We were in KL in 2010 and remember the tokens very well. So glad they introduced the card system. We moved to Jakarta a few years ago, and will be travelling to KL for work training soon. Your detailed explanation of the train system was easy to follow and is much appreciated. Terima kasih banyak, Mas Malik🙏🏼
One thing I wish the MRT designed is dual-transfer stations like Singapore/hong-kong, they could've used the Conlay station with a cross platform transfer design like TRX but going in opposite directions, for example; On a TRX train platform, both train goes the same direction. On conlay station the train goes opposite direction, so you don't have to climb the escalator if you want to go to putrajaya instead of K-damansara. Add more announcements and guide signs on the train like in Singapore so people know where to go. For example; "For service to bukit Bintang, please transfer to platform 4, for service to maluri, please transfer at Conlay station" That's why hong Kong and singapore are the pioneers of the MRT system.
Thanks a lot for this insightful feedback 😊👍🏼 Yes, the announcements could be a great addition in order to help passengers get to the right platform with ease 👍🏼 Thanks for watching and for your valuable feedback 🌟

This a very good over view of how to go from station to station. When you want to go somewhere new how do you pick the start and end station. As a newbie i struggle with figuring out which stations to use. For example i wanted to get to IKEA and it took half an hour to figure which starting and ending station to use. Google maps sometimes picks dumb stations. The system maps i can find are abstractions. A real station map overlaying the actual city map with at least major roads and other references is an example of what might help.
I’m glad this video could help, with all these new train lines KL City is more accessible then ever, it’ll just take some time until new maps are installed and google maps would catch up too 😊👍🏼 All the best with all your time in Malaysia 🇲🇾💫
Instead of Google Map, try the alternative, such as apps Moovit. I don’t know how accurate the app is, but it seems another option to look into when figuring out. Yes, google maps do tend to suggest stupid stations, but it does give you a general idea of the route to take from your place and total time it takes I.e walk 10 mins, take the MRT, change to LRT, then walk again. Knowing the short cut/pedestrian walk) helps a lot. My daughter ended up a bit lost when my husband advised her what station to take etc.. Her friends then suggested a different station because they knew of a short cut/less distance walk to where she wanted to go. I simply summarised the incident as my husband’s map is still in 3 GPS mode (old school) while the Gen Z are already using GNSS 7 satellites.. 😂 My husband needs to upgrade.

