I’d never heard of this before , I’m so blessed to have found your site. I will pray for all you canons, and your nuns for strength and faithfulness in your walk with The Trinity.
Very informative! ✝️I love the fact there’s a 2 year candidate formation before the entering of the seminary that allows the teaching of Latin and French to become more of a versatile and bilingual skill which would be essential as a potential future Priest.
@mentalwarfare9040 I belong to an oratory run by the ICKSP, how do you know this? Have you done a questionnaire or study with the FSSP regarding this? This sounds doubtful
@mentalwarfare9040 It happened with a few of our candidates as well but they don't stay for a week, it's a year long discernment, but they are free to leave at any time. Some went on after their year of discernment, others haven't. The French may have been one of the factors. I apologize for my forwardedness in doubting your statement. But a week is all your friends lasted? That's not long at all. Dominus Vobiscum 🙏
@mentalwarfare9040 Yes, I was unaware, too bad they didn't give it a chance. The Apostolate is beautiful, lofty and their offering of the liturgy is bar none. But I understand though, it's a huge undertaking and commitment.
@mentalwarfare9040 I'd like to think of it simply as the oblates run the whole physical operations of the oratory and the Canons run the spiritual aspect. It's paramount they work together synergically or else it won't flourish. Make no doubt about it, the oblates are very well formed as well and spend years in formation themselves.
The question would be better put: " *Are* you Canons", not "Why are you *called* Canons". It also *happens* to enable quite a few ceremonial peculiarities that don't apply to "simple" priests...
OK Fr. Luke Zignego. May God bless you and all your brother priests🙏

I’m in Louisiana hope I can meet one of you sometime.
Canon Zignego is freakin cool
Yes, he is. Very alpha-male, which we need our priests to be.
I never knew
Thank you
thank you for your content!
Do you need to know French well. If you don't have the faculty of language is there any way to make it?
