A very good video, although there is an error, the Bangkok SRT Airport Rail Link and the Seoul AREX is actually heavy rail, both operating at a speed of 110-120 km/h. The Bangkok one is particular glaring since until Crossrail took over the stopping service, Heathrow Connect operate the stopping service using the same Desiros as the ones used in Bangkok.(Then again British Rail train are so small that even KL MRT (3.1m width ) is actually wider than most British train(2.8m in width)
Thanks for the explanation, I always thought the price is still not at the point where I resort to taking grab. Its easier to organize the journey from home to klia as I can switch to mrt to get closer to home and as oppose to having family member take more than an hour return trip driving instead (if there is no jam).
At one time, they wanted to extend to malacca and even to singapore but wanted RM1 bil subsidy a year. Currently every passenger at the airport must pay several RM as subsidy to the ERL. So the company is not solely based on selling ticket prices alone. They should reduce the non express train ticket which stops at bandar tasik selatan and putrajaya by 50% snd use normspal commuter trains for that service.
They should make the express train just slightly more expensive than LRT but not stupidly expensive whereby taking a grab or driving would be almost the same price but more comfort.
I won't say its ridiculously expensive as there is comfort, speed, and punctuality. Targeting tourists rather than commuters, it is the best way to avoid traffic jams. It's more expensive than grab but no one wants to get stuck in traffic and miss their flight. I would say comparable standards and pricing to the rest of the world.
Let's wait for the completion of MRT 2 linking KL to Putrajaya. Keep in mind that KLIA Transit trains between Putrajaya and KLIA is considered quite cheap compared to KLIA Transit between KL Sentral to KLIA.
Yes, it’s ridiculously the most expensive in the region at least. Price of one way trip of KLIA express from KL Sentral to KLIA 1 or 2 is about 6 -7 one way trips from Tuas Link to Changi Airport. Think about that for a second. Furthermore, it’s cheaper to drive from anywhere around greater Klang Valley to KLIA 1 or 2 including toll charges. That’s even more maddening.

The KLIA Express and Transit almost behave similarally to the Hong MTR Tung Chung Line and Airport Express as they share tracks

If only ERL owns KTM in Klang Valley, more people would take trains over driving.
Even KTM got slashed🤣Your not wrong though
If cheap the train will be crowded. Taxi and grab no passenger. Tak boleh cari makan la
Mahal tak masuk akal. Kalau nak flex, buat building cantik2 bukan public services mahal2.
Expensive more than Thai Standard? HAHAHAHAHA
Have you ever come to BKK before?
Only 100 thb Not expensive than Thai’s income la
Eh, Thai tourist country one, who said locals will use the system? 😅
Coba pake bahasa Malaysia yg benar. Saya jadi tahu ngomong apa ..
