"Apollo" is a ‘Beginner Safe’ and reliable Large Pony Gelding

He is extremely laid back and easy going, not the spooky type and more woah than go.

Chestnut, blaze, one sock and has a full tail.
Professional Training:
Apollo has been in professional consistent work by an International rider and by a Novice Advanced Rider for 5 months 4-5 days a week plus lessons once a week. He has quiet steady gates at the W/T/C and over fences. He has jumped courses up to 2’3 with fillers (Gates, flowers, boxes, oxers corner fences etc…) and a single fence under saddle at 2’9. He gets his leads and is just starting to learn flying changes. 90% of the time in a course he can pick up his leads by himself over fences.
- He has done lower level dressage test’s quietly with smooth transitions and has balanced and constant flowing gates. Apollo is very excepting of contact in the bridal and he generally holds himself in a bit of a frame or will go long and low. He will stand quietly for a halt and salute on center line. He has very smooth relaxed and balanced gates for a pony making easy for a young or older beginner rider to learn to post and sit trot on or canter on. (Smoother than some of our quarter horses!) He is happy to be in the ring by himself with no sillies, just simply does his job.
- He has done some Prince Philip Games (P.P.G) type games here at DenMar Farms and does not spook or tack off etc... a group of horses can be getting reeved up and he will just stand quietly beside them. Apollo has been vaulted on both sunning and scissor vaults. He will canter quietly from a halt, do his game and come back and stand like a saint for his next turn and go to sleep waiting in line.
-He has been on trail rides w/t/c and is happy go lucky like usual in the indoor. He will lead or follow behind a group. He will go out alone or in a group on trails. He has been ridden in the indoor doing flatting (practicing hunter type classes) with up to 11 other horses (with all levels of riders) in the ring and w/t/c quietly around as if he were by himself.
Shots / Vet care:
-Apollo is currently up to date. He ‘just’ had his teeth floated.
Farrier:
-Apollo is up to date with the farrier. He is barefoot currently and stands quietly to be done.
Personality:
-Apollo is very easy to catch and actually will 90% of the time whinny at you when you call him and walk over to you (very cute little man). He is very respectful over whoever is leading him around the barn. He does like cookies, but is NOT the nippy or in your face type of pony, but very respectful. No spook, bites, kick or bolt. He is very sweet… I cannot express how sweet and quiet he is. The only way to describe this pony is that he is truly Genuine and soft.
Other Info:
-Apollo is currently blanked and does stay in a stall on ‘very’ cold/rainy days. He is fine with dogs and cattle. He currently lives in a mixed Pony type heard of 5 including himself. He is not bossy, but rather goes with the flow.
-This pony has the mind and temperament of a 20 something old school horse, but the love me up personality of a yearling. This is the ultimate pony and if we needed another large pony in the barn Apollo would not be leaving.
