We used this kit with vortex coils and rear shocks, replaced the heavy leaf spring with a weaver progressive leaf, all on a swb 2014 f150 4x4. It eats up Hawaiian back roads.
funny they don't mention or show the camber bolts in the lower control arm. I had a nice little battle with some today. I also have a feeling I'm gonna need a differential drive shaft spacer, even they say I don't need one for the 08" f150 kit. I wish I had a big truck lift like these guys. my back is chewed up from crawling around under the truck.
Eric Main Our products are designed and engineered to be easy-to-install allowing anyone with any level of experience to get into off-roading. If you have enough time and read the instructions carefully, you'll find it's not so scary. If you're uncomfortable doing it yourself or just want the piece of mind that the install was done correctly, we recommend professional installation by experienced installers at one of our Rough Country dealers: www.roughcountry.com/dealer-locator/
It’s a lot easier than you think it’s just a lot of stuff crammed into on end goal. If you do your own Service on you truck, breaks, trans, spark plugs, differential etc... you should be good
Any chance you could do an installation video on a 2022 frontier??? That would be great. I think a lot of people are going to buy these trucks. I'm getting the 6" lift for mine
Hello....my son bought a dealer installed RC 6inch lift on a 2016 F150. When he turns sharp in either direction, it appears the tie rod hits the coil on the bottom part of the strut. Is this something that is normal or is there something that is not installed correctly ?
Okay, I have my 6" RC lift at home and getting it installed in April 12th. I am wanting to gain some more lift and wondering if I order a set of 1.5" add-a-leafs for the rear on top of the 6" blocks in the kit and a set of 0-2" adjustable pro comp pro runner ss shocks for the front with the 6" spacer from the kit, will this work? Thanks in advance.
Getting ready order a rough country 6" for my 2012 f150. Been thinking tho, if I get the kit with the lifted struts and add a 3" inch spacers on top of those I can lift the front 9"?? Not really concerned about the rear, u bolts and blocks can be acquired lol.. just wondering if there would be any issues adding those 3" to the front.
It’s been a year, I’m assuming you already did it but I added a 2 inch puck over the vertex coilovers and got 8 inches at the front but my upper control arm angle isn’t too happy. I’m thinking of going back to 6 this week, I’ll be removing the puck
I have a 6in lift on mine and im not really happy with it. It came on the truck. What would it take to drop it down to a 4in? Would i have to buy a whole new kit or just a few parts ?
I'm looking at the Mickey Thompson Baja radial SLT 36x15.50 R20 LT for my 2015 F150 would those tire work ok with a 6 inch suspension and a 3 inch body lift?
Richard Andrews With the lifts on the vehicle you will be able to clear the height of the tire but the width would be my concern when turning, you would need to research the proper backspacing of wheels to allow clearance.
Sorry we do not offer a front strut for that 2WD option. Our kit allows you to retain the stock struts on that kit. You would need to replace with the stock struts.
Getting that big mud tire growling sound but only have street tires. Also have mild vibration. is drive shaft suposed to be out about an inch due to lift. Took it to guys who installed it and he says it's normal. is it
I have a 2013 f150 xlt 4x4 standered cab with the 8ft box and i have a 2.5 front level and i cant run 35x12.50 tires.. do you guys have a 4 inch suspension lift for my type of truck
EODMARINE 1993 We have a 4-inch and 6-inch Suspension Lift Kit that should fit any 2013 F-150 model. www.roughcountry.com/suspension-lift-kits/ford-suspension-lift-kits.html?vehicle_drive=3&vehicle_model=281&vehicle_year=62
hello... your differential drop brackets are too weak. They move. I have your kit installed on a 2004 and the top differential bracket broke off the frame. I welded it back but this exact same issue happened on a 2010 i had.
If you would please contact us at 1-800-222-7023 we would be glad to warranty that piece for you, it is covered under a lifetime warranty. Thank you for your feedback and we will be glad to assist you if you would like to contact us on this matter.
To run 35-inch tires, you'll need the 2.5-inch Leveling kit or the 6-inch Lift Kit. You can run 33-inch tires with the 4-inch Lift Kit. www.roughcountry.com/suspension-lift-kits/ford-suspension-lift-kits.html?vehicle_model=281&vehicle_year=61
Have you been able to isolate where the popping noises are coming from? Has the vehicle been aligned? Ball joints good? Tie rods good? Sway bar links tight?

