Great tutorial video, this will help a lot of people when they first get the game, they will miss the navigation if the get the base game lol, I would hate to go back to the arrows, I got lost so much
haha,..Same here, there's no way I'd like to go back to the arrows for directions which can even be confusing themselves sometimes if there are many routes crossing various junctions. Default Spandau is still actually a favourite map of mine and I think I could do it without the GPS or arrows now that I've done it that many times since owning OMSI.😄

Thank you for the comment. I'm glad it helped and hopefully others who might be new to OMSI. There aren't many English speaking OMSI players on TH-cam that go into much detail about setting up which I know I could of done with when I first started.

Best video I’ve seen on this. The game is complicated. I struggled to get the bus to move for ages. Turned out I hadn’t inverted the brake axis on the pedals so the brake was set to 100%
Interested to know how you managed to get the game running so smoothly and looking pretty tidy.
Thanks very much for the comment and support. Yes, OMSI is complicated and does have a learning curve. Even now I sometimes have to keep referring to my various text notes I make with all my DLC addons because I just forget how to drive the buses and set up the IBSI machines.
I do suffer from the usual stutters that OMSI throws at us but the default Spandau usually plays quite nice for me.
As for the graphics, I may do a quick video when I get time showing my graphic settings in the nVidia control panel.
@@Stringbean421 a graphics video would be ace. My machine is a potato but runs ETS2 very nicely. I have the wheel, pedals, farm panel and a Tobii 5 all working with omsi and Ets2. The hard bit for me is getting the route right so people get on the bus. And selling tickets in German!

That's correct, this is the map OMSI comes with and is around 1990.

Hi , thanks for the video .. was trying to set up the game last night on my gaming laptop.. for some reason it won't allow me to look around in the driver cabin for example .. I was wondering do I need a mouse? I've plugged in my xbox controller and it's just not working
if I remember correctly, you can use the left/right arrow keys on a keyboard to look left and right. Using a mouse to pan around would be better. I have no idea about xbox controller as this is geared towards a PC set up.
how do I steer the bus I tried with my mouse and keyboard and nothing works ;(
When in game, bring up the small box menu that appears in the bottom right-hand of the screen. You do this by clicking the ALT key on your keyboard. You see the option for steering wheel or mouse and keyboard. Hope this helps.

You should find the manual and all other documents in the Steam Apps folder. Default path would be
C/Program Files(x86)/Steam/Steamapps/Common/OMSI-2/docs. Assuming you installed Steam on your 'C' Drive.
i can't find route 137
How do you move the camera around?
For camera views It's F1 , for cockpit view, F2 for inside views and F3 for outside views. Then use your mouse to pan around.

Hi, the GPS Minimap is an addon DLC for OMSI available on Steam. It's called, OMNI Navigation. Or alternatively, you can purchase a different addon for OMSI called Bus Company Simulator (BCS), also available on Steam. BCS is an addon where you can run your own company and comes with the mini map. Or just use the default arrow markers in OMSI which show you where to go on your route.

Where did you get the route number from? I assumed it was from the timetable sheet but the destination came up completely different
You need to select the correct year for the route you wish to drive. You will see how I did this at the beginning of the video. Also, if you go into the games main folder, on your hard drive, you will see a folder called, 'docs'. Here you will find a PDF map, which I also show in the video, which shows the years that the route numbers are available on. There are some other PDF documents along with a manual. Hope that helps.
@@Stringbean421 I mean the other route number that selects the destination. Aftee you type in the route 137 in the machine you type another number which is 02. But I just want to know how you did that.

If you look in the PDF manual, and jump to page 72, there is a list of all the destination route codes along with the Line numbers. It's all shown in my video too how to enter them.

Click the steering column below the wheel removes it (with mouse) and clicking it puts it back

@@HalStargazer i just found out its called omni navigation. you can buy it of steam for i think 6 or 7 pounds (i said pounds bc im british)

Sorry I missed your comments guys, you know what YT is like, I don't always get notifications. But yes, you already figured out that it's OMNI Navigation. For those that don't know, the OMSI Addon, Bus Company Simulator (BCS), also comes with OMNI Navigation built into the program, often referred to as the mini-map.

You have to use the mouse to drive the bus. Push the mouse forward and your bus will move. Make sure to press 'D' for drive.
Or drive by num 8.

Sorry, I don't know why you are getting an error. If you have follwed the tutorial correctly then you should have no error. You can also go to the OMSI discussion forums on Steam and get some help from there if you need it. Thanks.

Hi,..you can find the PDFs inside a folder called, docs, which can be found inside the main OMSI folder in your Steam games Directory.
Hi, just a quick question. What are the controls for the bus to go forward (acceleration), left, right etc?
Hi,..I use a steering wheel and pedals but you can use the mouse for acceleration when moving forward and turning left and right, and even for reversing. You move the mouse on your desk forward or back. Hope that helps.

Not sure why that is happening to you as I've never come across that issue. Maybe check with someone over on the OMSI support forums on Steam.

How do u get in the bus
I think it's F1 if I remember correctly. The other F keys, like F2 and F3 are other camera views.
And you will give the link to activate the key, enter the code on Steam for OMSI 2 - Steam Edition v2.3.004
