Only problem with this video is that it doesn't tell you how to do the trick.
It's made with tool assist, a hack. But of course, he won't say it and play the great player. ^^
most of it was made with glitch not with hacks.
bladounet only some of this looks suspect, as i have done most of these tricks myself. The wall jump out of water is BS in my opinion, alot of the rest looks legit.
ive beat the game in an hr before well 12yrs ago when i was 18 on my actual snes console i was damb good i mastered many of the tricks but some of these defy the natural game mechanics........i would like to know how if they reall are possible without hacks or cheats
Only the super metroid impossible clips where tool assisted. Anyone can tell that. Give him credit. The wall jump out of water was a super metroid clip and tool assisted but even if it wasn't it's super easy to do that. Watch a speedrun of this game. Those guys are unbelievable.
best metroid game ever? best GAME ever. It's flawless. Even with these glitches, they only add to the already flawless masterpiece. This and the Metroid Prime trilogy are imo perfection. Anybody who disagrees either hasn't played them or hasn't played them enough to understand. You have to savor these games like a work of art. You can't get it all in just one play through. You have to keep looking at it and find new things everytime that you didn't notice before. This is art. Not just for shits and giggles and to pass the time. It's far beyond such simple ideas.
Super Metroid is probably my favorite game, but it has it's flaws. I think the biggest flaw is how the Space Jump works. It's just a mess, sometimes it works and sometimes it dosen't. Still a masterpiece tho.
there are plenty of flaws, no games are flawless. The fact that the game can be beaten in any order isnt really a good thing. Its bad design, although it makes for a fun speedrun there are so many glitches and bugs. Not to mention the sand part in maridia and like the guys above me said the space jump is so stupid. It doesnt explain how it works ive mastered it yet sometimes it just fails
@@taccm386 How the hell is sequence breaking bad design? If anything it's good, because it lets you freshen up the experience if your skill is high enough.
I can name a great many flaws in this game.
I personally think fusion is superior despite being more linear but super is my second most fav tied with prime 1

The most impressive thing to me is your infinite bomb jump. That is VERY hard to time. Awesome video!
Fusion is pretty sweet though, and more open ended than you may think, a little more linear but there were connections points to all five of the different habitats and just a great story

This remained my favorite game from release up until Witcher 3 or damn near 20 years. This person is the best player I've seen with these techniques. I can do the bomb jump, and sometimes the speedball, that's it lol.
All of these tricks can be done without a Tool-Assist.
All of it can be done in the original Super Metroid with no help whatsoever.

Judging by the layout of some of the areas, some of these tricks may have been totally intended. Other ones, such as the glitches I was completely unaware of.
I am kind of surprised you guys didn't show any of the "super moves" that are available in he game.
I used the wall-jump for the power bomb on one of my first playthroughs, and I didn't even realize it was a secret/ Easter egg/ cheese.
I love both Super Metroid and Metroid Prime.

Haven't heard Frozen Solid in years! I wish I was as good as wall jumping as you. When it was first released, people must have played it for ages to find out all this stuff since they couldn't look it up on the internet :p
Yup. I remember going through the whole game with a fine tooth comb once I had the x-ray scope to find absolutely everything I could and then figure out how to get everything as well. Wrote it all down in detail and how to get everything lol

What a good game this and Castlevania SOTN carved a path to where we r now in gaming....
it's best if you practice on an emulator in slow-mo until you get good at it. first, hold run button. run a few steps and jump. you must continue to hold run button. enter morph ball as you are landing and immediately move your finger from down to forward. you'll know you did it right if the morph ball doesn't bounce. you have to hold the run button the entire time, and if you don't go from down to forward correctly, you'll lose the momentum even if you timed morph correctly.

This game was awesome and one of my favorite. I knew about some of these but not others. I was never good at the diagonal shoulder charge.
Me neither. They say you don't activate it when you flip jump but you do when you don't flip jump. I've never been able to get it. I've done it before but totally by accident lol
you left out ONE trick with the shinespark section. :Midair Shinespark: What you do is charge a regular shinespark, do a running jump, (to where you are flipping) then press R (this is with the default controls) then perform a shinespark as normal. :)
if i remember you first neeed to get the echoes when you are speed running then press down on the directional pad. Then i think you have to press jump or shoot next in the direction you wanna just cannnon your self :)
Excelente juego. Precisamente el poder jugarlo de maneras diferentes y omitir partes y objetos, además de la gran cantidad de detalles que incluyeron lo convirtieron en una obra maestra. Yo en sus primeros años de lanzamiento "descubrí" varios de estos trucos y eso me cautivó más. Muy buen video con buena música de Jake Kaufman (virt) con las piezas de su Megamix y de Cristal Flash.

Super Metroid is in the top 10 games in the world of all time, and the best Metroid game out of them all.
in your/their opinions, i personally prefer fusion. and if the arguement is it innovated the exploration gerne it doesn't make the game better, i personally hate or just dont care about the so called masterpieces, the final boss of kirby returns to dreamland is seen has one of the best final bosses ever, however i see him has a peice of shit. my point is people have different opinions. and you gotta deal with it.