Thank you so much for your great feedback 🌟 1. You can reload the card at All the train stations counters, sometimes they are offline but usually it’s all good. 2. Thanks for watching 🌟 All the new train stations are wheelchair accessible, with elevators 🛗 Actually all the train stations are designed to be wheelchair accessible, however sometimes some of the old train stations elevators may not be working/under renovation, so it’s always better to double check before leaving the platform 👍🏼 MRT lines are the newest train lines so they are fully functioning 🚆👍🏼 Have a great time in beautiful Malaysia 🇲🇾✨
Terima kasih. I am planning to travel to KL and was a bit confused with routes and all while researching places. But you made a very detailed video, reassuring us all the while. I have two questions: 1. Is the rapid KL card refundable? 2. How to book tickets from Kuala Lumpur to Penang ETS (if i am not wrong) online in advance?
Thank you so much for your beautiful feedback 🌟 1. Touch 'n Go card is Not Refundable. 2. online.ktmb.com.my/ This is the KTM official website and you can check the schedule and buy the tickets online. Thank you 😊
- buy the card & buy 1 day or 3 days unlimited ride pass - kl transit will stop at stations between kl sentral & klia. KL express go directly to klia/kl sentral (early booking will be cheaper) - ETS also available at kl sentral (including food court) ask information counter - lockers are available at at kl sentral & nu mall (ground floor). Ask information counter -most trains/platforms named after the last station of each line -for ktmb please get the schedule (working days/weekend) at the counter or online -ktmb trains also have dedicated women coaches seats -just buy the token to the station you want, it'll include the cost for both lines. So don't need to exit/pay at the interchange station (not sure for monorail line) but you can walk a few minutes from monorail stations also to lrt/mrt/ktmb stations -if the train too crowded & u can't see the information boards, just turn on your phone map (not work for underground train) -for 1st timer at masjid jamek lrt station, please ask information counter to go another station -the app can tracking bus location online For those who want to tour the Greater KL from above without hassle, cozy & low cost, it's recommended to take those trains because most of the tracks are lifted except ktmb
Do you top up the card at the info booths? Can you top up anywhere else? Also, I'd heard of the Touch 'N Go card but not the MyRapid card. Am I correct that the MyRapid is only for use on the trains and the Touch 'N Go is for the trains and other purchases? Are there benefits to using the MyRapid instead of the Touch 'N Go? Thanks for the great video. It was very useful.
You're welcome 🤗 1. Yes, you can top-up this card at the Information booths, Auto-Machines (Self service) on some LRT stations, Highways, Touch ‘n Go SPOT at Petrol Stations, some convenient stores (MyNews etc) and many other ways. 2. MyRapid is a Touch 'n Go card, they have many versions of (Many different looking) Touch 'n Go cards. 3. Yes, you are right, Touch 'n Go card can be used for transport as well as many other services ( The Touch 'n Go Card may be used for toll usage at all highways in Malaysia, major public transportation services in Klang Valley and at selected retail and food outlets and theme park.) 4. They also have Touch 'n Go E-Wallet, its a digital wallet for cashless payments and online purchases, it's the most used E-Wallet in Malaysia. I hope you find this info helpful and please feel free to comment for any other questions you have about KL 🤗 Thanks for your kind feedback 🌟
Also the wallet can be linked to the card. They'll deduct credit in the wallet (make sure the credit amount is sufficient) when you scan the card at toll gate. But only for certain highways. The card can be used for parking payments with certain minimum credit amount in it.
just as an FYI, you can also use your Touch n Go cards on all rapid and KTM transits, aswell as your credit/debit card too i think. However for the KLIA (ERL) trains you MUST use tickets
Thanks for this valuable information 😊💫 Sometimes Credit/Debit cards don’t work at some stations so it’s better to have a Touch’n Go card 👍🏼 And it’s also works on KLIA Express/Transit Trains if you have enough money in it, I checked with the information counter, thank you! 😊
Hello, Great video ! Few questions: 1) Instead use the KLTrain card ... Can I use my Debit Card to go throught until the train plataform ? 2) Do the train lines cover all the majority of Turistic areas ? The last but not least...Do you know a SIM CARD/carrier that can be used in Malasya and Singapore ? Thank you so much for your help. Take care and keep the good job !
Thank you for your great feedback 🤗 1. Debit/Credit card cannot be used at the train stations directly to ride the trains, hopefully soon they'll install that system as well. 2. In Kuala Lumpur City Centre, all the major city attractions, can be visit by trains, here's a full video of how to go to the major attractions using different train lines. th-cam.com/video/E1kSJb2BsPQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=sT3fKLnRl-4kd4BI 3. There's no sim card for both countries, however, both countries mobile networks offer really good roaming rates for the other side 👍🏼 Thank you for your support and I wish you a great time in beautiful Malaysia 🇲🇾✨
you can use debit/credit card in certain stations. I saw the scanner at the gate of my station (and it's not in the city center). they're currently running tests to let people use credit card on rapidKL buses too.
@Ruriko.Y yes, I have seen it at few stations and as you said, it’s still a test run so it’s not installed at all stations yet, so that’s why it’s NOT recommended because, if you enter the station using Debit/Credit card, you can only leave the station the same way but not all stations will allow that and that could be problematic 😊 Thanks for the valuable info 🌟
Very good video - we have been to KL many times but were always confused by the MRT/LRT system - but we always take to express train from the airport. The travel card at the beginning... can you add money to it later or do you buy another card when it runs out - or does it last 3 days unlimited travel?
Thank you for your kind feedback 🌟 Yes, (That card I bought is Touch n’Go Card) Touch n’ Go card is Reloadable and you can reload money from any Train Station (At Information Counter) also at Auto Reload Machines available only at few train station 🚉 Now they have a new Unlimited Pass for travellers, 1 day Pass RM10.00 and 3 days Pass RM25.00 (1 Card for 1 Person) That card can be used for all Rapid KL Trains and Busses 😊👍🏼 Thanks for watching 💫

Yes, all the ticket machines accept cash and also you can change your bigger bills to smaller bills at the station counter (only local currency) thanks 😊
Please don't do that, because it will jam the ticket cards and stop the exit barrier from opening. That's my past experience. but you can do it with the bus service, just ask the driver (up to 8 person) before you tap.
Not yet, as per the latest information, they are planning to upgrade the system so it’d be possible to use the Debit/Credit card directly to tap and board on train 🚉👍🏼 So far it’s Touch n’ Go Card, 1 time tokens and 1 day or 3 days unlimited rides pass 👍🏼
I think the Malaysian gov has introduced unlimited trips for foreign tourists . Its called Mycity pass for foreigners . 1 day unlimited RM 10 2 day unlimited RM 18 and 3 days unlimited RM 25 . Its a bargain if u take many trips in one day . And it covers buses also ( rapidkl )
Haha, it’s just my humble opinion, I have seen some other train systems and compare to that, Malaysian Train System is at least in the Top 10 in the world, for me 🤗 It’s clean, it’s safe, it’s cheap, its always on time so therefore I’m really happy with it 👍🏼 Thanks for watching and thanks for your great feedback, really appreciate it 🌟😊

