JMJ's Oxygen is so good! Great to look through your Tull collection! Songs from the wood is my favourite! Love your record collection Scot! Hope you are at the peak of wellness brother! :)🐍🕺🐍
Some excellent albums. A few others: Jellyfish Spilt Milk and Bellybutton Jesus and Mary Chain Automatic and Stoned and Dethroned Klark Kent (aka Stuart Copeland) Kollected Works (The Police record label did not want Mr Copeland releasing music under his own name, hence the pseudonym) He plays all the instruments and handles all the vocals. Great stuff! Killing Joke Brighter than a Thousand Suns and Nighttime Klaatu Sir Army Suit (a very underrated pop album)
Love all the Japan releases. Tin Drum a complete sonic masterpiece. Still marvel at Mick Karn's fretless bass work. Fantastic. Great collection of J's and K's Scot. I need more Kaipa too. 😍🎵🎵🤘
Fantastic collection Scot. Love the comments on each. I am going to have to check out Billy Joel after seeing how many LPs you have. "Everybody's got the t=shirt, nobodies got the album" LOL brilliant! I have See See The Sun but will get Starlight Dancer.
@TheProgCorner I wish I had all my original albums, but alas they are all gone. I've rebought some, Most of my collection is on CD and 100 or so on cassette. I'd love to have a brilliant collection like yours.
Jordsjø Nattfiolen is the only modern music album I keep coming back listening to without getting tired of it. The group Japan also appeared on an album by japanese artist Akiko Yano in 1982. I got all of King Crimson up until Thrak. Discovered them in early 90's. My third prog-discovery after Genesis and Yes. I think the very earliest Kraftwerk albums are very interesting. A bit in the same vein as the group Can maybe. Very experimental.
You have some great records, Scot! The Jam rules! Setting Sons in my favorite, but be on the look for the vinyl 2lp set called Snap! I do think you would enjoy the Jefferson Airplane album After Bathing At Baxters the whole way through. Has their most proggy song, Rejoyce
Yea, Joe Jackson... Jumpin' cat. Check out "Ghosty Head" by Ricky Lee Jones. Journey's first album "Look into the Future" is a gem. Fun stuff. Peace on earth..
Hmmm, I'm gonna hafta look into JPL . . . . . . 🤔 Been all up into War Child for the last few daze . . . . . . Tull is great autumn music! Jordsjo is cool too. Priest. Kaipa. Kansas. Kayak. The Mighty Crim. Kraftwerk. I think I have a Karfagen rekkid too, somewhere . . . . . . . 'n' a handful of JMJ's. Other stuff too. Lotsa Keneally! Yup.
Definitely get the later Tull albums! They're worth it. I was just listening to Catfish Rising, and there's some tasty metallic blues on there. So good! Agree about ReconstruKction of Light sounding better, particularly with the fresh new drum track in the title cut. Although - something about me sometimes still craves that muddier, duller, more brutal mix from the days when we had no choice betweeen the two versions! Kind of like being stabbed to death with a spoon!! Lol.
Nice collection there! I don't have much in my CD rack for J and K, nothing at all for K (really could use some KC if nothing else, but alas). Probably the biggest difference in terms of sorting by whether solo artists are alphabetized by first or last name though - because I go first name, I have a few Joe Satriani albums (kind of a weird set, Flying in a Blue Dream, Crystal Planet, and What Happens Next, have a few others on my phone still from my parents' collection). Plus one album each by John Petrucci (Suspended Animation) and Jordan Rudess (Rhythm of Time). Plus one lone Priest album, Firepower, though most of their others I have from my parents as well. Wouldn't mind a few of those Tull albums someday though.
Working in and managing records stores in Florida throughout the eighties, we would have some VERY intense conversations about alphabetization!!!! Those were the days…
@TheProgCorner Admittedly I think the way you do it is probably more technically correct, I just have it this way at the moment and my collection's small enough that it doesn't make a huge difference. As it grows I might reorganize some.
I have an autographed at Tower Records in the upper West side in front of me Joan Jett's titled "Album". I was to timid to speak to het as a nineteen year old.... WNEW-FM I thank for my Joe Jackson knowledge.... Tull is a must but I only have a scatter of their stuff.....they are in my top ten of bands.
Just picked up Last Autumn's Dream by Jade Warrior a few days ago (on vinyl of course). It's absolutely phenomenal. How great is Waves? Should I look for it? Good to see all the Tull. I'll have to check out JPL.
Like that first joe Jackson ,the Jane's addiction,Jefferson,Japan,Jethro tull of course,Elton John, journeys first album Great American prog,Kansas ,king crimson
Joe Jackson's Look Sharp, is, well, Sharp...great album. Most of my J-K is Jethro Tull, Billy Joel, King Crimson, and KANSAS Get Turnstiles from Billy Joel Scot, it has some great songs Sad reminder I need some Kaipa
I had to skip to the end to make sure your outro was still there... I suppose I can't complain as long as the snakes are there! I hope you'll still do the full verson for the die-hards on the Sunday live stream, at least.
@@TheProgCornerI hear that, any die hard Journey fan will tell you that Infinity is their greatest full length release and I’ve been on the hunt for that vinyl myself for so long
The irony of talking about vinyl while wearing a shirt for a band that's never pressed any vinyl... I personally am more of a CD guy, but I do have every Tull record from This Was to Rock Island on LP, including my dad's original pressing of Living in the Past from 1972.
J&K. Alright, under the letter J I've got 42 artists. Beginning with The J Geils Band In the middle there's Japan And bringing up the rear there's Judas Priest Onto K. I've got 38 artists.
