    My sz5 allgrip is a great car and in sports mode a lot quicker then 10.2 sec to 60.Suzuki have always turned the wick up on there cars.people say the car has a lot of plastic in it, I don’t care, I brought the car, I brought it to drive not to fondle the interior.🚗🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿❄️👍

      So true that. Its the stereotypical millennial that gets fooled by all the marketing bullshit. They want everything to be fashionable, cars need soft touch interiors because they think its important. Snowflake generation.

    I've got the 1.4 turbo, it's brilliant. Fast, Comfortable on long journeys, very spacious and if driven carefully I can get the MPG into the mid 50s, especially as the engine get a few miles under the bonnet. In sport mode it becomes a bit of a Gti!

    • @Hanoitami
      @Hanoitami ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mid 50s? Man thats around 4,3 L/100km. Thats only motorway and not hilly, right?
      You must have very patient people at your place otherwise. And the car must be using summertires. Probably with a 2WD and the hybrid?
      I have a 1.4 Turbo S AWD. (2017,no hybrid)
      I can barely reach 40

    I like your video titles. Classy and understated. This car is great, ive got a Suzuki myself now, the new Swift boosterjet, solid great handling car. This Vitara would be great for anything. Excellent long term car. Hire purchase or PCP, either will do so long as you pay it off and keep it. No point trading in a car thats perfectly capable of lasting for many many years.

    Many Vitaras have the front wheels aligned with slight toe out which makes it hard to go in a straight line, especially at speed. Mine steering wheel didn't centre properly after a turn and I got an alignment done. Now it's got proper toe in, still within spec (before it was out of spec) and the steering is great even at top speed. Takes a little more effort on the wheel when parking and I guess the steering servo and tie rods will wear out a bit earlier, worth it though. If you like the Vitara, skip Allgrip (2WD off-roads fine) and the highest trim since the sun roof makes it more noisy, top-heavy and the reinforced roof on the sides eat up into rear passenger head space. Also the autonomous emergency braking has too many false positives even on the least careful setting. It only works up until 50 kph so it won't help in a country road (deer...) or motorway situation where it could save your life. It's a great car, super comfy front and rear, lots of cargo space in the back an d the doors, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard with the touch-screen. Go medium trim, pick the colour and engine you like and drive it around the world. It's refreshingly low-tech and roomy in the engine bay so maintenance is easy. If you spend 15 quid on quality earplugs for long road trips, it's the best car in the segment. Get the blue one if you want girls to talk to you, I get compliments every other week and random people checking it out on the parking lot.

    • @CarObsession
      @CarObsession  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Hamachingo, thanks for watching, and for commenting. Yes, I agree with you about the autonomous emergency braking; it's definitely too sensitive, and it's same throughout the Suzuki range. In fact, I often find myself turning the system off, which completely negates the point of having the safety system in the first place...

    • @Hamachingo
      @Hamachingo 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CarObsessionIn some markets, AEB lowers the insurance rates considerably because you're much less likely to hit a cyclist or pedestrian. People will hit you in the rear if the system slams the brake, but that's on their insurance, not yours. I got used to locking the doors and disabling start-stop whenever I start driving, pressing and holding another button would bother me. Steering being loos around centre seems to be an issue on many current Suzukis, especially Baleno and Celerio.

    1.4 sz5 allgrip auto here, no issues after one year and 10k miles. Superb little car, no fuss just goes like a rocket. MPG 38.9 mixed or about 42 with loads of motorway driving. On the inside feels like it can be cleaned with a garden hose, but don't try it. Shortcomings: engine is surprisingly loud for a small engine, seats are not exactly comfortable (no lumbar support), no seat or steering wheel heating (this is the top trim?!), camera/radar related safety features seemingly work only when they want to. Pros: a very practical car, good internal space / car dimensions ratio, reassuring safety features (when they work and not falsely warning of an imminent crash..), small enough for any city. Overall a simple but 'nice', value for money little car that no egotistical car buff would buy.

    Ah, excellent, good to see that it is just as good on the road as off it. The handling on the 2016 diesel I drove a couple of years ago was amazingly sweet, and this sounds even better if anything. I certainly agree that the soft touch dashboard is a massive improvement!

    Green Engine is not only Co2 emission but more nano particles, Nox and so on (you know, the ones that are toxics). These emission's infos are so difficults to find for the cars. Lately car constructors managed to reduce Co2 emission also by producing more nano particles for petrol engine, from what I understand, and this is a new parameter.

    A good review of the new Vitara. What did you think of the new clock on the dashboard? In your first review of the Vitara you mentioned the clock looked cheap. Were you impressed with the new clock? I have seen both and the new clock does look very premium and posh. Also between the Vitara S or the new SZ5 which one impressed you the most and recommend?

      Hello Ivan, I would need to see if I have the relevant footage to help answer that question, but I would not be able to give you an answer for 120 or 140kmh as the legal limit in the UK is 70mph, which is around 112kmh. Thanks for watching Ivan.

      I was driving 1.4 6 speed manual and I have to say that it starts to be quite revvy at moderate speeds - it definitely must have shorter gears then arona for example. More character then arona 1.5 btw

    • @michiel75
      @michiel75 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      The manual 1.4: 100km/h > 2400 rpm, 120km/h: 2870rpm and 140km/h: 3350rpm. The 5th and 6th gear on the automatic are significant longer geared: the auto 1.4: 1940rpm(100), 2325rpm (120) and 2711 rpm (140). The 1.0 manual 2650 rpm (100), 3200 rpm (120) and 3700 rpm (140). The 1.0 boosterjet runs surprisingly quiet.
      The gearbox of the 1.4 manual is very well geared for a perfect compromise in performance and economy.

    • @oddities-whatnot
      @oddities-whatnot 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Michiel M very helpful post that, thank you. The 1.4 manual in 6th at 74 mph doing less than 3000 rpm is fine. My Abarth 595 with 5 speed box could do 70 ish at less than 3000 rpm, and was fine on long journeys. I always think if you can sit at legal motorway speeds below 3k its relaxing, no matter what the car is. Anything above that (unless its a 2 or 3 cylinder) makes journeys tiring. Saying that, my 3 cylinder boosterjet Swift sits at just 2600 rpm in 5th ! The Nissan Juke 1.2 petrol is doing about 4000 rpm at 70 ! Awful.

    I confirm it is a fun car :) I am to buy small crossover and shortlisted everything to arona fr (preferably) and this little gem. Arona has better seats, gearbox, steering wheel feel. But Vitara has that hard to define something (maybe because of its low weight). Which one would You choose if You had this options? Arona 1.0/1.5 or vitara 1.4? :)

      You should definitely testdrive a Vitara with a 1.0 boosterjet as well. The 1.0 runs very quiet and is far more powerful than you would accept. On a dyno a standard 1.0 Boosterjet (in a Baleno) delivered a healthy 129 Bhp and 194 Nm of torque. Much more than Suzuki claims, and that's the explanation for the good performance of this little 3 cylinder. .
