I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in the states. You know what we have on our beaches? Sand. We have sand. I get so jealous watching mudlarking videos!😂
Go to scientific cliffs by Chesapeake city!! You can find fossils and shark teeth and lots more!!! The Chesapeake has a very rich history!!! Do some research and you can find lots of places to search!!!!
That seal is absolutely gorgeous!! I live in North Texas 🇨🇱 and I would love mudlarking the Thames, that is on my bucket list!! Thank you for sharing your awesome adventure with me! Love you guys! 🇬🇧 🇺🇸
It is incredible something so tiny & precious can be found kicking around the pebbles and mud - well spotted indeed! Nice to think it could be Roman...
It must be your eagle eyesight, with a touch of luck, for you to find something drop dead amazing on most of your hunts. The intaglio seal is truly gorgeous! Very creative shadow play filming the type - you will come up with great way to repurpose it, Simon. Thank you for sharing your larks.
Wow! That intaglio is just WONderful! I think if I found even a tiny fraction of what you all find, I'd just pass out cold in the mud! Cheers from Maine, USA!
Agreed! From Maine here as well! (on the coast about an hour from Augusta) & although I have a few good finds myself (2 pronged colonial bone fork, half a large colonial cook pot, what I think is an indian hide scraper, indian trade bead & pottery fragments) I'm always so jealous of his finds!
Oh wow I love the bottle seal and your stamp in fact I love everything found , I think I’ve learned more about history than I ever did at school tfs xx
17:27 Hey Si, AMAZING FIND! 👏👏👏Definitely a Roman intaglio! That is the distinct profile of a Roman Centurion Trooper, with plumed helmet, cheek plates and plated, armored garments.
Always amazed to see history coming back to life, and how much you people know. However I think about the owners of the various bits and pieces and what their lives and surroundings would have been like. Keep up the good work.
I really needed a good hearty laugh this morning, and your toilet referrals on the intaglio hit me just right😊🤭😂🤣. And that glass seal🤩, what a stunner!! And a perfect replication in the mud, WOW!! Beautiful weather 🌞🌤️!!! Sending positive vibes and 🙏's for good health and safety in your travels. And always...🤞🍀lucky finds.🤗🤭😘
Ah that was great Si, I loved the stuff with the type set that you have found. The old guy at the end singing was a star- I'm sure I could see a lad having a wee against the siding in the background though!
The guy at the end playing keyboards on the beach was really great! I loved the intaglio. Here's hoping it's Roman. It's still an awesome find if it's Georgian!
Seeing how unabashed the Romans were about going to the toilet, considering that pinching the morning loaf was a social occasion, it would be wonderfully ironic if the seal WAS for somebody who made a good living building sewers and latrines. It's a fantastic find though, even if it is a chap sitting on his thinking seat.
Ive really enjoyed the music in all of your videos. Nice contemporary feel that just fits with your personality and all your finds and adventures. Love that you included the adorable entertainer at the end!
Well done, Si! Great finds and I really enjoyed this video! The bit where you brought the camera close to ground and skimmed the surface was cool! I'm excited to find out more about the intaglio!
Si, this video is world class, enjoyed the incredible artistic display at the end, beautifully presented... and the gentleman rocker was a bonus.. love your channel ♥️
I inherited my father’s button tools he used in a factory in OHIO;USA. Before I was born. They are approximately 95 years old. My treasure! I live in Kentucky ,USA . Many Divers use to dive for muscle shells in my state ,in one of the world’s largest man made lakes. Kentucky Lake. They sold them to Asians for other reasons. Long story. I like your videos.
Be comforted, when I was a kid we lived on the line of flints that ran across the North Downs, and we used to call natural flints with holes in "fairy stones", rather than "holy stones" and treasure them. I've still got some I picked up 70 years ago!
Oh i was right near there Thursday...I had some good finds. Maybe one day I will bump into you. Thanks for getting me hooked on TGIs wonderful hobby. Good luck in the muck Si 😁
Si! Ty for the great hunt and video! Love all the finds. It's so amazing what you and Nic find on the Thames. I so wish someday I could visit, get a permit, and and do some mudlarking. Thanks again Simon. Kelly/Indiana
Salutations from Singapore. Awesome videos always. Just love how you bring us so low to the ground 'effect' just make you feel that we are there with you. Stay awesome. 🙋🏾♀️📸🥰❣️🌹
I think that is Roman! What a find! I am so glad I found you! You all keep me so excited with what’s next? I just love history and with each find, u hold a piece of history in ur hands. B safe and stay well!
Throne..toilet..not too far off!! Seriously, it's gorgeous!! Thanks for the sunny trek along the Thames!! The outro was awesome!! Good rendition of a golden oldie!!
A little funny... I just started watching your videos not long ago and the first few videos l thought you were saying, “hello my lovers” of course l came to realize it was “mud lovers”. I still hear it from time to time. 🥴🤷🏼♀️😂
As usual Mr. Simon, you have found a way to bring back the most interesting relics to life. It is of course the thrill of finding them... but I'm sure there is more of a thrill in finding out their history. Well done!
Your finds Si are amazing. That little red seal is so pretty and so small it’s a wonder that you found it, way to go. You two always seem to find the best stuff down there keep it up I love to watch you.
What a hoard of beauts you found Si! Amazing. I'll wait for what the outcome is and hopefully see it in the comments but I think it's even earlier than Roman..weird gut feeling lol
Oh happy day! What some fabulous finds. Can't wait to find out about the age of the intaglio! It's beautiful. Nicola's stash bag was found in the 'nick' of time! A successful time was had by all. And I love the idea of some postcards with the old typeface pieces!
Loved the video, Si. Great production, mate. Well done. I’m keeping my fingers crossed the intaglio is Roman. It has that Roman feel to it. Keep us posted. 👍🤙
Great video as usual.. Love the seal you found. I still can't believe you find such tiny things in all those rocks, gravel and mud. Surely you And Nicola have 20/20 eyesight. The things ya'll find are amazing.. Thanks so much for sharing with us all since we are trying to stay in more right now with this virus stuff.. Really good to have positive videos to watch.
The impression on the rock would have been super if you got it out. Great finds. It always amazes me how the smallest thing can zero you back to a point in time.
9:26- "The Imprint of History" would be a great name for a mudlarking channel. Beautiful finds so far. Hope you're all doing well and taking the necessary precautions.
That Intaglio is absolutely stunning! It never ceases to amaze me the small pieces of history that can be found in those little patches of metal on the foreshore. It really is incredible the beautiful pieces of history that can be found. Kate found some beautiful tokens or one could be a 13th century coin in our last video! I really have to start wearing glasses on the close search as I am missing things! Brilliant video as per usual :)
I'm finally getting time to catch up with my favorite mud larks! Another nice video and finds! Going to check the community section to see what came of the intaglio. I do hope you are well, happy and safe!
I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in the states. You know what we have on our beaches? Sand. We have sand. I get so jealous watching mudlarking videos!😂
I know! I’d die for the chance to go there to do this with them!
Me too!
I feel like you could find cool stuff in Maryland if you knew where to look. I heard there are old bottle dumps around the old colonies.
Brenda Jones NJ here. SAME!!!! I'm so jealous!!
Go to scientific cliffs by
Chesapeake city!! You can find fossils and shark teeth
and lots more!!! The Chesapeake has a very
rich history!!! Do some research and you can find

