Especially with it being long term I would have thought. I have a couple of friends that are twins I could see them pulling it off for long enough to play a prank or something if they set their mind to it. But even as twins they have still lived different lives and they have identifiable quirks of personality, idiolect, etc they have picked up on that stand out as someone that knows them if anything probably more so because of their similarities. If anything seeing one trying to imitate the quirks of the other when it is clear from context that they are doing an impression of their sister it still gives off an uncanny vibe. So I think seeing the inevitable slip ups where it would come across like they were doing that out of context would get real creepy in a hurry. Probably would slide a few times but I don't see them managing much more than maybe an hour if they were really good at acting before it would be like "Ok what gives why do you two keep acting like each other all of a sudden?".

Explain to Ron. No relationship is worth a lifetime of abuse from your sister. If Ron likes the changed Iris enough he'll stay and forgive you. He would understand the situation your sister put you in and hopefully if he feels as strongly as you do, recognize that it was you he loved. Which twin you are doesn't matter. If you're identical enough to trick him, then he's already attracted to your outward appearance, and if he likes the new Iris better, then clearly he just liked you better. All that said, realize that there is a very high likelihood he will just want to wash his hands of the whole mess. And that's up to him. But there are many more fish in the sea, your life wouldn't be over if you got that divorce, just altered. Whereas it would be metaphorically over if you had someone dictating your entire move by extorting you just because they're the absolute worst himan being on the planet. Thats my opinion.

It's pretty obvious what to do in this situation. Threaten the real Iris that if she doesn't pay off her own debt, you will explain to the loan sharks that they have the wrong twin. That it was Selene who was indebted to them and not you. Then continue living your life as Iris. I think I would still tell Ron the truth, though and deal with the results, whatever they may be. If he wants to break up, you deserve (and can do) better.
The solution is to never tell the truth, let Ron keep thinking the fake Iris is real and that her trifling sister is telling lies to cause trouble because she is in a desperate situation, and then they can both dismiss her. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

They win because in the end Celine didn't do anything illegal as she may have been living under a fake name but didn't use it to steal money (assuming she graduated under her own name, meaning she gave her real name to her job. Evidence being that she kept the same phone plan with her same name/ number) Iris goes to jail and gets a divorce from the guy. After trying to make it work, Celine and Guy go to marriage counseling and decided that it's all too much and break up but decide to stay friends. After a few years she finds someone else and gets engaged but Guy, realizing that she won't be an option after this point, beggs her to run away with him. She contemplates the decision but ultimately knows her fiance is a healthy choice and yells Guy she can't. He respects her choice eventually finding someone who is right for him and having a son. Meanwhile Celine gets married and has twins who are best friends all through school until the last day... And the family curse continues.

From the day they could smile, they've been smiling differently, they speak and cry differently. So if he didn't straight up notice, he'd at least notice that something was way off.

There are some identical twins that are that similar but you can typically still tell them apart if they are standing next to each other . Ron rarely sees the twins together so he probably didn't give the tiny details much thought

Like imagine you start dating someone in high school and get married. Then like a year later they tell you, “Hey so I actually switched places with my twin. I just liked you so much, I couldn’t take it if my sister divorced you. That would be a waste. I remembered every little detail about you. You love me more than her, right?” Like I’d be convinced that girl was gearing up to wear my skin.

Idk why this is even a dilemma. Get Ron & the sister in the same room, tell him everything (including your feelings toward him), say "see yaaa" while walking out the door, let the chips fall where they may.
It's pretty obvious what to do in this situation. Threaten the real Iris that if she doesn't pay off her own debt, you will explain to the loan sharks that they have the wrong twin. That it was Selene who was indebted to them and not you. Then continue living your life as Iris. I think I would still tell Ron the truth, though and deal with the results, whatever they may be. If he wants to break up, you deserve (and can do) better.

Here's an ending for you. Celine tells the guy (can't remember his name) the whole thing, and with him surving as an alibi they take Iris to court for slander and blackmail. They win because in the end Celine didn't do anything illegal as she may have been living under a fake name but didn't use it to steal money (assuming she graduated under her own name, meaning she gave her real name to her job. Evidence being that she kept the same phone plan with her same name/ number) Iris goes to jail and gets a divorce from the guy. After trying to make it work, Celine and Guy go to marriage counseling and decided that it's all too much and break up but decide to stay friends. After a few years she finds someone else and gets engaged but Guy, realizing that she won't be an option after this point, beggs her to run away with him. She contemplates the decision but ultimately knows her fiance is a healthy choice and yells Guy she can't. He respects her choice eventually finding someone who is right for him and having a son. Meanwhile Celine gets married and has twins who are best friends all through school until the last day... And the family curse continues.

Joinen is right. There are ways to tell. At the vert least he'd look at her face and not know why it looks weird. But more than that my twins have had different mannerisms. From the day they could smile, they've been smiling differently, they speak and cry differently. So if he didn't straight up notice, he'd at least notice that something was way off.

If they were so identical that even parents could not tell them apart than I would say - do not switch back, tell Ron that Seline is crazy and think the switch happened. Most countries would not have any means to determine which of them is Seline. Only word against word in court. The Only way to tell them apart would be if they had taken finger prints before switch.
