Great job, Kurt! I really appreciate your videos more and more. I just really want to thank you for taking the time to do this for us. Your videos have a special place in our hearts and memories. Thank you again, Kurt.
I used to love Leo’s “Film Freak” show on 97.1 KLSX FM Talk. It was a great surprise to see him. I may book a tour just to support the guy because he was always a joy to listen to on the air. God, how I miss that station & all of their on air talent.
So what was used as an external for a club in Night at the Roxbury is actually Mark Mothersbaugh's studio, they guy who did terrific soundtrack music for Last Man On Earth (among others) you might recall
You can tell that the tour guide put his heart and into this little business and teaming up with local restaurants to promote as well is awesome! ❤🙌 Amazing video sir!
OMG Rick Dees was the man on the radio back in the day. I know I’m getting old because my next sentence was , back when KIIS FM was great but life is still good even with a gray hair or two❤ love the video, this tour was great. I really enjoyed it. Need to check it out.
I love this channel!! Do you know the movie "The Heavenly Kid"? It's definitely one of my favorite films from the 80s. On the internet, there are no videos of the filming location of this movie. :(
Kurt Crucial this is awesome. So I am a SF valley guy but I love tours like this in Hollywood. Your friend knocks this outta the park. Well done Sir!!!
I learned something about the Viper Room that I found really fun and interesting, I think from this channel is that the Go-Go's shot a scene from one of their videos back in the early 80's. Loving this 80's channel.
Loved this video! I'm Shane, and I am a youtuber from Australia (Themeparks, Attractions & Events), and this is the sort of tour I'd be looking to do on our next visit. Do you know if someone does other ones that would include locations like Fast & Furious House, back to the future houses, Houses from other movies around pasadena etc, and other iconic movie locations like Terminator etc? That would be definitely something I'd love to do! Anyway, keep up the great work, love the channel! Regards,... Shane (Jaggs Journeys)
This was so awesome! The tour guide was fantastic and what a set of pipes that guy has. The creme de la creme was seeing the Ralph's where The Dude shopped. Majestic!
Conflicting Reports: The Big Lebowski's Ralph's was reportedly filmed at a South Pasadena Ralph's, not the one on Sunset. Was the guy even listening to the Dude's story?
cool stuff , great idea very well made , i didnt know the viper room still IS, i think Sean Clark said all of those iconic 80s places on the strip will be gone soon
@@80sLife......and another shout out, if ya ever do That Thing You Do, shoot me a note, I know of a location from that one, that as far as I know, has never been ID'd Not one of the main locations, a quickie... but a fun one...
Hi . I’m watching from Brisbane Queensland Australia ..I really enjoyed the video and I love Hollywood filming locations. Watching this feels like I’m on holiday. 😀😀😀 hello from Australia
Excellent tour, wish I knew about this last year when I was in L.A. I'm surprised the van didn't visit N. Orange Grove Ave and do the original Halloween houses. It's literally just off Sunset Blvd which you drive down on the way to Sunset (but you know that I'm sure).
As he mentioned, the tour was 2 hours. So a lot that wasn't shown You could easily do 3-4 hours in that area and still leave out a ton of stuff. Hopefully a PT 2....
Only a matter of time B4 Kurt & son get their stars on Hollywood Blvd. Right on that corner of Hollywood and La Brea where I believe Elvis and the Beatles are( ? !)
Oh my god I remember STUDS! When I was like 12 years old we were at Grauman's Chinese Theatre and someone came up asking if we wanted to go to a taping of STUDS and I wanted to go so bad but my Mom was like "no way" 😂
That was cool they show the parts they describe your about to see on the TV screen to get a idea of what your looking at? I feel like with all the stuff you filmed and your knowledge you too could do the same for people because you go into more details possibly because your on foot? Also would be nice if you invite followers and did the same just a idea?
You must feel incredibly lucky to have grew up in this era, in LA...i feel lucky for this era ii mean i was 9 yrs old 1980 so my whole teens were literally the 80s 😂😂
As he mentioned, the tour was 2 hours... So obviously a lot that is on the tour but not shown here. Plus, something like Columbo, unless your of that era, probably not high up the list I'd love to see it, but the people taking these tours nowadays want the latest greatest.
My rabbit hole after watching this - "According to Shirley Temple, the non-alcoholic drink bearing her name was invented at the Brown Derby in the mid-1930s. Temple herself never liked the drink and noted her personality rights had been used without permission. ...The Cobb Salad was also invented at the Brown Derby. It was named after restaurant owner, Robert Howard Cobb."
I'm sorry, but this is funny to me..They're talking the master of filming locations on a tour and probably don't even know that Kurt is the guy who found many of these lost filming locations and revealed them to the world... It's like teaching a martial arts class and Bruce walks in as a student....
Sigh... First off... The tour guide INVITED him. A lot of places do that nowadays, invite Social Media types, amusement parks, restaurants, tours etc to get some publicity And so this guy knowing about Kurt and his channel, invited him to get some exposure etc... Next, these locations aren't "lost". Every location in this video is well known. Yes, in some of his videos, Kurt might find a hard to find location.... But none of the film locations here, are "obscure" or "lost" I've done some work in locations , mostly here in Orange County, and people I come across know of these The BTTF gym, the Pretty Woman motel, Big Lebowski etc....

Right down the street from me. Thanks for the awesome video to you both!
Let’s go do this tour!
Definitely, a short version of the tour since Leo offers 2 hours tour on his website. Nice story about the "Shirley Temple's" drink.
Very entertaining...I'll have to check it out next time I'm in L.A.
Great stuff Kurt

The Key Club used to be Gazzarri’s in the 80’s. It’s where the Doors and Van Halen played before they made it big❤️
Awesome Tour!!! Much appreciated! I drive those streets all the time and had no idea of the rich history!!!!

Thank you! Gotta be honest.

Great video!! This tour looked way better then the one you did with Adam.😎
I wonder what Italian restaurant is better, Dan Tana's or Miceli's ? I've been to Tana's 4 times. Gotta try Miceli's next time 👍
