Edward Lodewijk Van Halen was a Dutch-American guitarist, known as co-founder and guitarist of the hard rock band Van Halen. He was not only an innovator in rock music, but also technically, including guitar design, guitar reinforcement and guitar effects.
My favourite Dutch artist of all time is Floor Jansen. She has a musical career since 1997 and is considered by many as the best and most versitale female singer of our time. Currently she is member of the Symphonic Metal band 'Nightwish' from Finland. The common 'introduction' to this band is the song 'Ghost Love Score' from Wacken 2013. The feeling you get when she is hitting that last note is called a 'Floorgasm', so be prepared for that. Since 1997 she was in the metal bands 'After forever' and 'Revamp' before joining 'Nightwish' october 1st 2012 on very short notice (she had 48 hours to learn the whole setlist). She performed in several side projects and featured in many other bands as guest. Since a couple of years she persued a solo career also besides 'Nightwish'. Go visit her TH-cam channel and unpack some of the many presents she left there.
Golden Earing have been going since 1961, they're one of the all time top Netherlands bands.
When my daughter was 4 years old, the drummer Cesar Zuiderwijk came to my daughters school to give a drum session. At the end he asked the kids: "Who of you boys wants the be a drummer like me?" On which my daughter said: "No, I want to be a drummer just like Phil Collins!"

I grew up with the Goldon Earing, the former drummer was my neighbour. I am born and lived in the Hague, Netherlands. the city where they come from. I have seen them a few times

Radar Love did not get released here in Canada until the spring of 1974, when I was 19. It quickly became the anthem of that summer. I ran out and bought the Moontan album, and for my money, side 1 is one of the best rock LP sides I have ever heard. Radar Love, Candy's Going Bad and Vanilla Queen. A time stamp on some of the best years of my life.
Hi...thanks for your response video, unfortunately you didn't play it all the way, after the drum solo the song continued. I am a young woman and grew up with Golden Earring thanks to my father who was a big fan (he is no longer alive). Golden Earring has a treasure chest full of music, do yourself a favor and delve into it. Unfortunately, the Golden Earring stopped due to the illness (ALS muscle disease) of singer/guitarist/founder George Kooymans. Great to see someone on the other side of the world appreciating Golden Earring!❤❤
Hocus pocus from the band focus.
They played for more than 50 years. Unfortunately they had to stop recentely because guitarplayer George Kooymans has ALS. I worked a couple of times for them as a technician. And! They are from my hometown of the Hague.
Eddie’s brother Alex van Halen, the drummer was also born in the Netherlands.
Never seen them live, but seen them on MTV live in the 80s 🤘😎👍🎥

The greatest Dutch band of all times. I've known them since I was a little girl. Unfortunately they had to stop performing a couple of years ago due to ALS of one of the guitar players, George Kooymans (the one with the white hair).
I have seen them countless times on stage, they are/were great. Check out Shoking Blue with the song Venus, they're Dutch too, or Hocus Pocus from Focus.
