    I was a bit reluctant to buy an "off brand" toaster, but the reviews on this one led me to take a chance.I was very pleased! th-cam.com/users/postUgkxE7HOOpW0eh4vbVGAB_r_cURwoxZxpZPA The toast comes out evenly browned and I was surprised that the sides of the toaster do NOT get hot to the touch which is a great safety feature.I like the additional buttons for frozen foods, the emergency eject button, and the warming rack for rolls and other items.All in all, it was a good purchase and at the right price. Sure you can get fancier toasters, but for a premium price. This fulfills the basic duties of a toaster at a reasonable price.

    Remember you need a VOLTAGE ADAPTOR for use outside of Japan! That means you guys in North America! You're going to burn the toast using 120V. And eventually you'll burn out the heating element. This needs 100V. You can buy a 1000W adaptor on eBay.

      Thank you for the advice! It’d be really sad to burn your expensive toaster before you even use it 😥

      @@HIRAMEKI_JP I live in NA, and I got this as a gift. It worked well aside form 2 instances where my bread burnt. The first time was so bad that it's left a stain from what I'd guess was smoke. I did tons of research and found no one complaining about burning. The 2nd time happened today and I just don't know what to do. Do you think my lack of an adapter could be why my bread is burning? If so, should I simply get an adapter? I'm concerned that I've already damaged my unit.

      @@fauxre I’m using one now and I also burnt my toast twice when the slice of bread was too thick or had too much toppings on top. It burnt the Teflon silicone inner lid with a huge burnt stain! Back to your question. The burning is not due to the lack of transformer. I don’t have one and it is working perfectly well.

      @@3rd-Wave_Rebel Do you think it's safe to use after burning the teflon? That's exactly what happened to me.

      @@morganmarquardt9981 Did you smell any burning plastic? However I did smell some burnt smell from the steam vent. But after several weeks, the odor subsides. It’s not as strong as it was before. However if you taste burnt plastic in any of your food, then you need to contact your seller about it. The burnt Teflon was due to the food being direct contact with the heating element from the Teflon lid thus it got burnt. So just be careful not to touch the food with the Teflon lid while it’s toasting, then it won’t get burnt again. I didn’t smell any burnt plastic from the Teflon initially. Just the steam vent.

      I wish $300 was the most I've spent on a toaster. I think I'm up to $2500 in toasters total, $700 on a single unit (rare).

    Sadly, in the US the price is between $400 and $500 -- not the $270 indicated at the beginning of the video. $270 is based on the exchange rate when you convert 30,000JPY to USD but the markup in the US is a lot more.

      I think the best price for someone in the US would be to use a proxy service so someone will buy it in Japan for you and then deliver it

      Unfortunately, the merchants on Amazon or eBay have to mark up the price to 200+ dollar for each toaster to make a profit. Amazon took 15% off of every toaster they sold and they have to pay for shipping from the markup toaster they shipped. I believe the total amount they made from each toaster would be around 108-180 dollars depending on the currency rate. If the Japanese yen is higher let say 300+ dollar. They will charged an extra 250 for shipping and a 15% commission deduct by Amazon. That will be the final income they earned in their pocket…. I paid mine for 557 dollars on Amazon Canada last month when Japanese yen was high between 300-310 dollars…. This month on June, the Japanese currency came down and so the prices also drop to 450 dollars….for the toasters the 3rd party merchants charged and on Amazon Japan, it charges 30,000+5538 shipping= 35,5538… Which is roughly around 345-350 dollars Canadian! I overpaid 214 dollars…. But then again if customs fee is charged. We’re looking for another 45-87 dollars. That would be 390-432… Since I bought it a month ago, and I had been messaging with the Japanese merchant which he agreed for a refund but I had to pay for shipping which maybe cost between 95-125 dollars. Which I find it unworthy to return it for a refund then to buy another one from Amazon Japan. I might only be saving 65-80 dollars…

    I would be very interested to see a video with the ceramic alternative. I am not a big fan of teflon. I think this is also another disadvantage of this toaster.

    • @HIRAMEKI_JP
      @HIRAMEKI_JP  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’re right! Because of the teflon and the fact it is not very easy to clean, I don’t think this product is made for long term use! We’ll try the ceramic alternative !
