Nice video, reel is 1000 but with that retrieve rate of 29" its like fishing a 2500 reel, my opion. Best spoon 2nd year in a row thomas bouyant for san diego area lakes
RJ!!! Yea man, really good to see you, thanks so much for saying hi, otherwise I would've missed you. Would love to fish with ya one of these days brotha!! Tight lines!
@@BenjieKimFishing definitely man right when i heard your voice i knew it was you😂! I’m always down to fish, learn or have more great adventures brotha, lets do it soon 🤙🏻
Greatly appreciate the kind comment and it blows my mind that you're watching from so far away. Really cool stuff! Hope you're able to stay warm. It's been "cold" here too but that's an extremely relative characterization haha. Tight lines!
@BenjieKimFishing I watch a lot of you halibut videos , we get flounder over here, but I like using hardbaits to catch them , I use lucky craft 78 dd but I wanna try the LC flash Minnow 110 pinky punch this coming summer and see how it does ? What color do you use for halibut ? Thnx again Benjie
Thanks so much brotha, Yorba's definitely one of my favorite local ponds during trout season. Just gotta hit it the first couple days after they plant and there's a pretty good chance for having a fun little bite. Tight lines!
@@BenjieKimFishing On friday I went in the afternoon with my fly rod and 2 other spinning rods and went around the whole lake to find them. They were just mainly swimming around shallow the whole lake not really schooling. I just stayed in a cove and used flies and power worms and got them.
Thanks Marco! It's def nice to have the option of making a short drive to make a few casts. I'm lucky to have a bit more time to plan trips but most folks are grinding it out at work so it's nice to be able to get out and make a few casts before or after work.
Were those your friends with u on the docks? Idk how yall fish like that. Ill see the younger kids elbot to elbow and curious of their generations fishing culture. Compared to the older generation, i thought they'd prefer more space, any thoughts on that? Whats proper etiquette now a days, its okay as long as they ask or do the younger kids just come in and cast without saying a word? 😂 Thanks in advance, trout season has been fun so far!
Man it was tough but you were the hot stick.🔥 Thanks for letting me slide in for couple of cast Benjie 🤙
Catching them among the crowds! Nice looking fish and you landed lots. That lunker looked snagged
Dope, you should explore the Kern River…

Got the best bite with a gold spoon 🍻
Thanks for the pro tip! Gotta try it one of these days for sure....
@ 🤣 definitely not pro just pro good vibes and love sharing and learning… learned so much watching you my man 🍻

On the X braid you use do you have to use some backing line on your reel ?
Great question - I don't have any backing but it's def not a bad idea as you'll never make it to the end of the spool. Tight lines!
Great vid bro quick question how long is your fluro leader..? And what type of spoon and gram where you using
Biiteeerr🎣🔥
Tight lines!
What day of the week do they usually get stocked ?
Man I went there friday and sunday hoping to meet you, bite was tough on Sunday but I still got around 10 and 15 on friday.
Oh dang this was from Friday, you slayed em! I was grateful for the 6 I got (missed one on the camera…). Hope to see ya at another pond this season!

Love these local stocked lakes for children...
This being 5 min from my house and it has playgrounds for my kids to play on, I’m stoked anytime it gets stocked.