I love when you tell us the history of a relic you have found. It sort of completes the stories. Well done Si xx
That seal is absolutely gorgeous!! I live in North Texas 🇨🇱 and I would love mudlarking the Thames, that is on my bucket list!! Thank you for sharing your awesome adventure with me! Love you guys! 🇬🇧 🇺🇸
I’m in north Texas too! I was talking to my daughter about mudlarking and wondering what we’d find here lol 🇬🇧 🇺🇸🇨🇱
“Thmaes” really got me
Kat F lol
It is incredible something so tiny & precious can be found kicking around the pebbles and mud - well spotted indeed! Nice to think it could be Roman...
Small Wonda fingers crossed matey!
Thanks for leaving the footage of the Gent playing the keyboard and singing. Very cute. Love the show. From the southern 1st colonies

Linda Odell Thanks my pleasure!
That bit *was* gorgeous!!!

Haha. Thanks!
Hello fellow Mainers!
Boston here, these vids are fantastic!
fully planning to do this (under the radar) at Fort Warren over summer and see what kind of stuff i can find.
@@Teeveepicksures Hello Boston! Hope you get some 'luck in the muck'!
Oh wow I love the bottle seal and your stamp in fact I love everything found , I think I’ve learned more about history than I ever did at school tfs xx
Nic what a lovely person she is another great video Si .
That seal. It’s the ancient depiction of the Demi god Constipatio
Lil Pipskweek haha Strainius plopidum
Wasn’t that intoninentia Buttocks, married to Biggus Dickus from Rome?
That’s the seal of “Two Barrel Bob’s Your Uncle” ...the famous brewmaster with an arse so wide he could straddle two barrels whilst seated upon them.
Lil Pipskweek Perhaps it is Cloacina, the Roman Goddess of the sewer. She is pretty important when you come to think of it.😏🖤🖤
Has anyone gotten back to you about the seal? Age or real names, ( I love the fun ones) It could be the seal of the Great Procrastinator..
17:27 Hey Si, AMAZING FIND! 👏👏👏Definitely a Roman intaglio! That is the distinct profile of a Roman Centurion Trooper, with plumed helmet, cheek plates and plated, armored garments.
Thank you for this video Si.
Punkinatrix thanks. This was filmed a few weeks ago. I hope we don’t get banned from leaving our houses!!!
Awesome adventure Simon, Great to have something to watch while we are on this virus lock down here in New Jersey. Thanks to you and Nic.
Interesting as always! Can't wait to hear the museum's conclusions.
chuxmix65 thanks! Me too!
It’s the figure of Crapious he’s
The bloke who invented
Toilet paper of course back then it was called Parchment paper!!
@@Sifinds Was the London Museum able to identify it's origin or shed some light on it in some way? I've no idea where to check for updates?
I thought it was a privy seal. Lol.
Always amazed to see history coming back to life, and how much you people know. However I think about the owners of the various bits and pieces and what their lives and surroundings would have been like.
Keep up the good work.
Great luck in the muck! Super finds! I also loved the singer at the end!!!

Ah that was great Si, I loved the stuff with the type set that you have found. The old guy at the end singing was a star- I'm sure I could see a lad having a wee against the siding in the background though!
Jan Enderwitz haha. Probably 😂
The guy at the end playing keyboards on the beach was really great! I loved the intaglio. Here's hoping it's Roman. It's still an awesome find if it's Georgian!

Oh MY GOSH!, I love the older gent. He's fabulous!!
The old fella at the end said it risght about that seal..."WOO"
MrShannonite haha!
I'll join the crowd and say it will be interesting to get the museum's conclusion on the intaglio.
Biggus Dickus?

Little old man singing at the end made my heart happy. He was awesome!
