Thanks so much for doing this video. I just got back from West Hollywood to Australia, Night At The Roxbury is one of my fav silly movies and I didn't realise I was walking right past where this was filmed! Blows my mind, I even stopped to look at the the building, which was used for the inside/out Nightclub. Insane! 😂😂
9:04 Let's all take a moment and show respect to Dan Hedaya. Versatile enough to be Steve and Doug's dad, prior to that Cher's dad in Clueless, prior to that Nick Tortelli and, most iconic as General Arius who orchestrated the kidnapping of one Jenny Matrix, incurring the wrath of Mr Schwarzenegger himself. Great, great actor!!!!
Awsome video very detailed. Yes this movie isn't an 80s movie but it appeals to us people between 35 and 65 don't limit yourself to only covering things that happened in the 80s just saying.
Night at the Roxbury is one of my favorites. My friend Diana and me would constantly do the scene of the money. Where they are trying to get into the club and offer the bouncer at the door a dollar bill saying " George Washington and we must not forget our boy Abraham Lincoln who is feeling a little lonely"....LMAO!!!! I can watch that movie over and over and never get tired of it.😂😂😂😂
I love this movie. When you showed The Roxy, it reminded me when I went there one time. I actually took an ash tray from there (shhh) that said Roxy and I still have it. Those were good times.
Yeah again I enjoyed that very much! Followed you from place to place on Maps! I've gotten to know LA even though I've never seen it with your great videos! A Night at the Roxbury was a better skit than it was a movie, but again, that was a fantastic tour!
Small world. I’ve basically visited & driven so my times by most of those spots. Great video. Now I have to go & watch the movie again, forgot how funny it is. Luckily still have the dvd 😅 a total classic 🪩🕺🏻
I was born in Van Nuys (1970) and worked as a bouncer at a few L.A. Nightclubs from 88-93 (had a fake ID) I worked Florentine Gardens Hollywood, Shark Club, Bar One, Vertigo, and Roxbury from 91 to June 93. I am guessing the reason they did not use the Real Roxbury was due to $. When I was there a couple of other movies wanted to shoot there and the owners charged a very high fee for 2 reasons 1. Loss of club revenue for the nights/days they wanted to shoot. 2. The name, The Roxbury was easily in the top 5 of L.A. night clubs from 85-95. If you wanted to see A & B list stars, hang with Trend setters of the day and be over charged for everything then Bar-One, Roxbury, Blk & Blu, World (in Beverly Hill Shopping Center), Palladium where your best bets. You also had places in Santa Monica, BH, and Westwood but that was mostly Whites with few token Blacks Asians & Hispanics. If you wanted to dive into Ethnic places you went KoreaTown or Little Tokyo for Asian. Crenshaw or Watts for Black and El Monte, East L.A. or Montebello for Latin.
The Roxbury has a lot of cool history. It started out as the Players Club in the 1940s and was a hot spot for celebrities. Then it fell out of favor and changed names. In the 1970 it became cool again. Then it became The Roxbury in the '80s. By the time I was clubbing on Sunset it was Miagis., which was an Asian themed club with a sushi bar.
I had never heard of this film but still always enjoy the "then and now" even without knowing the film. Often a tad depressing when locations change for the worse. From the head-nodding clips in the car I'm getting a Wayne's World influence If anyone is reading this and like me is STILL waiting for the full POINT BREAK locations then thumb me and perhaps 80s Life will notice. Peace Out
I'll have to revisit Night at the Roxbury. Don't remember much of it because I only saw it once when it hit theaters in 1998. The soundtrack to it is awesome and the one part that I remember from the movie is when Chris Kattans character is asleep and Will Ferrell takes a Twizzler and pulls off one of his gross but funny and sometimes not funny comedic acts and puts it slightly up his nose to wake him up and then takes a bite of it. I don't think I've eaten Twizzlers since the time I saw that and I may never again. All in all I remember it being a very fun movie and it was a good time at the theater.
With a name like that you would expect it from the 80s but it was released in 1990, evidently. Never saw it myself, but the name is synonymous like the Griswalds and McCalisters or John Rambo are with the 80s. Adding it to my Plex server now, lol. The beauty of instant gratification. It would otherwise be a distant memory as soon as another movie or interest popped in my head in the 90s.
When I was a freshman in high school, the older kids from sports teams liked to get together to watch the movies with snl actors like Night At The Roxbury and Superstar, and the movies were funny enough, but I was just trying to laugh when everybody else was. Eventually, when I was a junior or senior, I tried smoking weed and I was talking about it during lunchtime in line at Taco Bell and I said finally, Saturday Night Live is funny and some cool guy from school in line too overheard and he laughed
I’m shooting a series dedicated to Paul Schrader’s LA in film and recreating shots on location and posting BTS vids here. I’d love to include my fav creator here!
Even the businesses was better back then I got to say today just really sucks technology has ruined our culture. Our future looks really grim long live the 80's and 90's
I enjoy your video's an watched the one on national lampoon's vacation so I hope you get paid for to do this for nothing sometimes is just not right brother. full stream a head !!!
I was like, "Emilio."
I'm so glad I found you. Karate kid video is when I found you
Thank you for making this video to one of my favourite comedy films of all time. 🎬 👍
The day you stop making film location vids is the day I’ll be quite sad. You’re amazing.
Thank you for this video! I have LOVED this film since it came out.
Thank's 80's guy for doing this classic film, the soundtrack is the best of the music of the 90's dance music!!!score
I remember going to the theatre to see this movie in 1998. It’s hard to believe that was 25 years ago

