- We went to the ALL NEW Pandora: World of Avatar at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom! We were amazed at how the Imagineers recreated an alien world in a Disney park! We give our first impressions and reviews of the land itself, both new rides, (Na'vi River Journey and Flight of Passage) the quick serve restaurant, (Satu'li Canteen), and the bar (Pongu Pongu). Don't get me wrong, the scenery is absolutely stunning and I've been waiting for something like this and pretty sure others have been waiting as well! But Disney really needs to add more animatronics and and just better rides for this theme because Avatar in this state can have so much potential!
expect more in this decade with all the movies coming out for Avatar

I actually think that was intentional. They want Pandora to be a 'World". The movie just introduced you to that "world". If there are going to be more movies, they can design other attractions if/when there's something in the new movies that warrants a new attraction.

They signed on for more movies ( i think its 4 more ) that will be coming out. They said they incorporated some of the land scenes into the ride.

Exactly! My husband and I honeymooned in October and didn't do more than a half hour wait for anything. We re-circled the parks a few times when we saw things had low waits, but it was more than worth it!
I agree. everyone that has reviewed it so far, basically had "VIP" treatment, no lines, etc... but once the herds are let in, & multi hour wait times are factored in, there's no way I would wait hours to get on a boat and look @ one animatronic, pretty colors, and a few screens.(the flight ride looks nice though). Probably the biggest plus would be everything else in Animal Kingdom may have shorter wait times

I love that added little leaf bounce on the Navi River Journey. It shows the attention to detail they really put into the whole section of the park
I was one of the people that got emotional after FOP.... I never saw the movie but I felt like I was actually on a banshee. I hope since you originally rode this ride 4 years ago, you have a better appreciation for it.
As a non-Avatar fan I have to say that the theming of this new land is visually stunning. It kind of makes me angry when considering some of the attractions that Disney has added in the past 8 or so years, compaired to this, those attractions just seemed phoned in and here we see what Disney can still do, but didn't for those others. While nicely themed, the River Journey could stand some excitement elements of some kind. As for Flight of Passage... Soarin is my favorite Disney attraction (if I win the lotto, a version of soarin is going in my house) so I am super excited for this ride and as I said, I am not an Avavtar fan.

What an exciting vlog!! It's not often you guys get to report on a BRAND NEW area in the parks. It just kinda hit me that what we're seeing here is here to stay and will be thrilling guests for decades to come! Thanks for sharing. It looks incredible! And I love that they use real-world science experiments to theme the lab, like the strobing water/ferrofluids/Kundt's tube. That's super rad. Joe Rohde should be proud!!

I really think that flight of passage is an absolutely amazing ride. I do know it's a simulator but I think it immerses you like no other ride. The way the story ties in is astonishing. I think this really blows all simulators out of the water. The technology used was absolutely amazing and I think that the way you are flying around pandora and encountering all the different animals and creatures is breathtaking. I did get very emotional on this ride I have to admit but the quality and ride experience is so amazing I can't see how anyone couldn't! The whole thing was an absolute emotional and thrilling journey and i can say flight of passage is one of my favourite Disney rides. I understand how people can be saying they don't like how it uses screens but sometimes you need to ignore the fact that it is a screen and take the ride without thinking it's 'cheap' because with all the advanced effects on the ride I am sure it wasn't 'cheap', it was just the only way you could really pull of the effects and put you in that perspective of riding the banshee. For the river journey you really need to go into it expecting a beautiful family attraction, with no scary moments or thrilling scenes. This ride is a very kid and family oriented ride with so much detail. Pandora is honestly a gorgeous are and after being there today for the first time I can't wait to go back and experience it at night. I went in to pandora without seeing any pictures or videos beforehand as I didn't want any spoilers. I think pandora was a perfect fit for animal kingdom.

#insomniagang this place looks so dope! I believe if they add maybe like 1 or 2 more rides in the future it's going to definitely be a huge competitor for Harry Potter world. Aesthetic wise they are head to head but attraction wise pandora is slacking a little bit.

This is crazy because there is so much they don't even notice that helps the experience, such as the plates in the cafeteria, or the hand-made roofs over the buildings. I can't wait to go and experience this.

I really appreciated Jenn's review of Flight Of Passage. I am not big on drops (even the drop on Pirates give me anxiety) but Jenn's review makes it sound like it is a mix of Soarin with the flying experience and maybe slightly like Star Tours with the drops and immersion. I think I can handle this ride when I go to Disney World again :)

Soaring and Forbidden Journey had some tough drops, but overall I could handle it. I forced myself to handle Forbidden Journey. There was no way I wasn't going to fly through Hogwarts 😂

It really blew my mind!
i went to disney world for the very first time when i was 17, and that was now almost two years ago to the date. it was such an amazing experience. i had been to parks like six flags before, and years beforehand i had gone to dollywood in Tennessee and that whole trip was a little underwhelming, so naturally i came into Disney with some skepticism.
however, i was greeted with probably one of the most amazing and immersive experiences of my entire life. we stayed on the Disney property in the yacht club hotel, and we had free ferry rides to Hollywood studios as well as Epcot. every employee there was super friendly and made every step of the experience that much more amazing.
one thing that i still remember is the amazing sights and how immersive every ride was. it was as if i was in a Disney movie. reality itself has ceased to exist the entire 6 days we were there.
the rides and decorations were also very immersive. i remember doing expedition Everest and looking at that large artificial mountain. it looked so realistic and so cool. i also did test track. it was an experience i was expecting to be ordinary but everything about it made it my favorite ride there.
and looking at this video, seeing the amazing detail put into everything, like the floating mountains, the sidewalks that light up. it almost makes me regret not waiting a couple more years to go. i suppose i'll simply have to help my familly save up to go again. i seriously am hyped up for the new avatar world and knowing how they do things there, hearing the words "flight of passage" lets me know that it's going to be an amazin, immersive experience that makes me feel like i'm really in the movie.
i mean hell. they even put so much work into the QUE of the ride. i suppose they want every moment of the wait to simply get you more excited, rather than bored.

