Hi Josh! Sorry for the late reply. That is an excellent question! If the donor chassis is wider than the body you'll be dropping on top, I would make the adjustments in the rocker area as you suggested. Support the body as I did with the 51 Ford/G35xs (check out the earlier videos) then remove the rockers from the chassis up to the main floor flange/web and form up new ones at the desired width and reinstall. Nick, your Winter Texas (Canadian) humor had me in stitches again. I spent 4 years in the UK. I helped the MOD put night vision in the Chinook before I retired to the Texas Hill Country. I enjoy your unique engineering take on some of your projects. I also get the dry humor. The car is perfect for a re-chassis body donor. No classic car was harmed in this episode. Just improved a bit and de-rusted. It will be interesting to see what the donor chassis is. It should prove to be quite an interesting swap as no K membered torsion suspension leaf spring chassis Chrysler product was ever considered a canyon carving vehicle. About all they were very good at was running in a straight line if you re-engined the car. A 4 wheeled chassis from a turbo 4 cylinder that was stretched a bit would be quite unique in my opinion. If you could find a reasonable Ford Focus RS that would make for a killer car. Lets see what you come up with. I am intrigued!

why are you looking at this maiger job when you are not done with the 56
Hi Gary, As the saying goes, 'multiple projects lead to multiple somethings.....' don't remember the rest! lol!! At any one time I/we have a number of metal restoration jobs and projects on the go. From ones for Clients to my own 56. This Charger, it shouldn't be too bad of a build. Thanks for watching and keep an eye out for a new 56 episode dropping next week. Cheers!
You asked i would make cassette tape with it.
lol!!
Sounds like Christine after a night out.
If anyone can make something cool out of it, it would be you guys
LOL!
It wasn't made in one peace.so...you can fix it.just change the rusted peaces.peace it back together.
You know it!! Thanks for watching!
I've been a Mopar guy all my life. Unfortunately, a 1974 Dodge Charger isn't very desireable. Reproduction parts are few and far between including sheet metal replacement panels.
That is a parts car.
I'm not worried about sheet metal replacement parts as I can make any part I need... quarters, fenders, rockers. Saying that, I won't be really restoring this ol girl back to original. Things are going to get interesting very soon. Thanks for watching David!!
That's gonna be a LOT of work. No doubt you guys will get there; but the reality is Dodge stopped building REAL chargers in '69
Yep yep yep. Just like they didn’t build any nomads after 1957. Guess what they did. If it says charger on the title/ vin then it’s a charger. Maybe nobody wants it but it is a charger.
You know how you eat a 40 ton whale ? One bite at a time !
@darrylowens9298 You know it!
@@darrylowens9298 IN '98 when Chrysler merged with Mercedes every Chrysler buyer thought they were getting a Mercedes - sadly what happened was every Mercedes buyer from that point forward ended up with a Chrysler. I know - I bought a 2000 S500 - what a PofS. - sold it in a year.
parted
gotta be a joke...OR, new suspension for the Chrysler
It's NO joke... well actually there was some joking around. ha ha But, as for what you saw hanging at the end, it will be very to us in the next phase. More soon!
I would say you must have a lot of free time . For the time and money it’s going to take you won’t make any money off that charger
True, that's why this won't be a restoration.
the right price? Theyd have to pay m e to take that... project tetanus...
LOL!
I'd have them pay me to drag the car away
