They are a bit underpowered for the gearing they come with, that's why I like my little fms power wagon, that 2 speed will crawl super slow and the high will shit and git lol
I’m hoping a 2 speed comes out soon to fix that issue. The low gear is great but yes it does make it extremely slow. Sometimes if I had a little more wheel speed I would be able to power out of things
Top speed is definitely limited and many people would find it too slow, especially for a car that a lot of younger kids are going to end up with. I ended up getting a Mofo 150 motor and a hobbywing 1080 ESC to go with my crawler gears and you get some top end back while having very good low speed modulation.
Thanks man!! You won’t be disappointed in it. It’s come so far.. it’s a defender now and nearly all metal. I got the trailer from a local Hobby shop. Traxxas has been adamant about supporting local shops before online. So if your lucky enough to have a local shop I would go there. If not, these people online are up charging on the trailers. Retail is $30 from Traxxas and I wouldn’t spend more than that. Good luck on your new rig man!!!
Yes sir, low gears, beadlocks and Traxxas wheel weights up front. Light kit adds some realism to the rig. I’ve got the Baja pros and shocks coming so I will be making another video soon. Thanks man!!
Best action I’ve seen yet with the TRXM4. Low gearing is what these things need out of the gate, IMO.

Thanks @MichaelORourkeProd. I couldn’t agree more, the amount of torque and low speed makes for some extremely awesome shots.

@RC XPLORER maybe you could make a fms transmission fit in there somehow? Just a thought, I know I'd like to do the same for my scx24 gladiator

Thanks‼️ @Jake_Willis, subscribe for more content like this. Got a lot coming!!
I totally agree with you!
Very nice video. I like your doggo. What tyres are those btw?
Thanks man and they are the stocks but the ones in the trailer are RC4WD BFG
I use low gear with airplane outrunner - got a bit more speed on the to0
Which wheels are those?
Traxxas 1.0 method beadlocks, they are plastic but with the wheel weights it’s planted
That’s very scale speed when you watch real 4x4 crawling. They are even slower when trying to get over something.
Its the best mini crawler out of the box..i also have some videos Trx4m vs WPL C24 @Overlandradiocontrol