PillCosby The only two options to lift a vehicle are a body lift or a suspension lift. A body lift consists of separating the body of the truck from the frame leaving the suspension in the factory position. This kit is a suspension lift due to the fact that it raises the height of the vehicle by changing/adding components that directly effect the truck's suspension system(spindles, cross members, strut spacers, blocks). Many people prefer a suspension lift over a body lift because it not only allows room for a larger tire but increases the ground clearance of the vehicle which a body lift will not accomplish.
This video was just meant to be a quick overview of the install. This specific vehicle's bolts are all torqued to spec off-camera. We include all the appropriate specs in the manual for those that are different from factory and factory specs can be found in the vehicle's service manual.

this is awesome video! i love learning about this stuff
Very nice detailed instructions. I learned a lot of information in this video.
Thanks you. Appreciate the comment.
@@RoughCountryTV can I order just the front and read crossmember!??
Great video. You make it simple enough that a novice like me can follow it.

Awesome lifts RC.! 👍👍
This truck is like brand new no rust would be nice lol
+Sandeep Singh We recommend 35" tires with our 4" kit for the F-150.
when buying the 7 inch kit does it come with the whole kit for front and rear?
Yes. All of our kits are complete kits, but we don't make a 7-inch for an F-150. We do for GM model trucks, though.
I would be scared to do this myself. So much could go wrong

so the template for cutting comes with the kit?
Hey I need a detailed video explaining brake line bracket installation? Any chance I can get that? The instructions you sent me aren’t very good.
id use the impact wrench on the brake lines
Ik this video is 7 years old and you probably don’t know but will I have to buy new upper control arms with this lift or can I use the old ones
I have a level kit on my truck now could I leave it on and put the 6 inch lift on
At 7:49 doesn't that sound like Night Train by Jason Aldean?

What size tires do y'all recommend on the RCX 2.5 inch level kit?
Great!!! What model and size of tire and wheel appears in this video? Tks...
WHAT SWAY BARS DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR A 6 INCH LIFT ON A 2007 F150 2WD ?? Thanks

What way do the rear mounting blocks go? One side has a higher angle than the other side.
The bigger end of the block will to the rear and the lower side to the front of the vehicle.
Rough Country thanks! My 2013 f-150 looks great w/the 6” lift! 🤙🏼
OK, I like the stance but cutting into my expensive truck turns me off. Can I run a 2.5" without cutting? How about the 4 inch?
+Payton Knapp as long as you run the proper wheel and tire combo you will not have to do any trimming.
2.5” will barley fit a 33” and trust me you will end up wanting to go bigger and higher. Everything they cut can be replaced relatively affordably.
IrishSavage87 Can never go back to stock without welding and it won’t be as strong as factory
I have a 6in lift on mine and im not really happy with it. It came on the truck. What would it take to drop it down to a 4in? Would i have to buy a whole new kit or just a few parts ?
Get new tires
Big tires you have small wheels that why
I'm looking at the Mickey Thompson Baja radial SLT 36x15.50 R20 LT for my 2015 F150 would those tire work ok with a 6 inch suspension and a 3 inch body lift?
Richard Andrews With the lifts on the vehicle you will be able to clear the height of the tire but the width would be my concern when turning, you would need to research the proper backspacing of wheels to allow clearance.
I notice the rear blocks are slanted a little. Is the slanted side supposed to be towards the front or rear!?
Bigger end of the block goes to the rear of the vehicle and tapers down to the front of the vehicle.
Rough Country is this to get the angle of the diff pointing up? Also is oil added to the differential since its at a different angle?
The link doesn’t work is there another?
Will a 4inch lift keep the same geometry for the tie rod ends controlarms and ball joints?
On the 4" kit the geometry is retained and the kept at optimal angles with the design of the kit and the aftermarket components
Does rc sell front shocks for a 2014 ford f150 2wd? I got this 6in kit installed and got my rear ones replaced now im wanting the front ones done
Sorry we do not offer a front strut for that 2WD option. Our kit allows you to retain the stock struts on that kit. You would need to replace with the stock struts.
Why put a lift on 2wd?? That’s like having a gun you can’t buy bullets for🤦♂️
Getting that big mud tire growling sound but only have street tires. Also have mild vibration. is drive shaft suposed to be out about an inch due to lift. Took it to guys who installed it and he says it's normal. is it
thecatboy123456 Does your vehicle have a 2 piece driveshaft in the rear?
Is there a need for a drop down bracket for the transfer case? How extreme are the angles with these types of lifts?
This comes with the diff drops and crossmember so there is no need for the t case drop.
Rough Country if the transfer case stays put and you drop the front end how does that not effect the transfer case?
What lift kit do I have to use for a 1987 ford bronco xlt
What was the wheel and tire set up on the second picture? The silver truck

