As a former art student, I love how that image is lit. The lighting seems 'off' to our eyes because the tower in the center looks as if it's illuminated by the reflection of the sun, and that together with the orange glow in the sky suggests sunset or sunrise, but the other buildings have lots of electric lights on, which we associate with the middle of the night.
Like you said, this gives it a very dreamlike, otherworldly quality. I'd be interested to know what images the AI was pulling from.

Arabian Psycho could even be a realistic movie. Imagine Bateman being the son of a wealth emir, who is working in a top position in Saudi Aramco together with the sons of other Emirs. They all work nothing and only compare each other over who eat in what restaurant and who owns more cars. And Bateman being jealous of a son whose father is closer to the Royal family and therefore murders him.

American psycho to represent white people and western society, is a very hard pill to shallow for some people. Many people jump into the conclusion that it symbolizes the negative side of wealth and materialism and that all rich people are evil, in reality they have missed the point of the story. The novel is a commentary on the emptiness and lack of morality in modern society especially among atheist, it also highlights protestant work ethics. The protagonist is of protestant upbringing but became atheist when he became an adult. Since protestants don't have forgiveness and confessions like catholic and view femininity such as showing empathy and feelings as a weakness they often struggle with emotional connections. Loving wealth and material possessions is not a bad thing, if we watch the movie we never see the character Patrick use his money for pleasure, he never enjoys life, It's because protestants are taught that enjoying life is a distraction from work and success. Patrick's strong work ethic is evident throughout the movie as he puts in long hours and sacrifices personal relationships for his career. This work ethic is often praised in American culture, but it can also lead to burnout and neglect of one's personal life. He is also very afraid to be different and loves conformity, which is another trait that is often emphasized in Protestantism. In Protestantism conformity is seen as a way to show obedience to God and the community, protestants also have tall poppy syndrome , which means that they tend to criticize those who stand out. This fear made him struggle with expressing his true self and pursuing his own passions, as he was more focused on fitting in and meeting societal expectations. His father wanted him to be a banker, he wanted to be something else, his parents gave him money and no love. This lack of support and pressure to conform ultimately led him to feel unfulfilled and unhappy in his career.
