In GM service manual now online called “Electronic Service Information” or eSI for short. This part is called the engine sight cover.
Regardless, yours is nice! Mothers mag wheel polish works the best on aluminum and gets smoother and brighter or more polished each time!
A small competing Australia company makes motor cycle gas tanks & other parts from aluminum and they say it’s the best! Stay safe!

Good to know! To remember it i will use it in a sentence. "For the M40C build we will be creating a trick ESI for its engine compartment." Love Mothers Polish, use it on all brightwork we create. Check out the Rhythm build on my facebook page(again before youtube). facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.225558067487609&type=3 Thanks!

@@iNVisionPrototypes >Between those tools and equipment plus your talent and vision, you create some very nice vehicles! Even Chip Foose doesn’t build every part!
My hat is off to you sir. (I don’t have any social media. I didn’t even have a cell phone since 2008 until my oldest son sent me one last April.)
PS, At 11, I grew 6” that year. At 12, I harvested an “X” frame from an older GM vehicle. With a 283 cu in and power glide, I grafted a 67 Reanult Gordini onto its frame. I drove the car for less than a year and had 3 guys chasing to buy it. I sold it for $900, but that was almost half the cost of many new car in the late 60’s. I would do it again!
I appreciate you sharing the work and steps you take to make these items. There is something about bare steel and aluminum shaped into the vehicles you had made. The owner of a large farm realtor owned a “Morton” building. He paid me $1 per hour to help him. He had 18 cars from Model T, 32 Chevy w/straight 8, cream colored Duesenburg convertible 1933? and a bunch more. I was in Awh!

@@iNVisionPrototypes I think you are correct, I just don’t know what all of the details, icons or how to use. It is a strange language in a strange land with someone who is Taiwan shows up as friend request? I just “Mily” to make me a good tailgate. LoL.

Hi Patti, I believe at the time we were under a pretty crazy completion deadline for a project and unfortunately I wasn't able to create a final YT video of the mesh being installed to finish the cover. Just weren't enough hours in the day... I did however update the thumbnail to show the finished cover before paint. I appreciate you taking the time to watch the videos. Here's a link to an interior update video from the R2 playlist where I do give a brief walk around and show the cover in the beginning. th-cam.com/video/P6uGGpCrv3U/w-d-xo.html R2 will be back next month for detailing and I'll be creating a more comprehensive video of the entire car. Again, thanks for watching! 🙂

Thanks for the video. Just wondering where you source the 3003?

My go to source for sheet steel is Metal Supermarket in St. Catharines. Most of the time they have what I need in stock...otherwise they'll bring it in within a day or so. Thanks for the thumbs up!
