Side note on the power steering, way back when I did mine, I was able to take off then OEM fitting from my dodge power steering pump and replace the one on the LS pump with it. I did it not to reduce pump pressure(I didnt even know that was a thing 😂) but so that I could reuse my stock power steering hoses.
@@noboltsleftbehind it never blew up 😂 this was on my W100 and ive never had an issue with it until the sector shaft seal started leaking. Ive rebuild the steering gear since then but I ran it for 3 years before the seal died. Not bad for a 35 year old gear 😂
I had the same problem with a 6.0. However, I purchased a OEM steel hood (mine is a 83 one year plastic hood camaro) and installed DIY heat extractors that allowed me the space I needed. Now I have the clearance, good looking / functioning heat extractors, and a conversation piece at car shows.
Get yourself an electric DA/orbital sander and some 80 grit discs. When you fab something like that fuse box bracket you can DA the raw bracket and it will give it a more "manufactured look plus it will take paint very well.
@@noboltsleftbehind Yeah it works very well especially if you round all of your corners and grind off any excess weld. I saw it on the YT Channel Make it Kustom some years ago and have been doing it ever since.
That's hot-rodding! It's part of the fun...fabrication. It's easy to get spoiled by using the internet and buying every part you want. There will be more pride and appreciation in his car when he gets it done. Kudos
Man your doing a good job. It's coming along nicely 👌🏾
Thank you sir
Nice video. I'm enjoying your progress and taking the "get er done" approach and not spend $ on every aftermarket part to get your engine to fit
Thanks! I always try and stick to my motto: why buy what you can build.

@@NightWrencher was that before or after your power steering line blew out at the track when we were lining up at the drag strip? 😂

That’s super cool man, and I love me some good hood vents 🤘
We need a pic!
great fan setup! overheating should not be an issue!
@@scottziegler9172 good to hear 👍
Finally caught up on the last two vids. All your projects required some custom fab but man this one 😅 great work tho
Love it!!!!

It's funny you say that, I bought one maybe a year ago for some body work but never got around to buying pads for it. I'm 100% gonna try that out 👍

whats next after the big 3 engine swaps.? maybe euro?
I’ve got an idea cooking right now actually, and yes it will be Euro, it will be a swap, and it will be WILD.
Another TH-camr called AGearHead4Life shaved, and plastic welded his plastic LS truck manifold too look good (video is ten years old now).
Doing all this when companies like ICT billet exist that specialize in swap solutions

I have this same LS engine in my truck and I love it. Good luck with your project. 😊
Less work to just rebuild and mod the original engine unless burning time is your goal.
Less MONEY to swap in an LS. And yes, I do quite enjoy my time spent wrenching 🤘
missed the point of the video and overall project....you can always learn something from other peoples projects.
Not the bracket that I built for my double alternator is very sturdy