Thanks for the informative video. Can you tell me how can I reach to airport from KL Sentral as my flight is at 8am International flight

TQ GOOD JOBS BRO.
Thanks for your encouragement 🤗
very helpful
Thank you 😊
Seeing a lot of escalator's. I am in a wheelchair, are there ample elevator 's to get me to where I can board. Are there certain cars that make getting on and off for me easier? Appreciate any input on this. Thanks 😊
Thanks for watching 🌟
All the new train stations are wheelchair accessible, with elevators 🛗
Actually all the train stations are designed to be wheelchair accessible, however sometimes some of the old train stations elevators may not be working/under renovation, so it’s always better to double check before leaving the platform 👍🏼
MRT lines are the newest train lines so they are fully functioning 🚆👍🏼
Have a great time in beautiful Malaysia 🇲🇾✨
Appreciate the info. Im subscribed 😃👍
Super helpful video. Thank you so much. However, are the touchngo card and the card you've shown here the same?
Thanks for your beautiful feedback 🤗
Yes, the card I’m using, is Touch ‘n Go card 👍🏼
I realy enjoyed your video.
Thank you so much for your kind feedback 🤗
I’m glad you enjoyed it 😊

Terima kasih. I am planning to travel to KL and was a bit confused with routes and all while researching places. But you made a very detailed video, reassuring us all the while. I have two questions:
1. Is the rapid KL card refundable?
2. How to book tickets from Kuala Lumpur to Penang ETS (if i am not wrong) online in advance?
Thank you so much for your beautiful feedback 🌟
1. Touch 'n Go card is Not Refundable.
2. online.ktmb.com.my/
This is the KTM official website and you can check the schedule and buy the tickets online.
Thank you 😊
@@BestFoodieForever Thanks a lot for info
@koushalrayi you’re welcome 🤗

