    Best instructions I've seen so far. Others leave out important things.
    I'll be doing this tomorrow. Nice job. Hopefully I can do it one handed as well lol

    The only guy on the net who thought it worth while not just telling you that the pain in the ass floor heating duct can come out but how to make it happen. Thanks for that dude. I was about to take a fret saw to it.

    By far this is the most detailed video on about replacing this unit! Thanks for sharing. I am about to do this next. I just replaced my blower fan motor but it is still not turning on. I should have replaced this FSU resistor first, I could have saved a lot of time and money. My old blower fan motor might actually still be working but unfortunately I broke the blades on the old unit.

      TheNogibear sucks that you broke the old one. Good with this project. Thank you for watching!

    Great video, only one that was exactly like my 2002 M3. The job had several sticking points; getting the rod out of the white clip was difficult, getting the duct in/out was tough, and my new FSU didn't want to go in easily. After some cursing and about 2 hours, I got it done and all is well with the blower! Referred to this video throughout the process. Thanks a ton!

    This video is awesome! I watched at least 10 different ones and this one is definitely the best. Just replaced the FSU on my '02 325ci. I couldn't get the rod out of the white clip but was able to work around it. This instructional video helped me so much! Appreciate it!

    July 2018, my blower stopped working, this video sowed how to replace resistor, under 2 hrs I had it done, 1 worklight, 3 screwdrivers, and it is done. I am a big guy, 6 ft 2 240, so it was a little tight to get in there but doable, do not disassemble glove box, just undo 6ish screws and two electric connections and then remove it, thanks for info and confidence. Blower was intermittent in operation, finally stopped working altogether....no ac repairs needed....

    Any way of testing these resistors to know for sure they have failed...?...trying to avoid shot gunning parts if I can help it. Also, if the resistor is not the issue re a "no-fan/no blower" (on a 2000 328i)... where should I look next?

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      WJK to test it you would need a voltmeter and a wiring diagram to determine which wires are leading in from the controller and out to the blower motor itself. A simple test would be to put power and ground straight to the blower motor and see if the blower motor runs. A great tool to perform that is called a power probe. This would be very difficult to explain the process of doing this.

      How to Automotive - Appreciate the reply. Working on a friend's BMW and have a fair amount of experience with automotive repairs over past 30 years. Powering up the fan/blower with a 12 volt battery connection (prior to pulling/investing in a new diode) sounds like a good place to start. Would hate to try a new diode only to find out the blowers bad. Thanks again!

    Good demo , but...…. remember to disconnect the battery first , second, once you have fitted the
    new part make sure it works before screwing everything back together , saves lots of time.
