Watch the vid again. It’s price increases at a bad time for Americans in our time of need. It’s taking advantage of people that got kicked in the balls.
Did homeowners have insurance coverage? Wouldn’t their coverage include rental while the home is built? Is like a vehicle, if you are involved in a vehicle accident, the insurance co pays for a rental till your vehicle is fixed or you get a new one. If you have homeowners insurance, it covers Fire and Water damage. Insurance companies are going to increase the premiums or drop you for good but you will get your home fixed. Although it’s getting harder to get coverage in sanctuary California, insurance companies no longer writing policies and leaving for good, just as businesses, all the result of mismanagement by DEMORAT politicians

You can avoid price gouging but there's only so many places to rent so the same number of people will without a home. This does prevent the people who do get the place from being taken to the cleaners but many won't report it and are glad to have a place at any price. Maybe you should just take the apartment and then report to police you're being gouged as a strategy to secure a place.
It's called free-market capitalism. HIGH demand + LOW supply = Price INCREASE
Housing providers are raising rents because their costs have increased, primarily due to higher insurance premiums from covering fire victim claims.
Property taxes have also soared despite the fires.
Blame your local governments.
Well landlords are worried that people will stop paying rent after the first month and refuse to move out! It will take almost two years to vacate them. Who helps the landlords when that happens?
Nothing to do with increasing rents by 300% during time of crisis.
@ again who helps the landlords? You chip in?
what the hell is considered price gouging anyways?
Watch the vid again. It’s price increases at a bad time for Americans in our time of need. It’s taking advantage of people that got kicked in the balls.
You don't know ? Smh
I'd say buy a small RV, park it on your lot with the burned out home. get gym memberships or something so you can shower. save your money till things settle down
Wait, I don't understand. I am sorry for the victims of the fires, but how is rent prices going up a crime? So it is not okay for people to raise their prices, but it is okay for insurance companies to raise their prices. I don't understand the logic here.
Delay deny depose them all !
well i know it’s not fair but on the other hand it is supply and demand game isn’t the whole country running on that same platform? them people should think- about move out of there to other states if they want lower living prices
They need to be on this raising rent
County officials get wage increases above what others get. That's gouging too.
Law of supply and demand. Move to another area where rent and housing is affordable.
Our new D A don’t f around. Beautiful.
Happened in Maui.
Sorry, it's their property.
Zero trust society.
Utterly nuts! people regular people do not have that kind of money! they are lucky if they have even bring home 3000 a month tops.
The government needs to lower down the rents in apartments and houses , they need to lower down the rents prices in Los Angeles and San Diego and national world wide that why there’s so many people in shelters and living on the and especially what’s going on in our world fires going on nationwide and destroying homes and communities
unfortunately, people would start screaming "socialism!"
taking advantage or supply and demand? or both?
What city is probably going to have todo let these people buy motor homes and have then sit in front of there house cheaper than Renting
I think if its your land u can do whatever you want.. its up to them to rent or not
Get out of California
Hoping employers & coworkers can assist w finding new housing. Everybody knows somebody...
Don’t fall for the prices
What happened to free-market capitalism?
Free market economy, people can charge what they want, don’t like it? You don’t have to live there.
So now, SOCIALISM is OK.
HYPOCRITES.
