If I remember correctly I believe there was a pre WW2 meeting between Roosevelt and Churchill that helped end European colonization hence a lot of countries in Africa got thier independents. I don't know what America was doing before that, but this is basic history 101.

@BIGD,S ALL DAAY SON Africa didn't really get colonized until the late 1800's early 1900's. It wasn't until the machine gun was invented that Europe had enough power to overtake African societies. The U.S tried a few colonies but Africa wasn't the Americas in terms of durability, climate, metal work, or armies.

Akon is not intelligent when it comes to Economic strategy. The Chinese gave him a Billion Dollar loan, a loan in which Akon will most likely default on. Once he defaults on that loan, China ( the creditors) will legally be able to seize all of his land, property, and other assets of value. Listen to what Akon said.
“ China needs our resources to make product, and in return we need their infrastructure just to be able to afford their product.” That is the equivalent of having Africa work for China, but when They pay Africa, China tells them they can only spend their money at Chinese owned businesses and on chinese Owned products. All the cash gets recycled back to China.

This is "how to peacefully take over a country 101". You give loans to countries with promises of economy, infrastructure and when they can't pay the loan you take control of the it's resources. This is nothing new. In fact most of African resources are controlled by foreign entities like this so they will never prosper independently. The problem is this still might be a step up for them but in 150yrs they will have another South Africa situation.

FRANK CASTLE My uncle that lives in Philly has a house that has a small separate staircase going down to the kitchen that was made for the slaves that used to live there. The Southern economy was based on slavery but people in the north still had them mainly as servants and not for farming.
Here’s the thing. As Nigerian myself , Akon is right... but he’s leaving things out.
1) With Africa, China doesn’t have to worry about compliance. China is well known for selling products that are not environmentally sound... so selling to Africa is easy.
2) China is running out of physical space. So settling up power for a land you eventually want to live in benefits the Chinese’s in the long run.
3) China isn’t in ALL of Africa... just West and Central. Africa is huge.... so we gotta stop talking about it as if it’s the Unuted States or Europe.
4) Africa needs to get in bed with someone other than the Brit’s. That’s all I say for now because if you’ve never been to Africa, you wouldn’t understand. Black countries all over the world are still ran by the people that colonized then... there’s just blk puppets in place. It’s why I don’t celebrate anyone’s Independence Day.

I didn't watch the Akon interview but the brief clip is littered with inaccuracies. China would be more interested in Africa's resources, which is why it would be better choice than India--whom they don't have a good historical relationship with and lacks resources.