Finally got to ride both of these and visited Animal Kingdom for the first time today. It’s my new favorite park. I love how laid back the place is
animal kingdom is my third favorite. The only rides I enjoy are flight of passage and everest, so animal kingdom has never, not once, been my favorite

I'm looking forward to na'vi boat ride because its a dark boat ride. Those are my favorite types for rides too. I kind of got an E.T. vibe too, which is also my favorite.

Ok, from someone who truly and deeply dislikes the movie Avatar, I did find this place very cool. From an attraction standpoint, I think it was very well done. The attention to detail was evident; the black light/glow in the dark aspects were beautiful, and the landscaping was impeccable. I don't know if I would get as much out of it as people who actually like the movie, but I'm really glad I got a chance to see it. Thank you so much, Tim & Jenn! ❤❤

DING DANG!!!! they're so many speechless moments in Pandora. It's so much immersion that you can't see everything all at once. I think you'll see something new every time you visit there. Disney did a tremendous job with Pandora. it gives me more excitement when star wars land is finish. ah so amazing. Just speechless. And so many ding dang and holy macaroni moments. Tim you did an awesome job trying to film much as you could. Just awesome.

This is crazy to me. Every time I ride Flight of Passage my face hurts from smiling! It's unlike anything I've ever experienced :) I think that's why people cry and rave about it, it's like a slice of heaven.

I totally agree with you Tim, that the theming is on par with WWOHP. Where it falls short in comparison for Wizarding World for me is that I can't see the ability to plan a full vacation simply around this one land. I can easily do two full days in the Wizarding World even though there are only two more rides than Pandora has, and that's just because I feel like there's more to do in terms of being a fan. With Pandora, I don't see that kind of ability to invest a full day in, aside from what the inevitably crazy long lines would cause. Plus, as a larger guest, the seats for Flight of Passage make me a little apprehensive, as I'm able to fit on everything in the Wizarding World with no issues at all. That being said, I think Disney did an amazing job on Pandora, and I hope I get to experience it in the near future. I just think that in terms of it being an answer to Wizarding World, it doesn't quite have the same effect. Great video as always!
In my mind the seats for Forbidden Journey are just as tight as the seats on Flight of passage. From what I have been hearing though the leg restraints are the biggest issue.
TheTimTracker Oh, good to know! I can fit comfortably in the modified seat at the very end of the bench in Forbidden Journey but the regular ones are a no go. Thanks for being so helpful!
Sierra Green Laramie is a pretty big guy and apparently was able to ride it without issues.
This was an awesome video and the honest reactions and criticism sell me so much more than the production team just saying buzzwords in short clips. The footage was A+ too.

I just went here today, even though you won’t see this comment, I highly recommend going on the pandora 4-D, it is so awesome, when you go down, on the screen it goes supper fast, and wind will blow on you, depending what direction the movie takes you, and it’s not like a theatre set up either, but it is, it is not rows lined up horizontally, but vertically, so there will be a section above or below you, depending where you are chosen to sit, but not in front of behind, it was so realistic that my stomach knotted for the first fall, but after that it was fine, don’t get confused though, it is not a ride, the seats only rocks around, personally I don’t like rollercoasters, but this is not like a roller coaster if that is the reason you don’t want to go on it, overall good ride

I feel like every time I go somewhere,when I leave they always announce some big new ride or attraction.......(last year I went to Disney=Pandora)(This Summer I'm going to Universal again and they will have fast and furious next year+construction for Nintendo Land) You guys are so lucky you live in Florida bc you can go any time

Never in my life, have I ever visited a foreign culture such as the Americans. This capacity to build dreams and movies and arts into tangible reality is something that keeps me in awe since my childhood, since my first visits to Disney or even Jurassic Park.

The flight of passage was our favorite! It honestly blew us away. The next time you guys go back you should definitely try the Night Blossom drink. It was delicious! I'm glad you guys got to experience Pandora. 😄

Waited three hours to ride this over six months ago. Best experience I will ever had. The way it’s being described right now just makes me so sad. It ages well in memories is I guess what I’m saying.
Addressing the concern about plus sized riders not fitting on this ride... I have a suggestion to correct this problem. Exchange the 2 middle seats in the row, with 2 plus size seats, for larger riders. That
enables around 20% of the US population, which is overweight (or obese,
as I'm in that group myself) to be seated, and it puts the majority of
weight of passengers, on the center pivot point, where the robotic arm
grabs the cage (unit with all seats in a section), which is the securest
location for the weight distribution.
Have cast members load the waiting chambers, and place only 2 large
riders per group, and place them on the special spots (numbers on floor)
for larger riders, explaining that they will be riding larger creatures
(perhaps make them feel good about it by saying that these are larger,
more powerful beast, which only the strongest riders could control).
I feel like, for some people, being able to look around and see the other riders or your bags might make them stay “grounded”. For someone prone to motion sickness or something, if a break is needed they could look at the other riders. I can’t wait to ride this ride cause it does look incredible! I do love soarin though too! I love the immersive rides and stuff and relaxing rides. I’m not a huge thrill seeker so these rides are up my alley!
