The Natsumi Clinic in the Japanese capital Tokyo fixes about 100 stuffed toys every month. Owners who just cannot bring themselves to throw away their childhood companions turn to clinic founder Natsumi Hakozaki who is able to breathe new life into well-loved stuffed toys using needle and thread, as well as spas with a special soap. The clinic, with six “doctors” on staff, is one of only two stuffed toy repairers in Japan. Yui Kato, who recently went to the clinic with a plush sheep doll she has had for 18 years, said she paid about 100,000 yen (US$959) to fix her treasured toy, but insisted that keeping her childhood memories alive was more important than money.

This is beautiful. It touches me knowing there are people who don't see anything wrong with the fact that people have a child likeness in them and they treat it with respect. It doesn't make sense to disrespect it since we were all children once and being a child is one of those stages that shapes us as adults. Pro tip: when I went to Build-A-Bear a few years ago to build another one to celebrate something important, I bought my old Build-A-Bear,a leopard, with me. I've had him since I was 7. I ran into a salesperson he seemed genuinely excited oh, and was talking about how great it is when people bring their all stuffed animals into the store. They told me that if somebody bought their old Build-A-Bear into one of their stores, they would do cleaning and repairs for free. I'm not sure if this is still the case that you should definitely check it out.

I wasn't allowed to keep stuff animals as a child so, I don't quite understand the attachment others have with their stuffed friends. But still, seeing these wonderful people do their best caring for their "patients", well, that warms my heart.

I need to give them my stuffed puppy, Scotty. He'vw been with me ever since I was 3 years old. He lost his tail and his nose. I'm scared to fix him by myself and making the problem worse...

You do know it almost costs monthly minimum wage to fix this little doll with cotton stuffed inside of it? I'd rather buy a laptop and play video games than waste money on this circus.
