Car channels will never be the same again thanks to these amazing videos........apart from Bad Obsession, they will always be awesome! Cheers George, loving these!👍
Tbh this is such a simple car, you cant do much wrong. Its literally a steel box with a couple bolt on pieces. And ik its not that easy but taking apart any car from the 2000s or whatever is going to be worse
Just found soup a week ago and finally finished the whole thing up until this point. So cool to see a fellow surfer with a passion for restoring classics.
Absolutely outstanding channel! Only discovered Soup a couple of weeks ago when you were re-fabricating the front panel of the chassis and was so impressed that I just had to subscribe. Just finished blitzing the whole series. I didn't realize that you were just a regular guy like the rest of us, working with basic tools and next to no budget. Having owned a few classics myself in the past I know just how very hard to have worked to get this far. With your "knuckle down" attitude, you are a positive inspiration for anyone who wants to get started in the fantastic world of car restoration. Keep it up, this is pure gold! 👍👍👍
Sucks being locked down, and not getting stuck in. I know these weekly uploads are a bit at odds with the “thing”, but I’m thankful for all your efforts, and soon you’ll be back in the thick of it.
besides the outstanding workmanship on the car, I'm each time equally fascinated by your stop motion filming. And can't even fathom how much work you put in just amaze us! thank you and hope you never stop! Thank you
Just found this channel this morning. Terrific. I have four cars in line waiting for attention just like this. This is motivating as hell. 86 e30 and an 89 lancia delta are first. Soon as the snow melts here in the states. By then i should have watched all the videos. Thanks again.
I have to say, I've watched all your videos to date. This series has rekindled my love of true restorations. Start small, I just got a small garden tractor running and looking good enough due to your series. If it weren't for "logistical problems", I'd support you on Patreon. Let's hope "shipping" gets back to normal soon. And I really need you to ship me a RHD W123...pretty please...
Just wanted to say how much I appreciate all the effort you put into the stop-motion, it adds so much to your videos, love it :) And I really wish the downvoters were forced to explain what in the world offended them so much that had to give it a thumbs down...
Yeah George. Long time watcher, first time writer. I'm over in the USA and as much as I enjoy the content, I enjoy the slight language differences (spanner, bonnet,...). So I'm planning on a mug and t-shirt from your store in the near future, and I have an idea. "Stay stuck in", or "Until next time, stay stuck in" whether indented or not has become your catch phrase and I'd love to see it on merch as well. Just a thought.
Thanks for giving me a shout Randy, and a good shout it is. I'll get on that and see what I can come up with. Give me a day or two and I'll come back to you :)
Brilliant George its great to see the car torn down to the bones, goes to show the amount of cleaning , dirt , debris, and dodgy wiring that exists in some of these old birds :keep ups the good work,
I've been offline and just managed to find you again. You inspired me to buy more guitars and actually learn to play better. Of course they are much cheaper than cars and take up a lot less room. Slainte
Ture that its not the episode i have been expecting, but that said i have not been expecting anything so soon after the last one. :) Im really happy production of this speed up.
Best to check the wiring loom matches the schematic colour codes, they can change over time and DIY bodger's have been known to swap out old conductors using different colours. Make notes if they differ to save confusion later on.
Don't you sleep George? You posted this video at approximately 03.00!! Anyways, I love your videos and I have seen every single minute of every single episode. Keep up the good work
You're gonna have to organise some sort of a car meet later in the Spring/Summer George when all this madness has settled, so we can finally get to see the fruits of your labours (and bring along our own 'never ending projects' too). Obviously this is probably easiest for your other Irish subscribers here (I'm in Dublin by the way), so anywhere close to Lucan will be grand!!! 😂😂
Awesome vid mate. Can't wait to see how this all comes together. I also can not believe how cars like this get into this kind of state in the first place. Well done for taking on such a massive project.
Always love it when I see you have put a new video up. When you finish this project, it'll likely be one of the most valuable Espris. Keep up the fantastic work!
It's from (-) to (+) your bench demonstration had it backwards. The flow is from the negative side down to the bench across the bench up through the vise through the Michelin Man and then out the Michelin Man back to the positive.
Yeah, just cleaning all those chassis earth points will vastly improve everything. I've had nasty intermittent probs on modern car ECUs cured just by cleaning all the earths.
I'd have labelled everything as I'd definitely forget what's what when pulling it out of the box days/months/years (delete as appropriate) later ;-) But you have photos and videos and 70's wiring was much simpler back in those days. Whatever you do though whether it be repair/replace/rebuild the loom is to do it on the bench as it will be much easier than in the car.
The shot of the loom removing itself from the car - just brilliant!
Not being labeled 😱
@@michelmoonen3433 In fairness he has like a million pictures
Your videos are amazing! not many people appreciate the work that goes into stop motion
Just the bolt turns alone. wow
This and Ronald Fingers Fiero are two of my favourute restoration series on youtube
He does great things :)
Car channels will never be the same again thanks to these amazing videos........apart from Bad Obsession, they will always be awesome! Cheers George, loving these!👍
I appreciate that! thanks Stuart
You’re in for a world of fun putting that back. I’m scared for you
Tbh this is such a simple car, you cant do much wrong. Its literally a steel box with a couple bolt on pieces. And ik its not that easy but taking apart any car from the 2000s or whatever is going to be worse
Ohhhh yes ... never praise the pace .. before that one stubborn menace of a bolt . Vaya Con Drillholes 😄
The camera panning between stop motion sequences is amazing.
A bush from the '70s? I prefer to remember them as a welcome mat. :-D
A bush in the 70s was a tv...haha
A Bush from the '70s? Was it Kate?
Just found soup a week ago and finally finished the whole thing up until this point. So cool to see a fellow surfer with a passion for restoring classics.
Welcome aboard! see what I did there ;) Thanks man