Could I get tran to Butterworth from KL Sentral? Is there also a railway in KL Sentral complex or only metro/monorail ?
Yes, there’s ETS Train from KL Sentral to Butterworth, you can buy the tickets online as well, thanks 😊
- buy the card & buy 1 day or 3 days unlimited ride pass
- kl transit will stop at stations between kl sentral & klia. KL express go directly to klia/kl sentral (early booking will be cheaper)
- ETS also available at kl sentral (including food court) ask information counter
- lockers are available at at kl sentral & nu mall (ground floor). Ask information counter
-most trains/platforms named after the last station of each line
-for ktmb please get the schedule (working days/weekend) at the counter or online
-ktmb trains also have dedicated women coaches seats
-just buy the token to the station you want, it'll include the cost for both lines. So don't need to exit/pay at the interchange station (not sure for monorail line) but you can walk a few minutes from monorail stations also to lrt/mrt/ktmb stations
-if the train too crowded & u can't see the information boards, just turn on your phone map (not work for underground train)
-for 1st timer at masjid jamek lrt station, please ask information counter to go another station
-the app can tracking bus location online
For those who want to tour the Greater KL from above without hassle, cozy & low cost, it's recommended to take those trains because most of the tracks are lifted except ktmb
Thanks a lot for all this insightful information 🤗
It’s really helpful for all the new travellers in Kuala Lumpur 👍🏼🚉
And thanks for watching 😊
Do you top up the card at the info booths? Can you top up anywhere else? Also, I'd heard of the Touch 'N Go card but not the MyRapid card. Am I correct that the MyRapid is only for use on the trains and the Touch 'N Go is for the trains and other purchases? Are there benefits to using the MyRapid instead of the Touch 'N Go? Thanks for the great video. It was very useful.
You're welcome 🤗
3. Yes, you are right, Touch 'n Go card can be used for transport as well as many other services ( The Touch 'n Go Card may be used for toll usage at all highways in Malaysia, major public transportation services in Klang Valley and at selected retail and food outlets and theme
park.)
4. They also have Touch 'n Go E-Wallet, its a digital wallet for cashless payments and online purchases, it's the most used E-Wallet in Malaysia.
I hope you find this info helpful and please feel free to comment for any other questions you have about KL 🤗
Thanks for your kind feedback 🌟
Also the wallet can be linked to the card. They'll deduct credit in the wallet (make sure the credit amount is sufficient) when you scan the card at toll gate. But only for certain highways.
The card can be used for parking payments with certain minimum credit amount in it.
@imjuzsayin..5017 Thanks a lot for this insightful information 🤗
@@BestFoodieForever no worries plus you can use for rapid buses in KL & Penang too
Thank you for the info and your kindness 🤗
just as an FYI, you can also use your Touch n Go cards on all rapid and KTM transits, aswell as your credit/debit card too i think. However for the KLIA (ERL) trains you MUST use tickets
Thanks for this valuable information 😊💫
Sometimes Credit/Debit cards don’t work at some stations so it’s better to have a Touch’n Go card 👍🏼
And it’s also works on KLIA Express/Transit Trains if you have enough money in it, I checked with the information counter, thank you! 😊
Yeah and for us Malaysians, u can just use your Malaysian ID since it has Touch n Go embedded in it
Yes, that’s great and very convenient 👍🏼🌟
Thanks for your valuable input 💫
Hello,
Great video !
Few questions:
1) Instead use the KLTrain card ...
Thank you for your great feedback 🤗
1. Debit/Credit card cannot be used at the train stations directly to ride the trains, hopefully soon they'll install that system as well.
2. In Kuala Lumpur City Centre, all the major city attractions, can be visit by trains, here's a full video of how to go to the major attractions using different train lines.
th-cam.com/video/E1kSJb2BsPQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=sT3fKLnRl-4kd4BI
3. There's no sim card for both countries, however, both countries mobile networks offer really good roaming rates for the other side 👍🏼
Thank you for your support and I wish you a great time in beautiful Malaysia 🇲🇾✨
you can use debit/credit card in certain stations. I saw the scanner at the gate of my station (and it's not in the city center). they're currently running tests to let people use credit card on rapidKL buses too.
@Ruriko.Y yes, I have seen it at few stations and as you said, it’s still a test run so it’s not installed at all stations yet, so that’s why it’s NOT recommended because, if you enter the station using Debit/Credit card, you can only leave the station the same way but not all stations will allow that and that could be problematic 😊
Thanks for the valuable info 🌟
Very good video - we have been to KL many times but were always confused by the MRT/LRT system - but we always take to express train from the airport. The travel card at the beginning... can you add money to it later or do you buy another card when it runs out - or does it last 3 days unlimited travel?
Thank you for your kind feedback 🌟
Yes, (That card I bought is Touch n’Go Card) Touch n’ Go card is Reloadable and you can reload money from any Train Station (At Information Counter) also at Auto Reload Machines available only at few train station 🚉
Now they have a new Unlimited Pass for travellers, 1 day Pass RM10.00 and 3 days Pass RM25.00 (1 Card for 1 Person)
That card can be used for all Rapid KL Trains and Busses 😊👍🏼
Thanks for watching 💫

Buy Dewasa card not 1 Day Pass
Does kl metro accept cash now ?
Yes, all the ticket machines accept cash and also you can change your bigger bills to smaller bills at the station counter (only local currency) thanks 😊
We are a family of 5. Do we all need a Touch 'N Go cards to ride transit or can I get one and tap it 5 times for my whole family?
1 Touch ‘n Go Card for 1 person 👍🏼😊
Please don't do that, because it will jam the ticket cards and stop the exit barrier from opening. That's my past experience.
but you can do it with the bus service, just ask the driver (up to 8 person) before you tap.
@@suhandatankerthanks for the valuable information regarding using same card on the bus for multiple passengers 🌟👍🏼
And thanks for watching 😊
One question: Is it possible to no buy this card or a token and just use a credit card to tap in like in singapore?
Not yet, as per the latest information, they are planning to upgrade the system so it’d be possible to use the Debit/Credit card directly to tap and board on train 🚉👍🏼
So far it’s Touch n’ Go Card, 1 time tokens and 1 day or 3 days unlimited rides pass 👍🏼
@@BestFoodieForever thank you for the quick answer :). Looking forward to visit KL soon

I think the Malaysian gov has introduced unlimited trips for foreign tourists . Its called Mycity pass for foreigners .
1 day unlimited RM 10
2 day unlimited RM 18 and
3 days unlimited RM 25 .
Its a bargain if u take many trips in one day . And it covers buses also ( rapidkl )
Yes, that's correct 😊👍🏼

One of the best in world ??? That is pushing it … lots are to be desired though its improving over the years
Haha, it’s just my humble opinion, I have seen some other train systems and compare to that, Malaysian Train System is at least in the Top 10 in the world, for me 🤗
It’s clean, it’s safe, it’s cheap, its always on time so therefore I’m really happy with it 👍🏼
