They keep saying Richard's deck isn't chaos, but having and giving those survivor tokens really amplified the effects of the other chaos cards. I think it fit the theme!
Seth's Psychic Battle has inspired a great idea: someone should build a deck based on the Lorwyn clash mechanic and similar cards so they can get to say "clash on" each time they cast a card!
Yeah, a MtgGoldfish themed episode would be funny. Clash tribal is a great idea. My take for Richard's terrible tribal decks would be Fish tribal with a treasure/gold subtheme to make it a goldfish deck. Maybe there are some other memes to make it a full episode?
@@whaleofdarkness definitely a friends theme, Friends Forever, Forbidden Friendship, Friendly Fire (definitely fits the best), Toothy, then a bunch of allies etc.
@@jamessheffield9091 Maybe once the regular variants of the Stranger Things cards are printed. With their "Friends Forever" ability they'd fit the theme very well.
Yo, Crim, in case you read some of these comments: I love you man, you're one of my favorites from among the staff. You're not a cheater, you're not toxic, and you're not a spike. Phill is adorable but I really miss Tomer, please don't let them fire you as well
The new card Soul separator also can make survivors and if your deck runs black you can run ashes of the fallen to make more survivors in colorless and red unfortunately best you can do is myr / golem graveyard shenanigans with ashes.
With the Thieves' Auction, it's probably best to take all the mountains you can, because you know there's going to be a Gauntlet of Power in the end. Additionally, they don't get confused in the ranks.
grip of chaos has got to be the most painful card to use in paper, imagine targeting whatever permanent and there are like 36 permanents on the board... :D Gotta love chaos week
Yep, and the winner would've been decided by who runs out of time after that, because the loser can always choose to flip again for double the life, so either modo would've crashed because of an integer overflow, or one of them would've timed out.
In the end: technically Seth and crim didn’t have to time Phil out, they could just keep flipping until there were so many zndrsplt triggers on the stack that Phil milled out.
If Seth lost the game whilst his Dimensional Breach was doing its thing, the rest of the cards it had exiled would remain in exile, because Seth was no longer playing.
This was quite the dumpster-fire of a game. Very entertaining. :) haha I loved it! I wouldn't want to see this very often, but this was a fun, goofy game. Thanks for the laughs, guys. :)
I would've loved it if the ending had ended with Seth winning the game of chaos having 143 life and then him playing confusion in the ranks in order to steal the chance encounter, that would've been so funny.
What a relief everyone needs a little chaos in their life. Dimensional breach is such a fun card is does wonders in my hikari twilight guardian mono white chaos deck : D
If you're looking for a "random" land you should look at Gem Bazaar, a card that was designed for Shandalar (first MTG digital game) back in 1997. Obviously it's not in MTG, but it would've been a great addition to any chaos deck.
I feel you Tomer I have casted gamble a uncountable amount of times and have just recently been able to actually cast the card that I went to go get. every other time I gambled the card that I went to get away. Gamble ...poo Stix
It wasn't his graveyard, it was in his revealed cards from when he kept revealing it with Psychic Battle. MTGO lists each instance of a card when it is revealed.
I think Confusion in the Ranks does have two targets - the thing entering and the chosen swap - so Grip of Chaos does not affect it. It's like how fight cards don't work with Zada, Hedron Grinder.
That Confusion in the Ranks + Grip of Chaos bug really irks me. Edit: after Tomer's comment that Confusion in the Ranks' trigger doesn't yet have a target when it's put on the stack, I'm not even sure if this is a bug anymore. Can anyone explain?
Also whoever said Richard stack wasn't chaos was entirely wrong richard's deck actually was the most chaotic he was forcing an entire table where no one likes to attack to actually attack that's the most chaotic energy ever. He forced people to play magic in a different way.
Right, I was thinking that Richard's deck was chaos, just based on Creatures, rather than warp world shenanigans. He was goading, making survivors for people, and tons of other things.
I really enjoyed this episode overall, but I honestly felt that Tomer's persistent complaining about the game detracted a lot from it. The whole point of the week is to be chaotic! Lean into the randomness and fun instead of complaining so much about it!
I agree , Tomer definitely killed the vibes by being a real downer and complaining the whole time. Rest of the crew was down for the chaos. Awesome vibes from them.
Chaos is an utterly miserable archetype. It's worse than Stax, because at least with Stax they usually just win once they have their lock pieces. But with Chaos, there's always that 5% chance that the deck will shoot itself in the foot, so you feel like you can't concede. But a Chaos Week every year or so? That's pretty cool.
I thought the Smash Bros intro was just going to be a one-off but it seems to be sticking around. I don't think it really works for the show, that music is so tied to that one particular game that leading with it doesn't make it feel like Command Clash is its own thing with its own identity. Which is weird because you guys are usually SO good at having great branding, with the way you do the thumbnails and stuff. And, of course, your trademark catch phrase.. "clash on!" :D
Sorrow's Path is actually good in certain decks! Jarad Dinosaur King Enrage is a big one, where pinging all your stuff for 2 can do REALLY dumb things.
Crim or Seth could have actually won by milling out Phil with the game of chaos. Nothing like a 50/50 to decide the winner of Chaos week. As a bonus they might have overflowed the lifecounter and upped the mtgo fail counter.
I think if Seth and Crim kept flipping coins for the game of chaos, they could have decked phil out as each loop someone wins a flip and he needed to draw a card for each win. Would have been a funny way to take him out.
Imagine someone has a Phage out then suddenly scrambleverse happens one unlucky person is going to lose to its etb effect i call this scramble roulette
I like to imagine Richard sitting in the dark surrounded by playmats
Me too thanks and chilling with that one goldfish on the couch
A photo of this onto a playmat Kibler style would be hilarious 😂😂
Watching Tomer's descent into despair was wonderful. I'm so sorry you had to live through this. Your sacrifice is appreciated.
Sometimes I think "I'd love to play Commander Clash one day."
Today isn't one of those days tho
They keep saying Richard's deck isn't chaos, but having and giving those survivor tokens really amplified the effects of the other chaos cards. I think it fit the theme!
Nearly two and a half hours of 'Tomer begs for death' is surprisingly much more enjoyable than one would think.
I like how Seth's options are:
1.chaos
2. group hug
3. smth else
4. the most annoying for Tomer
Seth: "snap smashes 4"
Seth's Psychic Battle has inspired a great idea: someone should build a deck based on the Lorwyn clash mechanic and similar cards so they can get to say "clash on" each time they cast a card!