Will do, thanks a mill :)

Great to hear! Good luck with them
The electric set up on the bench where Bibendum glows.... better than 1960’/70’s Italian car wiring!!
New to the channel and really enjoying it!
You got some monster balls to take on a Lotus...Lucas electronics.... you’re crushing it!!! Awesome!!!
🤣🍻
Fond memories of the fuller wiring. Dangerously inspirational viewing. 👍🏻👍🏻

All these Soup videos! Am I in heaven?

You wouldn't be any the wiser ;) Thank you!
It ain't nothing like finding a cool channel when you bored
Glad you got here 💪🏼
Nice to see the original color, under the headlights.
Fair play for keeping us entertained with some content instead of nothing, I understand.
At least you have a photo proof where the wires came from! Great vid as always!
Cheers George, inviting us to share your projects in such an innovative way is brilliant, well appreciated and truly classic... keep it up mate.
Beautifully crafted lyrical and visual goodness. Thinking about being a patron👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
If you can make it turn into a submarine, I'm all in! Always LOVE the stop motion! :)
working on the physics now ;)
Another fantastic episode. Your skills are off the chart! Editing is mind-blowing. 👀
Thank you so much :)
Clicked for animated spaghetti. Was not disappointed. Loving what you're doing and the quality of your videos!
Yes! thank you!
mate your filming and editing must take you so long. it's awesome. seriously love this channel, wish I found it sooner

