I have this same exact tractor but mine has turf tires, love this machine and I will be taking it with me when I move to the pacific northwest. I plan to install a PTO chipper on her too
That round thing you called a pre heater light will never glow. It is not a pre heater light. It is a cold weather start aid. The pre heater lights are on the top of the speedometer. two of them. center right and left of top of speedometer dial.
The transmission uses a range selector 1-2-3 a basic, High, Medium and Low. That’s the shifter on the transmission. Then there is either the synchro-mesh shifter on the column or a gear selector next to the range selector. That’s like first, second, third and reverse. The range selector is described as L-loader work, M-mower work and H-Highway driving.
Does your loader float work if your three point hitch is raised? My 1710 / 770B loader will only sit on the ground if I have the three point fully lowered. If it’s in float and I raise the 3 pt, the bucket also raises.
Nice walk around. I’m picking this model up tomorrow, sight unseen. I am not clear on how the 12 forward gears work when there are 4 on the console, can you clarify?
I have a 1700 & it has the 12 gears one set is your low/medium/high & reverse then in each one of those you can use your other shifter to go from 1st to 4th in each of the low/medium/high & reverse
It does have a fuel gage that's the tube on the side of the fuel tank on the clutch pedal side u might want to replace the tube so you can see the fuel level
I just got done driving mine and I’m 12

Locks the pedal down for a parking brake
Do these have draft control?
Curious if you know what the knob is below the temperature gauge to the side of the throttle control
That knob turns the hazard/flashers on and off.
