I've never pre-ordered a locomotive in my life. I've generally waited but I'm definitly considering pre-ordering a Version with smoke defectors. I guess we will see. I'm sad I miss out on the royal Hudson 5 years ago, but I'll get one of those one day further down the line.
Also, you guys need to make both the Jubilee Class 4-4-4 and the CNs confederation class 4-8-4 Streamline class locos like 6400 in Ottawa! You guys sent it out of the park with the last Hudson release and we look to be on the right path with these ones! Please keep bringing us awesome Steam locos!!!

I’m on the ‘Wish List’ for the ‘Empress,’ but GP38’s #3084, 3069 and the F units, as well as auxiliary tenders and passenger cars are a must. After that? AC4400 flag units and lighted Holiday Trains…
I have #2816 in HO scale brass from Van Hobbies/Samhongsa. Maybe I'll get Rapido's version, too. It's GORGEOUS!!! 😎
Do you you have the early or late version from Van Hobbies?
@@andrewmorrison85 I don't believe Van Hobbies did the HO brass #2816 more than once. However, my model represents the "The Empress" before it was assigned to excursion service because my model lacks the two small headlights just above the pilot (or cow catcher). The two headlights were added before excursion service on the real thing.
Those are beautiful Hudson steamers. The sound is unbelievable. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Very attractive steam engine model, a Canadian style Hudson locomotive which is sure to draw in attention since these haven't been produced before in ho scale in non brass form.

So im sure this has been asked alot is there a plan to make other parts of 2816 excursion train? Like the 2 Auxiliary fuel tenders and the passenger cars?
No plans for the auxiliary tender, but we have several of the CP business fleet passenger cars announced.
Will you guys be making the 2816s aux tenders and coaches?
We are making the Selkirk dome, the 2 ex-CN smoothside coaches plus the ex-CN Duplex sleeper CP uses with the 2816. The aux tender isn't planned at this time however as it would need to be tooled new from the ground up.

do you guys ever plan on making CNR's Hudson? (5700 through 5704) theyre my favorite hudsons ever built and are pretty hard to find in HO scale
Not planned at this time, but there are other CN steam locomotives we are looking at!

Is the loco the one from Steamtown in Pennsylvania...and will it be avaliable in the UK ?
It was donated out of service to steamtown before the canadian pacific took it back into service for excursion work. it was retired and put in secure storage in calgary in 2012. theyve just finished a refit and refurbish on it for a international excursion from calgary alberta to mexico city to celebrate the merger/acquisition of kansas city southern. Canadian Pacific 2816 will leave calgary april 14th, exactly one year anniversary of Canadian pacific becoming canadian pacific kansas city.

I know you've nixed it, but I really think that you're missing a trick by deciding not to make the auxiliary water tender....
That would be cool to do, but including the Aux tender with each set would significantly raise the cost. Who knows, maybe one day however.
@@rapidotrains I was thinking more of an after-market sales item. But I know the cost of die-making these days to be horrendous, especially for a very 'much a one-off item like that. However, I'd like to point out that you already make the rather odd steam generator car #107128 for the GN.....you can't be selling hundred of THEM. I'm only guessing that the present popularity of 'The Empress' has helped sales of your lovely new model. Might seeing it tootling along the tracks down to Mexico and back, along with the canteen trundling behind it in most every movie on TH-cam - plus the inevitable lull-length DVD change your mind.?