Probably my favorite episode in a long time and Richard set Tomer up definitely by "having to miss" on Chaos week. This episode was great 👍

Glad to see other Crim fans! I remember writing a passionate defense that every playgroup should have a player like Crim :-)
The theme of every week is really just Tomer Sadness Week.
I love when they're talking about "it might be over soon", because you get to check the time code and see that it is not, in fact, nearly over.
If only shaharazad was legal to add to Tomer's torment (also Tomer's torment should be the name of chaos week from now on)
Um... technically, maskwood nexus makes changeling tokens that are also survivors.
Volrath’s Laboratory set to Survivor i’ll make true tokens... That’s my “ack-shully” response

It never does much in games I have it in since there are usually 4 targets at Mac for it but it deffo has the most chaotic art in mtg
This week on Punt or Bluff: can Magic the Gathering Online handle the insanity of chaos, or will Phil finally read his MDFC?
zndrsplts draw ability is not a may ability, because of that seth and crim would be able to mill phill out, when they played game of chance.
Yep, and the winner would've been decided by who runs out of time after that, because the loser can always choose to flip again for double the life, so either modo would've crashed because of an integer overflow, or one of them would've timed out.
@@N1ghthavvk The winner got to choose whether to flip again, So they could've just chosen to stop when they had positive life.
Shared Fate was on the battlefield and completely stops drawing cards. Plus every time Phil drew a card it would have taken someone else card.
Oh this would have been an amazing ending for this game xD
Too bad we didn't realize it, would have gladly taken the L for this one
@Gabriel Toledo except seth would die prior to the drawing goes on the stack, so it would work
I find it funny how Tomer came back on his least favorite week.I think Richard told the guy to cut his internet just to have Tomer play.
Going back and watching this one again was great, in the end they granted the wish of tomer to die first. Lol
In the end: technically Seth and crim didn’t have to time Phil out, they could just keep flipping until there were so many zndrsplt triggers on the stack that Phil milled out.
I was so rooting for this options, I'm sad we didn't get to see this play out :)
Crim's face at the beginning of each episode is always pure gold.
Solid gold
Love the intros! Commander clash always make me sad that I don't have a commander play group
Milling out Phil with game of chaos wudda been so cash
You guys should do a week where the goal isn't to kill the other players, it's to see who can break modo the fastest, and whoever does wins.
Isn’t that just Sliver Week
The real chaos was the MODO we played along the way.
If Seth lost the game whilst his Dimensional Breach was doing its thing, the rest of the cards it had exiled would remain in exile, because Seth was no longer playing.
I think you should do chaos week again next week can’t have Richard missing the fun.

26:36 weird that the gold tokens are bugged on mtgo, they are not supposed to tap.
Had to make sure I hit the "like" especially after Tomer's exasperated plea to do so.
Tomer’s pain is always the most entertaining part of chaos week
I think I hear him have an aneurysm @1:01:14 Hilarious!
I like this video specifically because Tomer told me to.
I love chaos week so much!
A commander quickie for april fools where tomer pits in minimal effort to explain whats happening in a chaos game sounds pretty funny.
Confusion in the ranks targets the permanent that entered the battlefield and whatever it is exchanging for. That is why it gets around Grip of Chaos.
On this week of "Punt or Bluff?" Everyone is at Vegas trying their luck. Who will win big and who will go bust? Tune in to find out!

Chaos Week makes me laugh so hard.
they could have played the game of chaos 43 times and whoever won would have won when they decked phil off the mandatory draws
Crim would've had to be the one to win because Seth would've gotten decked out instead due to shared fate.
The way Crim talks about Vial Smasher, he makes is sound like Vial is his first name and Smasher is his last name. Lol!
As to when to play chaos again... is Tuesday too soon?

I'm 40 min in, but I really hope they realise that Grip of Chaos works only for spells with a single target, and that Confusion targets two

Well only if Seth dies from the game of chaos to get rid of the thing that causes you to draw your opponent's cards.
Crim and Seth could kill Phil with the Game of Chaos by making him draw his whole deck.

Shahrazad games seem fast compared to this week’s game. Nice to see a unique one though! 🙃
would you say tyrant of discord is too much of a chaos card for regular casual commander
Naw, it's perfectly fine since they just shuffle their board into one deck and flip off the top until the hit a land.
Would be really _chaotic_ if you snuck in chaos decks to the next chaos week without telling Tomer. "Uh yeah, this is my red-blue aggro deck..."
