look the same, thank you Wayne for not only giving me really helpful advice but giving me the confidence to try ❤️
I have hooded eyes, and have always thought they were gorgeous on celebrities but hated my own! I am excited to try these techniques, hopefully I can learn to love my eye shape ❤️
Thanks for all that you bring to us. I have somewhat hooded eyes, they used to be very hooded but I had blepharoplasty which helped a LOT. You are gorgeous yourself and we appreciate the time that you share with us!. Can’t wait to try this.
For years I have been absolutely certain I had hooded eyes. Thanks to you Mr. Goss I now know my eyes are deep set. ☺️ Even tho this type of makeup doesn't suit my eye shape, I still watch it fully because you are amazing sir! 🤗
Love these tutorials. This looked so different on me! I wish it made my eyes look bigger but it does lift the eye a bit and makes them look a little less hooded.
Thank you Wayne! This is how I do my eyeshadow. I found using a small angled eyeshadow brush for the outer corner (contour shade) to be really helpful.
Thank you SO much for this tutorial, I have followed your other hooded eye tutorial and did get frustrated as I had more mobile lid. You have talked about patting in the crease before and I used that technique whish really helped. Can't wait to try this out. Thank you again 😃🌞👍🙏💖
Thank you Wayne, as always everything we could need to know and explained brilliantly. My number one go to for advice and tutorials, I trust you completely for your experience and expertise, not to mention that you are a beautiful man inside and out. I love you!
New subscriber I honestly use to dislike my eyes small and very hooded until I came across your videos and how much depth you go into, you do a fantastic tutorials and now I'm starting to enjoy watching your videos while you are explaining. Thank you.
I love Wayne’s tutorials! Straight to the point and so we’ll explained. I also don’t feel like he’s selling me products he’s just teaching. Thanks Wayne!
Thank you so much, Wayne! I am an old with hooded eyes and I have slowly and painstakingly worked this out. It's nice to see i have it right, and that others will not have such s hard time.
I used your eyeshadow technique when doing my makeup for a big event last weekend. I think it looks so much better and updated than my old way. I wish I had known about this years ago! Thank you!🤗
OH MY GOODNESS!! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! 😊 I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR A EYESHADOW VIDEO TO COME OUT THAT I COULD ACTUALLY USE ON MY HOODED EYES AND ACTUALLY HAVE MY EYESHADOW LOOK GOOD!! THANK YOU!!!!
Thank you so much for this, I always thought I could not wear eyeshadow because of my hooded eyes, but now I am fully experimenting with different colours and it looks great!
This is the FIRST (I'm being quite literal here) tutorial I've ever seen that truly addressed the problem of "skin that freakin' moves" when you do that windshield wiper thing. Good grief, that's actually quite sad when I think about it. I'm staring at 51 in the near future and the only place where I seem to have this problem is in that outer 1/3 of each eye. Still plenty of visible mobile lid on the inner 2/3 of the entire eye.....but that outer 1/3 is falling fast and apparently it's having a block party and inviting all the loose skin in the neighborhood to congregate there. So yep, definitely appreciated this Master Class and the Professor who provided it. Much love and ,many thanks, Mr. Goss.
Great. Is so much fun to watch. You are so cristal clear and your words go hand in hand with what you do. Make up was never fun until now. There are always videos from "beautiful people" with a perfect facial symmetry. And they always push the pencil into THEIR crease and babbel a lot and fast and not to the point. Thank you so much. Huggs Julia from Germany
Wayne, you’re such an angel. So kind. Thank you for including us older people! You are such a good teacher and it looks nice!!!!

This was a fantastic video! And I just love listening to your gentle voice so much, I wish you would narrate a story in the calm app!
Thank you Wayne for adding that you can do this with bright colors. I’ve been waiting for this video.💜.Your products are supreme your advice priceless.
Beautiful advice. Hope you’re doing well and taking care of yourself, big hugs.
Thank you so much Wayne! I think this might just work for me. Your smile is a beautiful thing.
We appreciate *your* time too you gorgeous man!! Thanks Wayne, a great way to wind down after work is by watching your videos. 🙏⚘
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this.
