A little tip for the paddle holes. Time your machine and figure out when the last "kneading" is done before the rising and baking, then the next loaf, set your timer for that full time (mine is 1 hour & 35 minutes), and you can take out the paddles before the bread rises and bakes. It'll still have little tiny holes from the place where you put the paddles, but it won't have the massive paddle spot that always ruins the cut.
@@Dashitishere22 I refuse to use a bread machine just for that reason. Bit of a waste. I have this cool machine that will knead the dough and has a ferment cycle so it can rise at optimal temperature. It's the MVP. @@beccasmama63 I’m assuming you’re referring to the artisan bread toast? Because the first piece of toast definitely was not burnt. I bought some thin crust margarita pizzas, frozen ones. The crust came out nice and crisp, and the chopped tomato salsa on top was moist enough to be fresh tasting and juicy. I like your idea with the tin foil and water.

Emmy, I have the exact Breville smart oven that you have, and I think it makes the best, most evenly toasted bread I have ever had. You should do a comparison! 🍞
In terms of reheating croissants, would it work to toast them in a regular oven? You could get the moisture in the oven by doing one of at least three things: preheat a small pan in the oven and when you put the croissant in add a cup of warm water in the preheated pan, or just toss a few ice cubes into the oven right before you put the croissant in, or maybe spray some water into the oven using a water bottle. Do you think any of those would work?
They would work but there's lots of variables to cross off there. Probably even the changing weather would be able to mess you up with such amounts of water and an unsealed oven. This thing you put a cuplet of water and set the timer and setting to what the book says, comes out perfect. Toasting seems to be trickier than baking somehow.
Hm, so it's not like Panasonic's steam oven. I assumed it used that superheated steam technology since that's popular in Japan, but this is a much simpler appliance.
How do you replicate this at home with a regular or toaster oven? You do it with a spray bottle of water. You lightly spray the bread, toast or croissant, then place it in the toaster oven. It should steam nearly as effective as this steam toaster without the $300 price tag.