Yeah amazing how it all builds up over the years, largely unnoticed :)
New music I see. I really like it. I appreciate this project recap for those that haven't been around as long
Surely you hear the music, not see it🤣
I was thinking, oooh car porn.
Next thing I hear is , 70s bush.
Nice.
The music at 9:00 had me JAMMIN'. And that's with multitasking to your video. Good stuff.
I've been offline and just managed to find you again. You inspired me to buy more guitars and actually learn to play better. Of course they are much cheaper than cars and take up a lot less room. Slainte
I’ve almost been watching these for a year, since our COVID lockdown here in NZ. I love these animations
Me impresiona tu trabajo. Espero que la gente vea más tus vídeos y se suscriban cada vez. Ánimos
Phenomenal production quality George.
The king of tear down videos
Great video. This really helps me with re wiring my 65 MGB. I am really looking forward to having more than two fuses for the entire car.
lol, that'll only be a good thing. Glad the vid was some use :)
Great work as always, George. You’re the kind of guy I’d like to visit so we could sit around and talk cars, maybe even poke around a few!
Your a very brave man for pulling that out, thank you
You're a brave man, changing the nationality of an English car to Brazilian....
Logistics have gotten logistical alright...thanks for an enjoyable video
Oh Dude,God bless us with patience like your. You are doing a great job.
Thanks 👍
Ture that its not the episode i have been expecting, but that said i have not been expecting anything so soon after the last one. :) Im really happy production of this speed up.
I screamed when I see that wiring 😱😱😱
"Bush from the 70's" had me cracked open hahahahaha 🤣
Epic narrative, no doubt about that!
12 mins is just not long enough, just as I get settled in and start to enjoy the episode it's over. Looking forward to the next one.
Best to check the wiring loom matches the schematic colour codes, they can change over time and DIY bodger's have been known to swap out old conductors using different colours. Make notes if they differ to save confusion later on.
One of the coolest cars ever made.
What was the Esprit NCAP rating with the plywood floor?
I love your stop motion work. Reminds me of the movie Tetsuo🤗
Thanks for getting back to this car, its been so long since you started it...
Your videos are excellent. It actually feels like l am doing the work( without the skint knuckles of course ).
Loving the animation on these videos!
Don't you sleep George? You posted this video at approximately 03.00!! Anyways, I love your videos and I have seen every single minute of every single episode. Keep up the good work
Love the music, can feel your adrenaline while discovering the vestiges of her former glory. The last 5 minutes are pure high : )
Great as always! I'm truly enjoying seeing how the old lotus was put together.
You're gonna have to organise some sort of a car meet later in the Spring/Summer George when all this madness has settled, so we can finally get to see the fruits of your labours (and bring along our own 'never ending projects' too). Superb work again George.
Ngl, thought you were doing a Manscaped ad when you said you know where I'm going with this, and I'm glad you didn't
Love the way you animated wiring snaking through the car!
Mesmerising video editing. Love it
As always still a great episode
A bush from the 70’s Hahahahaha very entertaining awesome job George!
Unless you have a VX220 or an Elise, then there are negative wires too. Fibreglass and aluminium construction.
I really enjoy your videos, and yes 😊 like a "Bush " from the seventies 👍
Always a welcome sight to see your videos hit
Awesome vid mate. Can't wait to see how this all comes together. I also can not believe how cars like this get into this kind of state in the first place. Well done for taking on such a massive project.
I've got harnesses to manage on a few things and this video gives me anxiety, lol. I love your production, man
Hope it all goes well for you !
Most of the world works with "conventional current flow", which is (+) to (-). Yes, we know the electrons flow the other way.
I worked on Lotus for nearly 14 years but have never seen wiring that bodged, what a mess! All the best with your project.
It's spectacular isn't it! Thanks
Chalking the car out to display the harness was :chefskiss:
I am consistently impressed by everything this guy does.
Due to your beautiful filming style, how many times longer do you think restoration will take 🤔 10x?
8:13 this seems like a great spot for a positive and a negative wire to meet each other :)
What a huge undertaking but well worth it love these cars
seems bigger every day, but you said it... :)
Converting it to multiplex/Canbus would be such a cool project, especially for this car given the weight saving.
Don't start me adding things to the list!
I shudder to think how long this took to film but it's one of my favourite episodes.
Keep up the good/interesting/entirely addictive to watch work, sir.
Cheers from Canada.
love what you are doing, was one of my favourite cars, Colin would love it too, I’m sure.
Hope so!
2:45 This car can also be used as a harvesting machine. I love your videos. Please keep it up!
Thank George. You’re always a great inspiration to keep my own project going. Cheers from Australia.
So creative, love this series
Love the way you do these videos
i never get tired of his videos...just brilliant and enlightening...thx..needed this
You've made me want a Lotus now!
You've got vision then :)
Yeah, just cleaning all those chassis earth points will vastly improve everything. I've had nasty intermittent probs on modern car ECUs cured just by cleaning all the earths.
Your a class act George 👍
Nice tunes George love it!
Glad you like 'em :)
Great work as always, George!
Loving the stop motion. Almost like Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer", but you maybe call your tribute "Angle!....Anglegrinder!"
Man, I love your videos!!! Keep going! You're the best!!!
Thanks! Will do!
Cool video. Work of art 👍
Good Morning George
Amazing work once again 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you so much 😀
You must have the patience of a saint!
this might talk as long as it does to become one ;)
Just love the animation camera work background music keep doing what you are doing your on a winner with me :-)
Thanks, will do! :)
George, did you get to drive the Esprit at all before you took it all apart?
Excellent video again, thank you.
