Great outfit. But check out their live gig at “The Black Hawk” over a dreary weekend in San Francisco in Sept.1959. Victor Feldman replaced Russ Freeman. Imo one of the best small-club live performances. . And apart from a short stint with Art Blakey this is Joe Gordon’s best performance, again imo. “The Lighthouse” had many famous live-acts (mostly recorded on the Contemporary-label) during the 50/60’s which became iconic. Dig this set folks, G’day & Cheers!
