Very cool, I have never used an English Wheel and did not know you could imprint sharp edges in metal parts either steel or aluminum!
Thanks for sharing! Off to #3!!!

@@iNVisionPrototypes Yes, Lol! Never heard anyone operate an English wheel in a video without mentioning it catching a finger or two once upon a time! It is like welding in the summer. Sooner or later, you will have your gloves off and grab a part that was still hot. Rear drive car ruled the road once, I lost track how many at idle in front of my tool box, turn around and put my hand(s) on that huge plastic fan shroud, then blades hit your fingers! God that hurts, as you grab them, look at the ceiling while you blindly count 5 with good hand… Ok, all there. The stuff we go thru. Pray to the Fan Gods that I don’t need to provide a sacrifice!
“You have to make fun of what we do or have been thru.”

Looks like that wheel has some miles on it. I've seen some really pimped out with metallic paint, pinstripes and all.

Is there a reason you use the style tipping wheel you use rather than a beat roller with a tipping wheel in it. What gauge is the metal you’re using

Hi Glenn, for the engine cover I used 0.064" aluminium which is about 16Ga. I prefer using the tipping wheel over a bead roller because I find it much more versatile when creating flanges and/or features. From time to time I'll even use my English wheel to roll a flange. The bead roller does get used too... just depends what I'm doing.

Any plans available for that english wheel? Looks like it might be a custom build?

This wheel was built inhouse. 1/2" plate side plates with a rolled web to join them. We have the build photos on our FB page. There is no flex in this frame and the pressure is very precise. Here's the link facebook.com/pg/iNVisionPrototypes/photos/?tab=album&album_id=157615257615224
