I want to point out two inaccuracies in your information, as the composer's biographer: He did not receive lessons during his childhood, since his father died before Lauro was 5 years old, in 1922. And the Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra was not composed in prison, but in 1956, premiered by himself. This is important to know so that biographical errors are not imposed. Alejandro Bruzual
In the 70's,when I was studying in school, my state of Kerala was the favourite destination for Hippie tourists because of the easy availability of ganga. They used to walk around the rural areas with their only possessions of guitars on their shoulders and marijuana in their lips .We were attracted by the hitherto unknown sweet guitar music. Their favourite abode was the Adam and Eve beaches at Kovalam where we used to visit occasionally mainly for seeing the fully devoted Sun God worshippers trying their level best to get the blessings on each and every body parts of the worshippers and also for enjoying their beautiful guitar music. Their music and playing were as beautiful as here and I would have been sure about my claim that those hippies had ,in fact, played this music if this music was composed earlier than the 70's! Irrelevant thoughts but music reminds me of anything of my bygone era even if it had no relationship with music. Thanks. Another blessed day of enjoyment.
Your story is a massive part of hippy culture and shows people did have taste, as well as conviction, in the pursuit of the supernatural, which they may or may not have acquired.
I am so proud hearing the music of one of our giant venezuelan composers, BRAVO you guys of Brilliant Classics, Make my heart beating faster, TWO THUMBS UP!
Years ago, before the guitar entered my world, I had a therapist. She told me, as the guitar and I were becoming more acquainted with one another, that it was an attachment device. Many years have since passed. My relationship with the guitar is stronger than ever and she....well she is no longer even a faint memory.
Just what I need on this grey morning. I read with interest your write up on Antonio Lauro whom I had never heard of. Great, like finding a rainbow at my window. Thank You.
Brilliant! Simply Brilliant! What a beautiful selection of Maestro Lauro's creations. Great work by Cristiano Poli Capelli. Once again, thank you for sharing the beauty and passion of this music. Brilliant as always.

I understand!
Your post made me smile, Jayakumar. You expressed yourself so well, that I felt I could see and hear (and smell) the scene just as you lived it.