I need to be able to put two thumbs up on this! I've really been struggling lately as my eyes become more and more hooded. Thank you so much Wayne!
XoXo 😘
Thanks for reminding the dolls we can lift these eyes and look fabulous❤
Thank you Wayne. I have always had hooded eyes, and now, at the age of 75, it’s all pretty ‘mobile’. So this will be something I think will work for me. One question though, I do have a lot of ‘real estate’ between my eyes and my brows … I am assuming this will still work the same way. 💖
I love you! I have had hooded eyes even when I was young, at 54 they hit my lash line. Your a lifesaver. Thank you so much.
BTW, they probably won't develop hoodedness at an even rate either, so that's a fun one. I pray for us both!
Would also love eyeliner tips for wrinkly eyes! Thanks so much for sharing your considerable knowledge 😎💖
I love the way you teach us. You are an artist for all not just perfect people. This is so appreciated
Thank you for this. I'm at that age and I am struggling so much that I just gave up trying for a while. There aren't many videos for us. Thank you!
I have the trifecta of hooded, crepe-y and movable lids. I love eyeshadow and enjoy application because of your tutorials ❣❣❣
Thank you so much. I had Botox in my forehead a few weeks back with a new clinic. There was way too much above my eyebrows, so now my eyelids have disappeared under the hoods. I’ve struggled with makeup since.
Wow! Thanks so very much ❤ My eyes are very hooded & I have not been able to get other tutorials to work. Thank you, thank you 😊
Thank you for not forgetting us older people. My eyes are starting to sag some but I have large eyes so it’s not quite as hard for me to do eyeshadow. You made applying those lashes look so easy! I have worn false lashes a bit but they aren’t very comfortable or easy to remove. Thanks for not forgetting us! Thanks 😊
Thank you Wayne! Thank you for all the wonderful tips and tricks. You seem like such a lovely human being❤️
This is so helpful, I wish there was a video about evening up uneven eyes.
Love you Wayne! Everything.. you’re calming voice is so soothing and you are my favorite make up artist of all time!
I have hooded eyes, and have always thought they were gorgeous on celebrities but hated my own! I am excited to try these techniques, hopefully I can learn to love my eye shape ❤️
Wayne, YOU are gorgeous inside and out. So helpful and beautiful result. Just love you! Want those lasjes!
Thanks for all that you bring to us. I have somewhat hooded eyes, they used to be very hooded but I had blepharoplasty which helped a LOT. You are gorgeous yourself and we appreciate the time that you share with us!. Can’t wait to try this.
I have hooded eyes and lately I’ve been working more on technique so I have always appreciated your tips so much thank you 🙌🏽😘
I have such hooded eyes. I appreciate your addressing this issue as I was not sure how to work with them! Now I know! Thanks!!
Such a master make-up artist. Following you for more than a decade and still learning from you. You're awesome. God bless. 😊
For years I have been absolutely certain I had hooded eyes. Thanks to you Mr. Goss I now know my eyes are deep set. ☺️
Even tho this type of makeup doesn't suit my eye shape, I still watch it fully because you are amazing sir!
That is so awesome! Simple, light and subtle colors beside black/brown!
I love you!
You always give such great instructions for us to be able to follow. Thank you so much, you’re definitely appreciated!
Thanks Wayne! I will try this tomorrow using mascara!
Thank you for simplifying this. I have tried and tried with little success to shade and shape my hooded eyes. Love watching and learning from you.
New subscriber I honestly use to dislike my eyes small and very hooded until I came across your videos and how much depth you go into, you do a fantastic tutorials and now I'm starting to enjoy watching your videos while you are explaining. Thank you.
Finally a video on Mature Hooded Eyes with loose skin everywhere.. great video so helpful, thank you
I love Wayne’s tutorials!
I love you Wayne you gorgeous human. Always thinking about what we need. Love this look. It may become my go to look.
That is a great look! Thanks for posting this video!
I’ve been watching Wayne since I’m 15 and fell in love at first with makeup, you have teach me so much! ✨✨✨ thanks 💕
Goss.
Lol!!
I appreciate all the videos you do for hooded eyes❤️❤️ *hugs
