  • I made an FCX24 with a Land Cruiser hard body and put all the mods I dreamed of, a Furitek Carbon chassis, Treal metal axles, Treal metal transmission gears, brass portal covers, oil shocks, brass custom links and much much more!!

    Great to see one built into a trail truck. Got to love the treal axles and gears. Got them too and the smoothness is unbelievable. Btw, the treal hubs instead of the stock plastic seal the front portal cover against dirt and add 2mm to the width making use of any wheels possible.

      That's exactly what I was planning to do in a 6x6 truck, probably on FCX24 portal axles and a long carbon chassis I can make at home... Still deciding what cabin to use, if an FMS Unimog (Mogrich) or the upcoming Unimog from CR-18...

    I have 'discovered' your channel today and already watched a few of your videos - really great, I appreciate the details you share. You got an immediate follow from me and I am looking forward to your future videos. Please do share the details how you customize your cars - you do a great job and a beginner (like me) could really profit from details on how to improve these little crawlers (I will definitely be getting one for myself, just not sure yet which one).
    We recently got (for your 5 year old, lol) the EazyRC Glacier (what in my understanding is coming from the same fab as FMS) in 1:18. It is a lovely looking car, but it does not impress too much in a way it drives. It definitely needs oil shocks, but it really needs metal gears in the gearbox - as the plastic ones keep skipping under strong load. Do you know whether we are going to see metal gears for that one too?

    • @microrigs
      @microrigs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the sub! Yeah, I plan to start publishing videos covering the basic DIY stuff to start building and modifying trucks. For the Glacier I'm not sure, but there are metal gears for the FMS LC80 and FJ Cruiser, if by chance they have the same gearbox you can use it for sure. I'm tempted to buy a Hilux of the same platform, and research a bit on them to see what can be done.

    • @donaldsneffe
      @donaldsneffe ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@microrigs LOL ;-)
      I will stop MCCT, this is sooooo much work to do, and the videos do only have about 1/2 - 1/3 of the views my very simply "I made a truck" (or whatever) videos do have. Such a simple "on the bench" video is maybe 20 - 30% of the work of an MCCT-episode. Still would have about 10 trucks to test, and a ton of modified ones, could be a neverending story... but I think, this is a good baseline now.
      Even did already film months ago a stock SCX24 with brushless (Mofo Nanobeast, Furitek Lizard) setup, it was not even able to climb all the obstacles anymore (what it could in stock form), even worse with the Komodo. But will not edit this filming and publish it, because people do not want to hear this...
      Absolutely ridiculous actually when people for example try to "upgrade" the FCX24 motor and talk about the "good Mofo motors" (LOL - you have seen my brushed motor test video and maybe the tests of Texoma with Mofo against Injora and Hobby Plus).
      Buy every upgrade part you can, and make a video about this part and best including affiliate links, those will be the most successful YT videos for micros.
      There are many awesome tiny channels out there, such as yours, which really make top videos and top mods and work on/with their rigs, not only buy new upgrade stuff and change "plug and play", ... and they get only very few clicks.
      Example: Maybe you do already know this channel, if not, check it out, from Hungary. Really nice content: th-cam.com/channels/cY7g6WnhrwbSHedzfzLmjg.html

      @microrigs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@donaldsneffe Yeah I can imagine. It's normal, average people just want to see trucks and parts, just a few of us are really looking for the draw amperage of a motor or the real servo power of an Emax...
      I also have a Komodo, and yes it's ultra smooth, but heavy, very high mounted, slow and noisy, I replaced that motor for a 050 and now the car is way more stable, but people don't like to hear their 120 bucks parts are crap for what they want.
      I recently discovered the Amewi 1151 servo from Germany (tamico) working at 3.5kg on 6v and found them at almost same price as the emax, with an internal build quality playing in a whole new league... But people prefer to spend +100 bucks in a 12kg servo for a rig that nearly weights 1kg... Well, ok, good for you.
      I never do this for the views, but to give back to people what I've taken in first place. I learned everything from channels like yours and similar, and want to show some people what they can do with little practice and little money.

    • @donaldsneffe
      @donaldsneffe ปีที่แล้ว

      @@microrigs I think like you. I do what I am intererested in ;-) - We will see if there will be future MCCTs.
      But since I watch quite a lot of TH-cam (no TV), sometimes I nearly get angry if I see those "selling videos".
      Amewi is not a real "brand". It is a German (?) company that rebrands Chinese products and sells those for rather super expensive prices here in Austria, Germany, ... nearly every local hobbyshop has them. For example they sell the expensive HG military trucks for "super expensive", but also cheap WPL/MN trucks, and they sell the Hobby Plus trucks (CR-18 and CR-24) as AMXRock, also the Chinese TRX4 "clones". For example I bought my first CR-24 (the Defender I modded and made some vids, incl. MCCT) as Amewi. They also sold the Nine Eagles helicopters days ago, and much, much more.
      Normally Amewi is way too expensive, because you always get the exact same model or part for a much cheaper price.
      If you search in some of our shops (for example lindinger.at, der-schweighofer.at, d-m-t.at, conrad.at) for Amewi, you will get a ton of results and you will know most of the trucks etc. under different names.

    • @microrigs
      @microrigs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh interesting! In this case the Amewi 1151 is an incredible servo for a decent price, around 20€, with more than 3kg, really fast, all metal, and when I open it to shorten the cable I found all the sealings, soldering and materials to be really really good, way better than Emax and others. I just can't justify spending more money than that in a servo as I don't think I'll be needing more torque or speed than that. Worth taking a look and try it!
      Of course, if we can find the original Chinese servo behind it, it would be the best finding ever!!