I want 35 "tires on my 2010 f150 what should i start with first a levelin kit are a 6" lift kit or should I get my tires first
ELLE W You could run the leveling kit but it will have to be on factory wheels to fit 35's.
ELLE W do the 6” lift... buy once cry once... go on the f150 forum and see what everyone else run. I’m on 35” with offsets

You play too hard in a grocery getter, buy a raptor for your trophy truck needs😂
Is this the same for 2010?
2.5 inch is what I've been told but it won't have the stance that this one has that they just and installed the six inch on...

Rough Country Wait..why did you say you can run 33" with the 4" lift?
Does Rough Country offer an 8 inch suspension lift kit for the 2915 F150"
Richard Andrews Unfortunately not, the 6" kit you viewed in the video is the highest amount of lift we offer for the F-150.
ok then that will be my pick.
So, the steering rack STAYS IN THE SAME PLACE???

i have a 2014 f150 4x4 xlt with the 6 inch lift and now i have horrible popping noises in the front end while in 4x4. why is this happening?
Have you been able to isolate where the popping noises are coming from? Has the vehicle been aligned?
Ball joints good? Tie rods good? Sway bar links tight?
Fail😂😂😂
Do 2wd f150 sit this tall
how much does a complete job like that go for? (without the rims)
T Solano The kit is on sale at this time for $999.95, you would need to consider additional cost of labor for approximately 8-10 hours. You can view the kit at the following link.

Can I have 17 inch wheels?
U never tightened lower control bolts threw me off
I bought a kit from rc website anyone know how much the labour is going to cost for the mechanic to install.
Labor rates will vary but the industry standard is $100 per inch or $85/$95 per hour depending on the shop.
How long did this take to complete??
RammedSane took me 8 hours with a helper and I have an average mechanical ability and tools
Was it absolutely necessary to cut for the rear cross member
Does lifting a truck dramatically decrease the truck life or gas mileage?
Yes MPG will decrease when lifting or leveling any vehicle. What size tires you run can be the biggest factor in loss of MPG.
Yes you have to pay to play!
You gotta pay to play bud.
How much would it cost to have this done professionally
Industry Standard Rates are $100 per inch or $85-$95 per hour.
How is this a suspension lift?
PillCosby The only two options to lift a vehicle are a body lift or a suspension lift. Rough Country
Thanks, I see a lot of stuff but ultimately this looks like blocks added to the suspension to me, which makes it a block lift.
+PillCosby and block is a part of suspension
Better to be pissed off then pissed on
His hand didn't get dirty till half way through the video when i do mine my hands will be black halfway through the first wheel removal lol
Debating between 4inch lift and 6 inch... CANNOT make up my damn mind lol.
Both good kits. Just a matter of what ride height you want and tire size you want to run.
i wouldnt go less than 6 inch, im not going to. once i get the 6 inch lift i wanna make it to like 8 inch or smth
Get those damn chrome socket's off the impact geez they will exploded
Uh no they won’t lol all they’ll do is split
No way I can do it by myself.
Look at my vids for mods ❤️