Thank you for the video! It's awesome with details of locations! 👍👍 Great job!
I love this movie. When you showed The Roxy, it reminded me when I went there one time. I actually took an ash tray from there (shhh) that said Roxy and I still have it. Those were good times.
Great work man, love the location vids, I'm doing a road trip this fall with my buddy to visit some T2 locations with the help of your work 💪💪💪💪

Classic and a funny movie
This was fun. I appreciate all the work you put into it. Great job
I'm not watching any more of your videos until you do the hidden 80's gem "The Sure Thing" filming locations.
Awesome as always, Kurt! Another movie location that would be fun would be The Brady Bunch Movie. I believe all of it was filmed in the Valley.

Vertigo in DTLA I went there in the 2000s. I think it closed down
I would honestly love to book you to show me around LA when I visit from Scotland next year....you know your 80s stuff which I love 😊😊
Was Billboard Live the Key Club at the time of filming? Then I believe it turned into Sky Bar. Not sure but thats always where I thought it was shot.
It was Billboard live and then The Keyclub shortly after, and now it's 1 Oak. Skaybar is a few miles east.

The exteriors of Zadir's club is Mutato Studios which is owned by Mark Mothersbaugh from DEVO
Yes. Absolutely correct. Thank you for watching
Thank you so much for making this video! I’ve been hoping for years that someone would find their locations. You’re the best!
a night at the Roxbury is one of my favorite movies , it's takes you back to those clubbing days. Lol brother

I remember the Pink Taco site as that’s where Johnny Dramas 5Towns billboard was when he was taking photos in front of it.
Looooved this episode, one of my favorite movies ever!!!!
I love this movie thank you for showing the filming locations. Much love from Canada brother
The last building at the end in green is mutato muzika. Its Mark Mothersbaugh of devo production company. I recognized it right away.
Awesome job on all of your videos!
I really enjoy your content! It's RAD! 📺
The Mayan theater was the exterior for the rockatorium in rock n roll high school, the interior was the Roxy, except backstage was the whiskey
25 years ago. Wow!
The movie is a classic. Your video are classic too! Thx bro

should start doing 90's movies now. Only so much 80's movies to cover.
He's been overlapping the two generations for a while now. 80's had a lot of movies. I doubt you could run out in one's lifetime.
My reaction to this comment is the same one from your default picture
@@MisterMister5893 In Los Angeles you can. Sure thousands of 80’s movies were made but world wide.
Fun vid!
How about the most 80's movie ever:
The adventures of Ford Fairlane

Yeah that would be a good one!! Still waiting on Prince of Darkness!
One of the best comedy movies in the 90’s. A sequel should be made with the original cast.
I disagree! Writing, directing and producing suck these days!!! Leave it be!

Love it
No mention that Billboard Live is the location of Gazzari’s? One of the main rock clubs of the 80s?
Tower records back in business only online
Later Greico!!!
good history all love
Damn I’m in all those neighborhoods every week and i had no idea
I used to like that skit on SNL in the 90s. They would have host join them and hang out at nightclubs.
You sound like norman MacDonald also i loved this movie when i was little
Love the bones brigade hat
"What is love? Baby dont hurt me..."
I broke the window again.
Oh man dad's gonna be pissed.
@@clamjammer5501Don’t worry about it, I’ll just tell him you did it.
The hot police officer is Jennifer Coolidge from the American Pie movie(s) and The White Lotus (became famous again so to speak).
Yep, Stifler's mom
great video but would love to have seen the mutabi mansion (home)
have you ever seen American Gigolo from 1980 it has tons of LA area locations id love to see that.
I’m shooting a series dedicated to Paul Schrader’s LA in film and recreating shots on location and posting BTS vids here. I’d love to include my fav creator here!
I am jealous of 7-11. They are all gone in Georgia and used to be so cool when I was a kid
Did you get skybar bro

Isn't the final club Mark Mothersbaugh's building now?

Haha. Thank you for watching
at 7:45 - looks to be the same street that was in one of the recent CHiPs filming location videos.
"I broke the window again".
Do Corky Romarno!
A bit of a stretch. Almost 2000. You should change the channel to 80's and Beyond. 😉
Can you do Bill & Ted's Most Excellent Adventure? or Waynes World? Nothing but Trouble?
Love this movie! dumb yes, but still funny............
@18:53 now that I'm older I recognize that they all do really look like Barbra Streisand
Even the businesses was better back then I got to say today just really sucks technology has ruined our culture. Our future looks really grim long live the 80's and 90's
90s 2000s 2020s SHOULD NEVER EVER EXISTED and beyond 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
They couldn't get into the club but like every body in every other movie they found a parking spot right in front of it
