I can’t tell you how much I cried after this homily! My name is Jimmy and I’m a 17 year old boy who will be applying for seminary. I haven’t really been able to put my finger on how I knew that I was called to the priesthood exactly, I just knew it. I have been raised by parents who uphold the Truth and the Priesthood. What a gift!!! I have also been given a parish priest, who has perfectly exemplified the priest spoken of around 6:40. He is verbally abused by the parishioners for all that he does wrong and takes all these insults with loving endurance. That is why I want to be a priest. Because I saw weekly (if not more) what it means to be a priest. I saw a man truly living in Persona Christi!
You are very very young. Be absolutely sure that you are willing to be celibate your ENTIRE LIFE before going to Seminary. The great crisis in the Catholic Church now is due to priests who could not remain celibate for long. They engage in homosexual relationships while in the seminary and the priesthood. So if you are gay and seek to escape the world by joining the priesthood, don't. The priesthood is never an escape from the harshness of the world. It is instead a calling to surrender and service. Millions of Catholics are leaving the Church due to the sex scandals of priests breaking their vows. So be sure you know what you are doing. Being 17 is terribly young to be making such a decision. You never want to fall in love, get married and have children of your own? You want to live your entire life just in the company of other men? You really do not ever want to be loved by one special person and to love that person in return within marriage? Be totally sure of this, since many priests say they are ready for this but then break their vows. This betrayal of their celibacy vows is destroying the Church right now. Give yourself time to confirm a calling. Sometimes we think we want something for subconscious reasons and then regret when we get that goal. So please be truly sure and know that if you go to the seminary and it does not seem right, you can leave with no shame. I am not being negative. I am being realistic. This is a life long drastic decision. Take your time. God is patient and calls men to many roles.
@@ArizonaWillful hey, being in a sexual relationship is not all it's cracked up to be. I appreciate you taking out your frustrations on this young man, but our faith clearly teaches that there's more than one way to be pure and to love God.
@@F3z07 What? My comment to the 17 year old boy was totally sincere. There was no frustration involved and I cannot see where you would get such a goofy idea. I wanted him to know that 17 is very young to be making life decisions that are very hard to undo. In fact, according to the Catholic Catechism. a mark is made on the soul of anyone who takes vows to become a priest. Even if the priest decides to leave or is kicked out (which rarely happens), that mark remains. He needs to know what is going on and that if he is gay and seeing the Church as a refuge from the harsh world, he is mistaken in doing so. You cannot join the Priesthood to escape the world. How you turned my comments against me is truly inexplicable to me. If the kid was my grandson, I would say the exact same things to him. I have been happily married 42 years and am not in any sense frustrated except by how dumb a lot of the Catholic commentors are on these videos. Next I expect them to proclaim that the Earth is flat and that the sky is blue because there is water up there making it blue. Sometimes it leaks and we call it rain. Clouds are made up of old mashed potatoes that float up into the sky if left on the dinner table too long. Duh.
Thank you Father. I remember your Penanceware in my rosary every morning because I hope to listen to your videos every day. You are very much appreciated.
All the theory is beautiful, as the scriptures put it Jesus will come to judge his church. I lived in several European countries and the way the priests let the homes of God be disrespected makes me sic to my stomach. There is no salvation outside of church I will be comdenm but as a Muslim put it in a debate about the deity of our lord Jesus he did make the point that if he believed that the consacred host was the real body of Jesus our lord he had to enter the church crawling on the floor. And I see people coming out of confession casualy responding on the cell phone in front of the tabernacle. Tourists enter without revence, even have seen in the monastery of Alcobaça in Portugal people smoking cigars in a used church. I belive deeply in the dogmatic thurths of the Holly church
There’s also another type of Priest who flagrantly ignore the decrees of the Second Vatican Council, a Council in which there were 2600 bishops from across the world and two Popes in attendance and led the church under the guidance of the Holy Spirit into a new age with fundamental teachings contained in all its documents including liturgical changes to the celebration of Mass. this document clearly states that the Priest is to celebrate the Mass in the vernacular, the language of the people, facing the congregation. The congregation are encouraged to participate in the responses and in the singing collectively of hymns. Thank God we have now got a Pope that once again will restore order and obedience in the church and especially amongst the priests to conform to the will of this great Council.
@@davidkiernan9094 out of the question. Common sense, Holding mass in the vernacular is clearly understood by locals. I would not sttend a mass in Latin because I did not acquire the Latin language.

Does it clearly state that it HAS to be said in the vernacular?
I don't think it does. I'm open to be corrected.
What document?
Freemasonry????

Attending Mads fulfills your Sunday obligation.
You don't need to understand every word for it to count
What ridiculous nonsense
Compelling argument
