I definitely disagree with her politics, but you can see how devoted a daughter she was and that devotion was based wholeheartedly in love, and you can see what a loss this is to her and his whole family. Politics aside, my heart goes out to all of them.

I literally could not watch this video. I saw the picture of Meghan McCain at the start of this video, and my heart broke for her. I disagree with her all the time on The View, but that doesn't matter at a time like this. She was a wonderful daughter to her father, a great American hero. Political differences aside. John McCain was an incredibly brave, and strong man who lived his life with integrity and honesty. He deserves the utmost respect from every American.

No, it sure doesn't. I lost my WWII Navy Dad this past February. He had the flu and pneumonia. He had been doing fine, then 30 days later, he was gone. My Dad was sharp as a tack, still drove and drove VERY WELL, was SO funny AND cracked jokes his entire life. No one believed he was 92. AN OUTSTANDING FATHER. We couldn't have been closer. I will love him and miss him soooo much. FOREVER. I too know Meghan's deep pain.

i just returned from a funeral of a not so close person a person who lived in my apt building. ...I and others who knew this person went out of respect for humanity, we made a presence for the family as this was how I was raised...i did not intimately know this person but I wanted to show the grieving family that out of my humanity this was what I could offer in respect to this person..... in contrast.......
its much more honorable and forthcoming to show that respect and love and care to the person while they are alive.. but great for you to go see a dead body of someone you casually noticed... I think its more important to honor LIFE and thats to be respect and courteous to all we encounter on a daily basis, go to his apartment, cook him a meal and play some cards and help extend his life.

Pearl Uncle Strangely, I've noticed a lot of kids don't cry at funerals. Growing up I couldn't help but cry, and I would usually be the only child crying. Kids my age would come up to me and acted concerned and perplexed. Death has always hit me really hard, and I actually don't understand why most people don't cry at funerals though. Sometimes it may be because they already had time to grieve privately, but I also think there are some people that are just emotionally detached and don't care that much. Kids I can understand not crying though, because I guess most don't understand the gravity of the situation. However, I can't relate to that. So I feel like the Caroline Kennedy example is a bad one. On top of that, I have noticed that very public funerals of JFK's magnitude, must be a little daunting, kids may be distracted by the ceremonious formality, and the outpouring of the crowds. This was a more intimate setting than JFKs funeral, and I am guessing it would have felt more natural to not hide her grief. It is actually comforting to see someone be a little raw and vulnerable at a funeral, especially if it is their father. It lets people know that not everyone in our society is too self-absorbed and emotionally detached to feel the pain of losing a loved one.

To topple Assad, which is a dictator but more moderate than the U.S. supported jihadists and Islamists would have been if they had won. McCain supported that agenda. Endless low level conflict. Good for sales of weapons. Syria as player removed. Weak tribal mini states. Hezbollah cut off - so Lebanon up for grabs for Israel. And of course THEN they could ram through the gas pipeline from Qatar over Syrian territory. I am neither Democrat or Republican, but the respect I have for this man is immense. He was a war hero-yes, a prisoner of war but a war hero. What I am seriously impressed by was his refusal of early release from captivity until all of his fellow men were released as well. This prolonged his captivity by about 2 years... now I did not agree with him on many platforms, no, he was not a perfect man. But he always believed in what he felt was right...Not to mention, I will take his brand of Republicanism/conservatism over what we see now in Washington. Losing a parent is the worst especially when parents experience medical malpractice and wrongful death and medical insurance company refuse to work with you all just to cover up their wrong doing.This happen to my parents it’s been five years that my mother passed do to wrongful and I’m still mourning.

R.I.P Senator John McCain I watched this yesterday and the church service today and saw how beautiful it was. I feel so terrible for Meghan McCain while watching her yesterday, it made me weep for her knowing how close she was to her dad as was I. My father passed two years ago last month and it was devastating for me. I was a daddy's girl just like Meghan was. I may not agree with her politics or the way she is on the view but I felt her pain yesterday and I wish her much comfort because it will be very hard after losing a parent that is so dear to you. It gets better with time but all you can do is remember the great memories you have of that person. It's best to have people in your life that support you in your time of grief because you can spiral downward if not careful. It will be tough and she can cry, scream, be angry, laugh and love. I wish her and her family the best in their time of need.
A truly noble and courageous man. Left and right, he helped us all with such substantial grace and decisive determination. Love to the McCain family. Keep your spirits high enough to reach him!
John McCain, although I was never one for politics, your enduring strength and views on how this world could be healed will always be remembered by your fellow patriots. I literally could not watch this video. I saw the picture of Meghan McCain at the start of this video, and my heart broke for her. I disagree with her all the time on The View, but that doesn't matter at a time like this. She was a wonderful daughter to her father, a great American hero. Political differences aside. No, it sure doesn't. I lost my WWII Navy Dad this past February. He had the flu and pneumonia. He had been doing fine, then 30 days later, he was gone. My Dad was sharp as a tack, still drove and drove VERY WELL, was SO funny AND cracked jokes his entire life. No one believed he was 92. AN OUTSTANDING FATHER. We couldn't have been closer. I will love him and miss him soooo much. FOREVER. I too know Meghan's deep pain.

i just returned from a funeral of a not so close person a person who lived in my apt building. ...I and others who knew this person went out of respect for humanity, we made a presence for the family as this was how I was raised...i did not intimately know this person but I wanted to show the grieving family that out of my humanity this was what I could offer in respect to this person..... in contrast.......

Pearl Uncle Strangely, I've noticed a lot of kids don't cry at funerals. Growing up I couldn't help but cry, and I would usually be the only child crying. Kids my age would come up to me and acted concerned and perplexed. Death has always hit me really hard, and I actually don't understand why most people don't cry at funerals though. Sometimes it may be because they already had time to grieve privately, but I also think there are some people that are just emotionally detached and don't care that much. Kids I can understand not crying though, because I guess most don't understand the gravity of the situation. However, I can't relate to that.
So I feel like the Caroline Kennedy example is a bad one. On top of that, I have noticed that very public funerals of JFK's magnitude, must be a little daunting, kids may be distracted by the ceremonious formality, and the outpouring of the crowds. This was a more intimate setting than JFKs funeral, and I am guessing it would have felt more natural to not hide her grief. It is actually comforting to see someone be a little raw and vulnerable at a funeral, especially if it is their father. It lets people know that not everyone in our society is too self-absorbed and emotionally detached to feel the pain of losing a loved one.

R.I.P Senator John McCain I watched this yesterday and the church service today and saw how beautiful it was. I feel so terrible for Meghan McCain while watching her yesterday, it made me weep for her knowing how close she was to her dad as was I. My father passed two years ago last month and it was devastating for me. I was a daddy's girl just like Meghan was. I may not agree with her politics or the way she is on the view but I felt her pain yesterday and I wish her much comfort because it will be very hard after losing a parent that is so dear to you. It gets better with time but all you can do is remember the great memories you have of that person. It's best to have people in your life that support you in your time of grief because you can spiral downward if not careful. It will be tough and she can cry, scream, be angry, laugh and love. I wish her and her family the best in their time of need.

My brother was also diagnosed with a brain tumor just before John McCain was and if it wasn't for The Lord Jesus Christ and McCain my brother might have not been here today. McCain fought the VA to make sure that my brother got brain surgery unfortunately shortly after McCain had to fight the same fight for his own life. He lost his life while extending my brothers life.
