I believe OSR will definitely watch Guide one day.But Bombai ka babu or Kala Bazaar? I doubt it.

And you mentioned Bombai ka babu, it was such a daring concept for the time, the underlying suggestion of pseudo-incest, and the ending was so beautifully done. Have you seen Amitabh's Zameer? The main idea was taken from Bambai ka babu, but they played it so safe, with the lost brother (vinod khanna) of the heroine (saira banu) returning in the end and amitabh and saira getting married.

Amitabh didn't have that quiet desperation and hopelessness coupled with the desire for a second chance which Dev played to perfection either. The Amitabh-Vinod friendship song was the only thing I appreciated. But that had more to do with the actors' chemistry and belonged in some other movie.

It's so surprising, how much Madhubala, Madhuri and Kate look alike! They have completely different personalities and individual charm but similar features and facial structures.
On another note, I miss old Hindi songs where there was banter and teasing (teasing between people known to each other). I wish people didn't do cheda chadi (eve teasing or teasing unknown people) but I wish there were more new songs that incorporated ched khani (teasing known people with whom you have a certain level of familiarity and comfort). It is for the same reason I miss qawwalis in new movies too, which had some high-level banter done poetically. One of my favourites is Nigah-e-naaz ke maron ka hal kya hoga from Barsaat Ki Raat. And in my opinion Na To Karwan ki Talash Hai is the greatest qawwali ever. Sahir Ludhianvi is so amazing for having written that.

The main idea was taken from Bambai ka babu, but they played it so safe, with the lost brother (vinod khanna) of the heroine (saira banu) returning in the end and amitabh and saira getting married.
@@BubuDuduForever I've seen Zameer. They took out everything that was interesting/different in Bombai ka babu in their attempt to be politically correct and not offend the audience. Amitabh didn't have that quiet desperation and hopelessness coupled with the desire for a second chance which Dev played to perfection either. The Amitabh-Vinod friendship song was the only thing I appreciated. But that had more to do with the actors' chemistry and belonged in some other movie.

On another note, I miss old Hindi songs where there was banter and teasing (teasing between people known to each other). I wish people didn't do cheda chadi (eve teasing or teasing unknown people) but I wish there were more new songs that incorporated ched khani (teasing known people with whom you have a certain level of familiarity and comfort). It is for the same reason I miss qawwalis in new movies too, which had some high-level banter done poetically. One of my favourites is Nigah-e-naaz ke maron ka hal kya hoga from Barsaat Ki Raat. And in my opinion Na To Karwan ki Talash Hai is the greatest qawwali ever. Sahir Ludhianvi is so amazing for having written that.
I miss qawwali too. Especially the men vs women. The last qawwali I remember was Haji Ali in Sanjay Dutt's Prassthanam (2019).
