  • Hi there, Richard Santos here bringing you my unboxing of the “Seagate Game Drive for XBOX”
    Is a 8tb version of the 4tb that i unboxed before.
    Both are similar but the 8tb sure has its difference that sets it apart. Hope you enjoy the unboxing and thanks for watching!

    I have this drive. With about 50 games on it makes playing older and newer games easier. Yes you have to transfer newer games back and forth, but much faster than downloading ever time you want to play a game. Takes about 5 mi minutes, depending on the size of the game.

    I have had the former version of this for several years, which had 2 USB sockets on the front for additional storage. In total I have 18TB, 8TB drive with 2 5TB Seagate drives connected and powered by the 8TB Seagate. Seagate drives are excellent in my opinion, never fail, the amount of Western Digital drives I've had fail on me, some with very little use is obscene. That's why I had no objection to the price of the 1TB Seagate expansion card, because I know it'll never fail, and speed is equal to internal drive. I know the amount of storage I have may seem excessive, but I have been with Xbox since day one and own a vast number of games, plus Game Pass. Transferring X/S titles is so fast it is negligible and never an inconvenience. Love the light on this new drive though!

    • @smturner68
      @smturner68 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah. I have a white one with two add on USB ports. I skipped last gen so have enough about 70 game plus game pass...thebhard drive tbe internal drice and 1tb sdd card are all full. I just got a ps5 a week ago. I am glad getting a 2tb ssd will only be 240. so I need to do something similar getting another Xbox drive. since Xbox one enhanced games are better than ps4 pro games backward capability.
      how do you deal with choice paralysis?

    • @markmaisy4858
      @markmaisy4858 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@smturner68 I still have a PS4, bought it with the intention of PSVR, then I saw quality, controllers and cables, so opted for Quest 2, hence PS4 hasn't been fired up for a few years, played Doom on it once.
      I go with games I truly enjoy, Far Cry series, State of Decay 2, Forza Horizons, Saints Row's (except latest), Halo's and most open world titles, Gamepass gives the option to try games I wouldn't normally try but they're there, so I give them a go. The 'Quick resume' is an excellent and most welcomed feature to continue from where you left off.
      I've invested over 1000 hours into State of Decay 2, every play through is a new experience and first-class developers are always adding new content, by far the best game ever made!

      @Shawn Turner I have the Seagate White 8TB Hub, too! But it's kinda showing its age (and mileage) since I got it in mid-2019, when I still had the Robot White Xbox One X (great matching color).
      So I got the new one for the horizontal feet, black with green lighting, clearer indicator LED, USB-C port, and hopefully better and quieter performance.
      And the old white one will be a hand-me-down for my Dad this Xmas (he's already getting spoiled with an Xbox Series X, for sure.)

    I am interested in purchasing the Seagate Game Drive Hub 8TB for my Xbox Series X as a cheaper alternative to other options I am seeing. My original external HDD has 4TB and it's nearly filled to capacity, so my plan is to upgrade to this game hub down the road since I seldom uninstall my games. I clicked on this video. After all, I wanted to see the hub's physical dimensions because I was worried the hub would be large. I am glad to see the hub is compact and is only slightly bigger than my current WD external drive. For 8TB, I think the hub is reasonably priced but I am willing to wait for a price drop.

    This drive is insane, it sucks that the strip of green lights don't work.

      @@Nate-lw2gd The green LED's on mine do not light up (above the USB ports on the front), must be a defect. I didn't return it because they weren't as important as the storage space. It was just cool to see what the lights should look like on the drive.

    how much did that cost. I have a 12 TB external hard drive. I don't care for overpriced Xbox branded externals; other external hard drives with more space are just the same there is nothing an Xbox branded hard drive is giving you. Speed is the same as others out there. Don't fall for the branded crap.

      Any suggestions? I'm looking for another HHD for my kids' Series S. I have a 4TB on my X because I really didn't want to pay for that XBOX 1TB SSD. The pricing is ridiculous
