Agree on Volvo i have both Volvo turbo and NA versions of 2.3l, those engines are indestructible literally!

Mine runs like new and it has over 300,000 miles on it. Bought the car for 1,500 USD and drove it 5,400 miles (across the US and back)

That’s the cleanest om617a engine bay that I’ve ever seen. The turbodiesel version is great, but it’s a diesel so they tend to be dirty engines
Very nice, an engine I have only just become interested in one, and one I never knew had such an amazing reputation.
Probably the most reliable engines ever designed and will run Biodiesel and well made Blackdiesel too. 240D engines are right up there too and more fuel efficient.

I am about to buy a landcruser fitted with an om 617 non turbo ,how reliable is this engine ,i drive thru a lot of sand to reach my farm
