Looking good, I can’t say that I would have done black interior in a convertible, I can feel the burns on my legs from my childhood, but it does look good
Hell yeah……that lil 4.8 is gonna run better than that car did brand new back in ‘74…….and you have the factory hard top still!!! Nice…..i soooo wanna build a smog exempt ‘75 or older c3 or 2nd gen F body…..that one will be a fun car for you to build back with modern goodies like your other classics…cant wait to see how far you go with this one….im still tying up loose ends on my sons ‘67 c code coupe…..just did subframe connectors last week, upgraded fat sway bars and shocks…….maybe tommorow or monday and gotta play with the tune on his efi settings….building a roller cam explorer motor similar to the one you did but that probably wont be installed until spring after his 17th birthday….the tired 289 should last a couple more months…….keep up the good work dude…..one phase at a time!!!
Very, very cool! Man, I'd highly recommend that you paint the floorboards with some ceramic paint to lower the temp and check the firewall & under the console for missing rubber grommets. I've used RIT successfully for years on carpets & rugs. You simply immerse them in 5 gallon pails and hang to dry. Completely colorfast
@@philbaker7605 thanks! The camera itself was a cheap one from Amazon that mounts on the license plate, I think the brand was Auto Vox. The mirror with the backup screen brand is Master Tailgaters, this is the third one I’ve installed in one of my cars and they’ve been great so far.
@@queezytarantino1456 sure thing, the brand is Shift Works and it’s a full kit to adapt your connector your shift linkage too shiftworks.com/products/1972-76-corvette-factory-shifter-conversion-kits
Great video! I am curious, why did you end up going with black over the factory tan/camel interior? I get that it goes pretty well with just about anything and its probably easier to keep looking clean, I just think that the tan with the red paintjob is a really snazzy look.
@@damonroger3184 thanks! Mostly because it’s easier to clean, I put a lot of miles in my cars. Not sure if it came across on camera but in person each piece of the interior was a different shade of tan and didn’t look great.
@noboltsleftbehind gotcha, that's what I figured. And yeah it might just be kinda hard to tell the color differences on camera. I think either way it's gonna be a nice cruiser. Those C3s are great looking cars, can't believe they're still so cheap.
@ for sure, I think these C3s are high up on the list for “car for money” ratio. Especially when you toss in a cheap LS motor, you got yourself a dead reliable 300whp cruiser 👍
Mine was way cooler. My 74 convertible, 4 speed, L-82 burgundy with silver interior was cool. I wish I never sold it. 74 was the only year they had no bumpers visible front or rear. It's a very sleek model, with that top off. They're very dependable too except in the winter. Fiberglass doesn't do well in winter. Doors get stuck and everything becomes brittle from the cold. The car above needs a new interior. They had a few styles of door panels back then. Get the right one
Man this was dope. Who else builds a car before our eyes
you are more brave than smart. Glad you’re learning as you go though. Cool project
Great job.. The swap came out good😆🦾💣🧨🧨💯🔥

Such a cool series you inspire me to do this to dad's old corvette!
That’s awesome man! Highly recommended, even this 4.8 as it sits stock has nice power.
I had a 74 for 14 years....383 stroker.....loved that car but sold it when I bought my Cuda

Good content, You are definitely an accomplished hot rodder! I've reconditioned a few Corvettes, many on a budget. Always a learning experience.

Those oil fill necks will twist off so you can just use the cap. Nice
