I was initially just manipulating the camera boom with BPs to to simulate a first person toggle but that didn't help me achieve a true first person setup like this method does so thank you. Do you know if lerping will still work to create a camera transition effect though? I want the change in perspective to be smooth and quick but not instant if I can. lol
quick question. How will the enemy see you? How can I use this method while allowing the other players in the game only seeing one character? (not an arm rig)
I am unclear how you get the arms and body to appear in the view port. I have a headless mesh for the same First person camera purpose, and the mannequin for third person, but I can't get them both to appear in view port.
Excuse me, when I try to change the model of the first person view, the gun goes directly to the ground, you have a fix for that? I already tried the socket thing of the video :c
How do I pt this character into multiple levels, so I don't have to recreate it from scratch every time, since when you create a new level, there is no player arms.

Not even a singe event. Strange. UE 4.18.1 over here, tryin to understand game making for first time in my entire life, so far unsuccessful results only lol.
someone needs to use this technique to make 3rd person working in the outer words game and release it as a mod. That game runs on unreal engine! It should be easy to make a mod for someone that has the know-how.
So weird issue. After I put in the SK_Mannequin and move it down, it won't let me rotate it and I can't figure out why. The only difference I can find is that under the image for the Skeletal mesh SK_Mannequin, I have a pink underline instead of a white one. I'm not entirely sure what that means.
This happened to me too! I just kept pressing ctrl+z until he disappeared and then re-added the skeletal mesh in again. I rotated him before moving him down just in case, but yeah it seems like the step just needed redoing again! (this is 2 years too late but I thought it might help others in future!)

If i wanted to combine this with a true first person guide, which would i want to set up first? The true first person bit or the toggle-able camera?

Nevermind.. the problem was that i created project using FPS C++ template not Blueprints one.
For some reason when I press the keybind it zooms in?

Solved it. My set fpsBranch was false.
for some reason every time I press the button, it switches the cameras fine but it makes it so the screen is all green :/

My SK_Mannequin is not rotate to - 90 . Can you tell my why? I have make the same from the video :-/
same thing happened to me buddy, save, exit the FP Blueprint, and then re-open it and it should work fine :)
How can you make it so others players do not the the Arm Rig but you can still.

I solved it by adding a CameraBoom (SpringArm) to the FPCam and set its arm lenght to 0. Also be sure you've checked Use Pawn Control Rotation.
