    I just picked up this knife and I love it. It has become my edc knife.

      It is a great knife. I like carrying this one as well. The large Praxis is very nice as well. I am glad you are enjoying your knife. It is always great when you find the right one. Thanks for sharing and watching. Cheers

    Perfect little backup/companion to the full size Praxis. Thanks for the review :)

      It is a good size for a secondary knife. Both are great knives. Thanks for the comment and thanks for taking the time to watch.

    Thank you for this excellent and comprehensive review, sir! I have one on order, and look forward to comparing it to my other great EDC's (Cold Steel Mini-Recon 1, Cold Steel Engage, SOG Terminus XR, Kizer Junges, CJRB Crag, Hogue Exemplar, Cold Steel AD15 Lite, and the beast, the Artisan Cutlery Proponent, to name a few). Regarding your statement of not having problems with other Civivi pivots, I had a Civivi Ortis that I would have liked, except that the flipper tab was almost impossible to deploy, and I didn't have the desire to disassemble, lube, and reassemble it. I've had that same issue with a Cold Steel Finn Wolf, a Buck Spitfire and a Buck 870+. Hence, I was hesitant to get back into Civivi, until I read your superb review of this Mini-Praxis. Thanks again!

      You have good taste in knives. It sounds like a nice collection. Sorry the Ortis didn't work out for you but I hope the mini Praxis meets your expectations. Thanks for the kind word and for watching and welcome to the channel.

    Great review!
    I do like the big version better… Maybe I find it a little more visually intimidating… But I do like the duplicate design and a smaller version for your EDC… I also like how well it seems to work it looks like everything is smooth
    Merry Christmas

      It is a smooth knife and the only reason I prefer it over the larger version is convenience of carry. Both are great knives. Merry Christmas and thanks for watching.

    D2 is good enough steel for an EDC knife. Considering the price it’s a steal

      This is a great knife for the price and I agree with you that D2 is fine for a budget edc. I haven’t had any issues with my knives with D2 steel. Thanks for taking the time to comment and watch.

      D2 normally isn't the issue, it's any given company's heat treatment of it. Civivi is normally above average with their treatments.

      @@HelplessTeno I agree with you. Heat treatment is very important. Thanks for sharing that and thanks for watching.

    Great review. Do you mind telling me where you bought it? I can't find it at the price you stated and this will be my first pocketknife so I don't know which retailer is the best. Thank you

      Thanks for the positive message. I bought this knife at House of Knives. They are now $49.99 but still a decent price. I hope that helps. Thanks for taking the time to watch.

    Don't see why were testing the sharpness when that's a matter of how well you sharpen your knives? Maybe I'm wrong. But a 1$ knife can cut as good as a 300 dollar knife, if sharpened right.

    • @thecanadianedge1
      @thecanadianedge1  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I do a sharpness test to show how sharp they arrive just out of the box. Not everybody is adept at sharpening so some people want to know how sharp it is when they buy it. I do agree that if a person knows what they are doing they can put a sharper edge on than a lot of factory edges. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching.

    Did you screw in a thumbstud yet ? I ll drill a hole but it can go about anywhere for this one . Not bad for a $35 knife . Not bad at all but civivi s d 2 lasts half as long as it should with the edge retention .

    • @thecanadianedge1
      @thecanadianedge1  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think I will put in a thumb stud. I am okay with the flipper. I haven't had a problem with it dulling but it is possible and I don't use one knife consistently enough to dull it quickly. Too many knives I guess. I will try to be aware of how quickly it dulls. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching.

    So.... how's the blade cut? What's the blade made out of? How hard is the blade to sharpen? NOT A REVIEW HERE.

    • @thecanadianedge1
      @thecanadianedge1  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi. Thanks for the comment. If you notice in my reviews, the second thing I always mention after knife length is the blade material which on this knife is D2. I do a sharpness test and as for sharpening the knife, that depends on the skill level of the person sharpening the knife. D2 is usually harder to sharpen than say 440. I don’t always mention how hard or easy it is to sharpen but most reviewers don’t. I hope that helps. Have a great day.
