This is really good information, Hayden. Thanks for posting it! You're providing a great service to the earth building community. I live in the US so I'm tied to the imperial system, but I agree the metric system is so much easier. I may just buy a metric architectural scale and start using it to make drawings.
Aha! My plan worked! Converting imperialists to the wonders of metric! Na it’s all good, I just have no idea how to do it! Thanks for those wonderful words of encouragement, I really appreciate it :)
I've been studying alternate and natural building methods like rammed earth, bamboo, superadobe, and more. This is the best presented information I've found yet. Can't wait for more! Thank you!
Thanks so much :) Yeah I’m keen to get into the on-site stuff as well, there’s a lot to cover theoretically first though as you can see. But a few episodes in I think we’ll be much more on-site based. Thanks for tuning in!
Grew up "imperial" reluctantly :D I have a metric tape measure and ruler and am trying to convert to the saner side. So wish I had more time on this beautiful world - ahh, the interconnected dome structures I would build on my five acres would be such an awesome adventure.
Haha I won’t hold it against you :) It was actually really good for me to go overseas and learn and teach in the imperial. Still doesn’t make sense, but it’s good for me to know! And I’ll share more balanced info in the future, it was just too much to try and cover both in this instance, as I have no experience with it in this realm at all. Thanks for watching and commenting :)
Will you cover which rows/rings you stabilize, and which you don't? I've seen you use straight gravel for foundation rows, and I think you stabilize only for the top of window and door arches (eye brows), and all rows when the rows start to move in to form the top dome layers? Thank you for sharing this valuable information freely!
Hello! Thank you so much for those wonderful words, I really appreciate it! I certainly shall be covering stabilized and everything about it. Beginning in the next episode actually! Covering soils and how they work with earthbags. Thanks so much for tuning in, there is just so much more to come!
Loved the simple explanation. Every middle and high school math teacher should watch this!❤
Wow, thank you! Thats a huge compliment! Thanks so much!
Very informative and such a handsome looking brother thanks for sharing Hayden 😊