I don’t know why speedball is so funny to me.
I have used the electric grapple to kill the Maridia boss every time. When I first fought him, none of my weapons couple penetrate his armor. I noticed he would grapple me every so often. I shot one of the cannons and saw there were electrified circuits behind it. I remembered using the grapple beam on these harms so. So I thought "Let him grab me again and give him juice." Surprise surprise. He bit the big one!
I didn't think like that back then. The bastard grabbed me and in desperation I mashed buttons. It was a coincidence that the grapple beam came out. The rest is history.
I guess never generations will never understand how we did everything without internet, having only magazines and the oh-so-powerfull breaks conversations during school.
Oh man, I was balling while pissed off when Motherbrain killed my little, well big, Metriod buddy who reconized my panic alarm going off twice, I was shocked by alarm going off afterwards though for the planet about to blow up. I was all like, who pulled the self destruct switch!? That was scary, I barely made it back to the ship, RIP Metriod buddy.
I tried to see if getting more and less reserve tanks alters the ending so my Metriod buddy doesn't die, but no matter what, it is eneitible. 😥

Since you were showing some pretty common tricks, I think you could have showed the single weapons charge with the power bomb as well. Many players still don't know them.
I love this game a lot, but Prime is still my favorite. Either way, Metroid is awesome and these moves are bad ass.

Also...there are some areas in this video I don't recall ever being in the game...and I played this down to every nook and cranny.

I know I am a year late but I guess the reason you are having trouble with wall jump is because you probably press the opposite direction of the wall on the d pad and the jump button at the same time. You should press the opposite direction first and THEN a split second later press the jump button not at the same time.

the charge beam trick was the only one I found on first play through of the game. I called it the "early screw attack"

when i was little i must have tried for months to try and get an early power bomb. thank god early wave beam was easier

@@PChamileon97 If you are still interested, there are a few videos explaining how to do that, the timing is a pain though.
Basically, you face away from where you want to go, then press the direction you DO want to go just long enough for samus to take ~1/2-1 step. Let go, and press that direction again, and the run animation should NOT be interupted if you do it right, repeat it for a third press, and this time tap the dash button just as her background foot hits the ground, I believe each time you just tap the dash button as that foot lands it shortens the distance you need to run to build up a booster charge. if you ever MISS a tap it resets you back to 0 charge however, so most speed runners on do 2-3 taps, but TAS runs can build speed boost in INSANELY small spaces thanks to that (I think about 1/3 to 1/2 of a single screen is the limit, definitely no speed runner/TASer though, so I could easily be wrong.)
The timing is ridiculous, and it usually takes me 10 or even dozens of tries to get a short boost in the area you have for the blue suit trick (not that I have ever TRIED to get blue suit, but there are a couple hacks which have items you need to do this for in order to get, one even requires a short charge speed BALL to get spring jump.)
The bomb jumps are strictly timing, I am terrible with those.
The mock ball just lets you maintain dash speed while in ball form and it is done by running, jumping, and rolling into a ball AS you hit the ground. When done properly you do not bounce as you land and you maintain full dash speed while being in ball form.
Speed ball is just doing mock ball while speed boosted instead of just while dashing.
The short distance speedboost is explained just above this reply, it is long, so I won't repeat it here.
The electro-grapple in the video is pretty self explanatory: As you get grabbed by the boss, grapple to one of the electrified sockets and the boss will also be electrified.
I am pretty sure anyone who has bothered to play the game knows wall jump by now, but it is just pressing away from the wall you are touching while spin jumping, and pressing jump 1-5 frames later. For a repeated jump off the same wall, you just press back towards the wall as soon as the previous wall jump is completed, and when you touch the wall again, repeat the process.
In the mother brain room leading up to her aquarium, the barriers show up one-by-one so the second set of barriers only show up when the previous set is destroyed, thus if you can skip the first barrier, the others never spawn. I don't remember the exact process, but you have to freeze the ring that spawns directly below the first barrier from underneath it just as it is created, then jump up the the platform so that you are interacting with the frozen ring and jump through the barrier.
The rest are mostly weird glitches that are a PAIN to do, and I am sure if you care enough about the game to manage them, you have already looked up detailed step-by-step video guides and practiced them for DAYS.
That was fucking SICK!! When you think you've seen it all!

Fuck my life I barely started playing this game and I can't even jump off walls without failing at least 4 times.
when I first started this I couldn't to it either. you have to be pressing the opposite direction of the wall

The problem is you expect to be able to hit jump and turn away simultaneously, when you have to turn away BEFORE hitting jump. I've gotten a lot better at it and just finished my third playthrough of it.
I actually got wave beam early because i was like i can totally wall jump up that and i did. almost died trying to get out of the pit though

In some of these clips I noticed some textures that looked hd and smooth nothing like in the original game. Is that a texture pack or edited rom or something for super Metroid, or just a trim? Would really like to know.
I always thought it was "Mach"ball, because it was basically you in your ball form but you moved a lot faster.

Where you select your power bomb, then take everything but Plasma and Charge off? lol yeah. I loved doing that one. Can't do most of this crap (fast recovery using a power bomb, mock ball or stuff like that.) But I can do a few tricks at least...
When your health is below 30 you press L and then press R and use a powerbomb.. Be sure you have 11 powerbombs 10 missle and 10 super missle to preform this and this regens all life including Reserve Tanks!
I gotta learn the mockball for when i upload my super metroid clips.

You can't shoot while doing the trick or the game freezes. Turn into a morphing ball and release the charge. Once you've reset the game fix your beams back to normal to be able to shoot without freezing. It should do the trick
