  • Ever wanted to know how to install a lift kit, Well now you can watch me install this step by step. I was fortunate enough to help my buddy with his vehicle, this is basically his dream truck he's been talking about for awhile, and he's worked hard to make it a reality. I was glad to get to have a small part in making it come together. Hope you like it, and if possible, post up some comments about what you liked about the video, what I could do differently, or what you would have liked to see in more detail.
    This is just the first of the new Automotive 'centric videos on this channel where I explain in detail how to repair and customize various vehicles. I appreciate your time today and thanks for watching the video!

    Would this void the factory warranty?

    • @ReignitedAuto
      @ReignitedAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      That's a great question, and one that doesn't have a perfect answer. I can only speak to my experience as a dealership tech. Technically, installing the lift should only affect your warranty based on the factory parts that would be directly affected, like ball joints, tie rid ends. Wheels bearings, ect... But 95% of the time it comes down to your relationship with the dealer, usually if you bought the truck from them they are willing to overlook the lift and cover everything. If you didn't buy from them, or are consistently a pain in the butt for them, they can easily claim the lift caused this issue or that issue and won't cover it. They can even stretch this to say the larger tires caused a premature trans failure ect... Unfortunately the factory leaves this sort of leeway up to the dealers and they don't have a lot of sympathy for the owner if they've modified the vehicle. Short answer, check with your selling dealer before you do it, some are cool about it, others not so much.

      Make sure you have a very good relationship with your dealership. Many excuses can be used to void your warranty thus you need a great relationship. If it's a personal home install it will almost guarantee a void.

    Instead of loosing your steering rack, take out the other 2 bolts from the differential, loosen the bolt in question in then push the passenger side of the differential toward the rear slightly and it will give it enough angle to easily clear the steering linkage.

I replaced them with a lifted set of upper control arms which made more room but now they make contact in a different location. The F150 uses the same front part numbers as Expedition. At the moment it is lifted with a 3” shock spacer and Monroe 2” lift shocks but set on the lowest setting that seems higher than stock. I’m wondering if you have any ideas for lifting an Expedition of this generation. I really like my expedition and don’t want to get rid of it. Thanks

    What’s your thought here? I have a 2020 F150 FX4 Supercrew with a 3 inch ReadyLIFT kit installed by the dealer. Bought it drove it 2hrs home and noticed a left front tire rub. Took it back days later and they “fixed” that. Then about a week later I developed a sight wobble. Two balances later (2 in one day at 2 different shops) we minimized the wobble. Then in just three weeks it started pulling right more than usual. Took it to a local dealer, they did an alignment. Left and I had a significant pull left. Had another alignment done at a local tire shop and the pull remained. Rotated the tires and the pull remained with a worse wobble. A 4x4 shop AND the 2nd alignment shop both said it was the tires. I bought 4 new AT Tires and the pull/wobble remains. It’s now back at the original dealer with video of what it’s doing sent to them. I have receipts for everything including pre- and post-alignment #’s. In your opinion...and I know Ford will decide how to go, what might be the issue? BTW the truck only has 2300 miles on it...yes 2,300 not 23k.

    • @ReignitedAuto
      @ReignitedAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was trying to find a little more info on the ReadyLIFT kits, looks like it's just a coil spacer in the front and lift block in the back correct? What size tires did you end up going with? Are you still on the stock wheels or do you have aftermarket wheels? The only reason I ask that is because most aftermarket wheels have a larger hub bore diameter than stock, and they require the use of a plastic ring spacer to make them fit perfectly. Sometimes if you don't have that spacer it can cause a wobble.

    • @Trout2054

      @@ReignitedAuto maybe that’s it. I wish I could attach a photo here. Ford put Cooper Discoverer LT285/65R20’s on there and I have a photo showing no pre-load spacer in the front. I bought (at the recommendation of the shop) Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 285/6520’s.

      @@ReignitedAuto yeah about that size. I agree. I sent the Ford dealership a video of the bad wobble. It’s not a “death wobble” but it’s severe with that left pull. When I go over an overpass on the interstate, the front end feels like it wants to get loose.

      I actually did an entire video about this if you're interested, but the short version is, the warranty is only affected by the components that the suspension directly affect. 👍

    Lol....take all parts out, then decide if you're able to complete the job or not ...seems like a lot of wasted effort. If you're still deciding by that time.....anyway
